I rarely seem to agree with this guy but I think the analysis in this case makes a lot of sense. Then I wondered about economic prosperity. I found a source online shat listed avg income by country and USA was 6th at about $82k per person. China was a little below the middle with average wages of about $13k dollar equivalent. There were only about,33 countries with wages above $30k US equivalent. I couldn't get a count of the ones below $30k but roughly double the number of countries or about 60 countries below $30k. There were several countries with less than $1k average annual income. Until we can level the economic prosperity by a couple deviations or better, we are dealing with a world that has a large group of very desperate people. If we focus on economic prosperity vs dominance, we would be offering hope to the people who need to know it will get better soon. Whether the USA is dominant or China takes over, the people in Egypt and other African nations earning $5500 or less per year...... probably do not care. They are just looking for a better quality of life.
You do not factor in the cost of living these countries. The US has one of the highest cost of living and what would be a good income in other countries, a worker would starve to death on in the USA. A lot of this high cost is the result of policies that have been instituted to shrink the middle class and shift the wealth to the .1%.

Not just these two wars. There are 56 ongoing conflicts, which is the highest number since World War II. 92 countries are involved in conflicts outside their borders.
Things really are simple. We either embrace a one world mentality where the entire world evolves together, or we embrace imperialism where all countries struggle to be the dominant country. As a race, we have been doing the latter for the past 500yrs. We have been through many wars. Our technology has advance, but our humanity has always lacked behind our technological advancement. Wars and invasions are inevitable when that happens. The more technological country takes advantage or takes over the weaker. We need to advance as a race, not just technological, but also our humanity. Imperialism is one of those things that will get you somewhere, but quickly push you back to the dark ages if you are not careful. We need to stop being imperialistic, and be more humanitarian and socialistic.
The people in all the small countries need to realise that the standard of living is much better in large countries, they need to put their differences aside and Unite as one larger country, much like the East African Federation is trying to do. The aim in the next 5-10 years should be to reduce the amount of countries in the world to about 20 and none by the end of the century. Humans can achieve so much more working together than we ever could while in conflict. How much stronger would a 4 nation Africa be? Or a 3 nation South America. One country in Central America. 2 middle eastern countries. 5 asian nation, 3 European countries. Lines on a map have held humanity back for too long. We can travel anywhere in the world in less then 24hrs. It’s time to erase the lines, they are obsolete.

I agree with almost everything Richard say. However, I think it's time to stop referring to leading countries, dominant countries great countries etc. It's individuals that make the difference good or bad. It's individuals that set the examples for better or for worse. It's individuals that can be good or bad leaders. It's not about race, or the country they lead. For decades the west has bad individuals leading and/or in positions of power.
Individualism is certainly valuable, but you might want to cultivate a sociological imagination to help you understand the position of Marxists like Dr. Wolff. You don't have to believe it, but there are many argument out there as to the value of such thinking over atomized individualism. See the sociologist C. Wright Mills.
@@SomeCajunDude I think you are missing my point. To suggest I don't have a sociological imagination from one comment I've made, suggests that you may want to cultivate more logic before leaping to conclusions.
@@BAROMETERONE I stand by my claim (which speaks directly to the inadequacy of individualistic framing) based on your comments, the only metric of you I possess. Acting offended rather than engaging the ideas suggests you are unfamiliar with Mills' work on the sociological imagination. But, please, I am amenable to a robust defense of my position if you are interested in doing the same for yours.
Claim: You have not cultivated a sociological imagination. Data pt 1: You said, " It's individuals that make the difference good or bad." If you think this, you have not cultivated a sociological imagination. Data pt 2: You said, "It's individuals that can be good or bad leaders." If you think this, you have not cultivated a sociological imagination. Data pt 3: You said, "It's not about race, or the country they lead." If you think this, you have not cultivated a sociological imagination. Warrant: A sociological imagination allows you to see individuals as neither good nor bad, but as material actors who are shaped by their environments. Counter-argument and rebuttal: No individual is fully determined by their environment in the end and possess the ability to change. However, the ability to change is also culturally specific and historically mutable. Qualifier: This is based on one conversation. If you have counter-evidence all you need do is lay it out logically, logic guy. I suggest the Toulmin model. Im sure you know it.
All people want to do is talk. No action. This is the cage we've been placed in. We can say what we want and complain while those with the means to act on their plans will continue doing so.
Using the logic of nuclear threat avoidance logic, the US *CAN* invade any country that they want as long as it's not another nuclear power because other countries will and cannot hold them responsible since they have nukes. China CAN take Taiwan and the Philippines. North Korea CAN take South Korea and Japan. Russia CAN take Ukraine and Poland and the Baltic and Turkey. Do you see how useless the entire idea of nuclear threat avoidance is? Because any country that can make that threat can use that logic to say why nobody should stop them in their actions, whether it's taking neighboring countries or demanding things that the people living in those countries don't want to give. The only way to stop nuclear states from taking over every other countries in the world and then going to WW III is to make sure that there is repercussions for starting hot wars. The US did invade Iraq. Russia did invade Georgia. Both got away with it with barely a slap to the wrist, and that emboldened other countries to take more and more hostile actions. People should be applauding the decision to escalate what is happening in Ukraine because *it still isn't a nuclear war yet*. And it won't as long as nuclear powers such as US, UK, France, and China are watching the situation and saying "Ok, you all had your wars, now go home and stop this or else." And do you know why? Because Ukraine is not the bottom line of *any* of those countries, so they have very little interest in taking the final step. Nor is it, contrary to popular propaganda, Russia's bottom line either - because Russia's bottom line is always going to be Putin and the FSB. As long as they're fine, they're not going to risk their own lives either.

