I’ve got a question about AP credits, since you already took so many APs why did you have to take the classes again? Do the credits not transfer or just a choice. I’m really curious about this, thanks
Hey! All the AP credits counted toward something, but the issue was, that something was not always a class I needed for my degree requirements! Astronomy and physics are very niche majors, so something like AP Gov doesn’t do much for it. You need to take a certain number of credits outside your major though, so the AP credits did actually help with that. I passed AP Lit, but from what I remember, it didn’t count for much of anything other than credits to graduate because UW still makes you get English/Writing credits from UW classes. I didn’t and wouldn’t choose to take class again at UW that I already took the equivalent of in high school! Not worth it for so many reasons!
I saw on the UW website that if you have high AP credits for physics and Calc you could skip some prerequisite classes for physics such as 121. But I don’t know if you still need to take them for the purpose of the admission of the major. Cuz you said that you have taken these AP classes but you are still taking these courses. I’m just a bit confused :(
That’s a great question! I’m honestly not really sure, but I am almost positive that if you have the AP credits for certain prerequisite classes, you don’t have to take them again for admission to the major. Again, I’m not sure if this is 100% accurate, so I would check the admissions website and see if you can find your answer on there or find a way to contact them. The reason why I had to take Physics 121 was because I got a 3 when I took the AP exam back in high school, which is not enough to get out of taking Physics 121. definitely would love to see a video about tips when choosing classes as a freshman at UW and getting involved in undergrad research asap :) thank you this video was helpful💜
I’m loving your videos so much!!!
thank you that means so much to me!! 💜
omg the physics 121 tutorial section traumatized me for life. also i think we lived on the same floor in lander you look super familiar lol.
ME TOO😂...😅...🥲...😭 and wait whaaaat? really? that’s so cool I wish we got to meet each other! maybe next year!

@@jessicastarsinspace2563 thank you so much!! That really helps!!!
I’m going to be a physics major next year too! And I hate electromagnetism too lol
That’s awesome! Haha yay I’m glad I relate to at least one other person😂
hood makin you look like a gnome... but in all seriousness those tips were on point, esp about math 126
The Physics tutorials are soooo annoying. And the homework is even worse... I have no idea what I’m doing 😂😭
RIGHT?!?! Don’t worry it only goes downhill from here😃👍🏼 JK JK lol it sorta gets better
