At 6'4" I fit and bought 2 Road Kings... but never was able to fit on the fat boy right. I had a M8 Limited and had 35k miles on it...but when my wife quit riding...I quickly went back to a Road King... best bike I'd had over 40 years of riding and 10 HDs. 2007 RK Custom with 16" bars and Rhineharts.. it's my perfect bike. I'm looking to rebuild it at 200k miles if I need to... got 60k miles on it now.

@@Motorcyclewindtherapy thanks for the compliments on the video. I had a 16 RK with 16 inch bars… I did the cholo style to that bike and it always grabbed attention. I was trying to get to 250,000 on my RG Limited before it caught on fire. (Watch the video on my channel) Have you ever considered the Road King special? Sounds like you been riding for a while!! Stay two wheels up!!
@stogicide I will watch that (with a heavy heart for ya!) And I will sub too. I think my 2007 RK Custom is my perfect bike and was probably a precursor to the special. Single headlight... special chrome cover only made 3 years, 6 speed and the 96 TC with no cam tensioner issues by then...
I've had 10 HDs over 40 years of riding. Got my 883 Sporty 2 days out of the infantry...had moved all the way up the giant Ulltras and Limited when my wife was riding with me. She quit and I went back to the RK. Never needed the fairing or the fancy doo dads. I sleep off the bike when it's just me and I like to think and pray and praise when I ride and just listen to the pipes and feel the wind. It just feels right to me.

Thank you for your great review of those bikes. I have an 2021 Ultra Limited and I’m thinking about some lighter ride and I have some doubts about the Road King versus Fat Boy. I’m 62 years old, 212 pounds, 6.2 ft. I like the FB looks, it’s gorgeous. But, the RK suits my riding style better, since I’m riding solo most of the time. I ride my UL around town, and man, that machine is heavy!!!I It is my first Harley. Also I do some traveling with my MC’s buddies. Congrats from Brasilia, Brasil 🇧🇷😀!

Talk about a thorough review, good vid man. I mainly wanted to find a video like this because I’m super torn between a fatboy or road glide. I want to do a cross country trip, but I won’t be able to do much more touring after that. Realistically, I’d get more use out of the fatboy day to day, but man those road glides are nice. I’m also 250 at 5’10, in case that helps in deciding 😂
I’m glad you enjoyed the video..I do these videos cause my clients do these debates all the time when trying to purchase a bike. These videos really help…I have been across country a few times and a Fatboy ain’t gonna cut it..lol What happened to where you have to stop touring? Fatboy are really cool and functional bikes for around town. What part of the country try are you in?
@@stogicide yeah I can imagine the fatboy getting tiring after a while😂. As for touring, I’ll have a lot of free time next year, but afterwards I’ll be starting my career in engineering. I already have a Vrod, so having two muscle cruisers doesn’t make too much sense. I’m also born and raised in New Orleans, so I could realistically go to either coast when I take my trip

Thank you for the video. I am also undecided on which bike to upgrade. I have a 2019 low rider. I live in New York city but when I ride I go upstate where there’s less traffic and more country to see. I would consider traveling up on the bike to Saratoga Springs or Lake George which is about 3 1/2 hours away. I’m 5’6” so don’t know if that makes a difference on the size and weight of the bike. Any feedback would be appreciated thanks.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video…At 5’ 6” you would absolutely fit in a Road King. You might have to have it lowered an inch maybe but you would need to see how you fit on the bike.
I think the road king because you are about to adventure into longer touring rides. Even though you can do that with the Fatboy that is not what it is designed for. That touring frame on the road king is going to make for a smoother ride and the suspension is better for what you’re doing…
Finally, the road king is set up perfectly for your ride from the city to upstate. Plus those bags would come in hand, I promise you! I am from Miami and I have ridden upstate NY and it is very scenic riding. I hope you like my suggestions and keep watching the channel.

I'm wondering if Harley ever corrected the problem with the fat boy's uneven front tire wear. I had a 2018 Fatboy which I end up trading in because I was burning through front tires every 3,000 MI
The problem was corrected in 2020 for sure