Soul was made up in the 18th century or so to establish means of discipline and self regulation. Humans transform just like any other object
Aaaaahhhhhn COMPROMISE!
I think that is what should be talked about much more rather than all of this division we are seeing
Worldwide, there is less poverty today than ever before.
I promise you the reaction from the United States for taking their crown will be apocalyptic
@@TacticalMayoother empires have fallen in the past without an apocalypse. I guess the childlike mentality (US being so young in comparison to previous countries that had empires) may be the cause. Much like a childish tantrum.
@slygeebee7575 well I guarantee you that won't be the case this time. We will make sure of that.
Thank you Professor!
Psychopaths may look extraordinarily sane, psychologically stable (unnaturally calm in fact) to the cluster B BLIND many, yet they are the pure evil *addition* of TRUE madness.
The greater influence they have....the greater harm will be done.
Remember that someone told you !
Good point!
The voice of reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And Trump said he will overtax any BRICS countries who tries to adopt a new international coin. Sorry mate, too late for that.
Really? Like Wolff, you need to learn what the words mean. ( and get a hearing aid )
Our politicians are totally insane.
Palestinians don' t have to share anything, their land was occupied
This channel should be called "LifeNOTworthliving" all one word to make it modern
Right on!
Thanx a lot for your wise insights. All the best
I love this guy ❤🇿🇦
Greed and power will never go away. Always has been and always will be. Animals have a better structure than humans.
No tankie. We will not embrace that. We will not embrace changing the global order or the rules or taking of the crown. We won't do that.
We? I'm no imperialist. Never owned land or means of producing. All I have are my hands. It's not people like you and me who are the problem
I luv this Guy no joke I salute you Sir
It’s time to erase the lines, they are obsolete.
what in the hell is the benefit of having such weapons if you are afraid to use them - otherwise pass them out so that everyone has equal footing .
WW3? I'm ok. I still have my 1950s school desk.
Duck and cover.
It already started

But we can not let our politicians loose face...right?
That happens with aging for most people.
Fear mongering on RUclips isn't productive, even if what you're saying is true. We need bold and precise action to save humanity.

“The snow would just melt, the green Ukrainian grass would grow again and weave its carpet over the earth . . . The gorgeous sunrises would come again . . . The air would shimmer with heat above the fields and no more traces of blood would remain. Blood is cheap on those red fields and no one would redeem it.”

And yet, in these most pivotal and crucially delicate times, who do we have at the helm from next January...??!! Oh jesus...
This is why narcissists should NEVER be allowed to rise into ANY position of power. EVER.

Would like to know what Wolff thinks of Peter Zeihan's claim that China's demographics will bring it to its knees in short order.
thanks
I’m looking forward to it...peace is overrated.
WTF
Very catchy title. Scare them all, and they will watch your videos.
Great take. Let Putin have everything, 🤦
If by everything, you mean five, formerly Ukranian oblasts, filled with ethnic Russians, then yeah, everything.
@philhubb5885
You know all of them personally, eh? Nothing occurred that made the land go to Ukraine? Your cool with it when dictators just, accidentally, leave their military squatting places while people die by the tens of thousands. The same dictators that are so good at showing restraint?
In the history of the world there has never been a population in any country anywhere that held for a majority the opinion their country should go to war.
It's always exclusively a handful of "leaders" who don't care how many of their people they have to sacrifice if only they have a chance to get more power.
It wasn't Napoleon losing his life in the battle field, it was the French soldiers.

Good as far as it goes, but doesn't go nearly far enough and we're running out of time: it's utterly divorced from ecological awareness.
It is illogical to act offended over a minor suggestion drawn from a single data point.
Cool it professor Wolff! We are beginning to realise our oneness. Get together with francis Fukuyama. Together you can realise a new level of understanding
Perhaps The Competition Mind-set is The Issue 😮. ...No More Empires simply Do Good Business.. INTERNATIONALLY
is that Crazy Talk?😅
I was listening to what you had to say until you chimed in concerning China as the next global empire. It resonates with the concept that if someone says it enough it must be true. You ignore that their economy is in a shambles, their neighbors hate them, their people hate their government, they are dictators and those dictators have made completely stupid decisions. If anything the Chinese have come and gone as a nation unless their democratic cousins (Taiwanese) take the reigns of power and make a decent nation of the mainland. Communists as global dictators - you either are lazy or one yourself.
Wow, you are very incorrect. You may need to do a little background research before you assert such things. Where in gods name did you get the idea of the Chinese economy is in shambles? Hardly
"The US must become a leader in multi-lateral government!" he says, as the most uni-lateral administration prepares to take power. Yeah, good luck with that.
In exchange for Ukraine giving up it's nukes, the United States promised to aid them in case of invasion. Case closed.
We are involving our country and economy in the insanity and egotistical maniacs who believe in violence and stupid wars over issues that could easily be settled through honest negotiations based on love, mutual respect and true goal for peace.

@ 0:40 Every single war since the beginning of time has been fought over real estate (using religion as a scapegoat) and resources (using the idea of "freedom" as a scapegoat.) So yes, I believe people are willing to jeopardize everything over that. Are you kidding me? It's a tale as old as time.
The war's supposed to happen in the Middle East. So the Bible says the third and final third World War supposed to begin in the Middle East. Nocadamas said that and a few scholars well, white scholars anyway, said that whether was true, not, we don't know only time will tell.
