Fascinating episode on one of L.A.'s darkest and most tragic crimes. I cannot think of Marion Parker without remembering a friend of mine, former LAPD Lt. Paul Freestone. I met Paul when I drove to Arizona to interview him in 1990 about the Black Dahlia. He was 90 then. Paul told me about being an LAPD rookie working Central Jail in 1927-28. Of course I asked him immediately what he recalled about the Marion Park murder... he was the cop who booked Hickman when they brought him in.
That is very cool! So Paul was probably in a lot of the photos that we got to see at the museum. Thanks for sharing. Is there anywhere we can read about your research?
