    Dude, in 10 minutes you just saved me from having to buy another canopy for my backyard. Just had a serious wind storm up here in NYC and it flipped my canopy over save for the end that was tied into the ground

      Adding wire between the posts in an X-configuration and using a turnbuckle to tighten will strengthen the "portable" tent enough to be permanent or semi permanent and you only need to do 2 sides opposite of each other not all 4. And then you could even add some sides for privacy and more shade. If you go semi permanent you'll need to add grommets to the canopy top, those velcro ties won't hold a thing. And make sure to add a strip of Gorilla tape tent tape along the edge where you make the holes for the grommets. that will reinforce the canopy so it won't tear in high winds. Just go around the entire outer edge like making a seem. It's good stuff. If you don't sturdy the legs sure the big anchor posts in the ground he showed in the video sure they won't pull out of the ground, but that doesn't mean the legs for the canopy can't be bent and warped by heavy wind.

    Great info. Thanks. I've been using the GroundGrabba screw in stakes. They're great in soft soil but don't work in hard ground. Yes I'm finding my standard ratchets get tangled a lot. I finally bought a 10x20 quality pop-up a few weeks ago. It was booked all last weekend & twice this weekend. So much easier to set up than the 20x20 high peak but then again doesn't generate as much revenue & you can't beat the look of a high peak in my opinion.

      @therentalguy  2 года назад +2

      If the ground is tough bring some 2 litres of water with you. Soften up the ground before you put the stake in. Yes I know that this defeats the purpose of giving maximum holding power. But it’s what I have done from time to time when it gets annoying to rotate the stake into hard ground.

      I’d say those earth auger stakes are the key to securing your popup canopy in the sand.

    Love your business growth man! You mentioned selling smaller tents to be combined into bigger tents, how do you market this on booqable for customers to understand?

    • @therentalguy
      @therentalguy  2 года назад

      On Booqable in the pro subscription you can make bundles. So I have my inventory as 10x20’s but I bundle them into a package.
      So for example the tent would appear as 20x20 Popup on the website but the inventory that gets bundled together for a 20x20 Popup is (2) 10x20s, (1) 20ft gutter, (6) cathedral window walls and (9) stakes and ratchets. This way the customer doesn’t have to add all of the items that they need because it would be to confusing.
      The key is making the booking process as simple as possible.
      I make it simple for them.
      Here’s my review video on Booqable:
      ruclips.net/video/iDGcTcUNTig/видео.html
      However I will be making an advanced updated Booqable video explainer when I get the chance.

    Where do you buy ur 10x20 tents?

  • @bombproofbushcraft
    @bombproofbushcraft 4 месяца назад

    noit sure if you will reply, but at about 1:15 in, you show some parts. Where the heck do you gt those parts. Currently I have two ABCTent 10x10 pop-ups and am ordering a 10x20 from euromax today. I just need the little plastic parts and the bolt and the nut and I would be all set on repairing my older popups. I can not seem to find them anywhere (I can order the entire truss system at some companies, but no where can I find just the plastic do-dads you showed at that mark in the video). They get lost over time and fall off and make the pop up much less stable. Any help will be much appreciated!

    Hey friend. Great video and info, thanks! Quick question, where do you get your window sidewalls for the 20x20 high peak tent? And do they connect to the tent top by velcro sraps? I like that style of window. Thanks in advance.

    If I anticipate putting 2-3 sides up to prevent the wind from knocking over my products (crochet plush and knit beanies) would you have any further suggestions? One market I do is literally right off lake Saint Clair and it can sometimes get really windy!!!

    I never knew you could pack away your canopy with cover still in tact. Do you recommend this? Is it safe?

    • @therentalguy
      @therentalguy  Год назад +2

      I always pack away intact. On the cheaper tops you need to fluff the tops up before you squeeze the frame closed so that the top doesn’t get caught in the arms when it closes. Solution is use quality tops.

    When u put two or more canopies together,do u put rain gutters m

    • @therentalguy
      @therentalguy  2 года назад +2

      For Popup tent only if rain is expected because pop up tent gutters are pretty ugly. For marquee tents I almost always put up gutters between tents because the morning condensation adds up in my area and leaves very small puddles on anything sitting in the space between the tents (tables and dancefloor). If I don’t have any gutters left I make sure the tables don’t go in the spaces where the dew drops.
