While I despise Post-Shift 2 for many, many reasons, I can respect the skill and the time you’ve put into this, good lord. And this video is great, love the editing and production style.
Part of the reason I wanted to make this video was, despite having some reservations/criticisms on the game, I do overall enjoy it as a Kaizo-FNaF game. And, while I wasn't able to talk about it in length in the video, I also think RJac has some great narrative ideas that were unfortunately not fleshed out as they could be in the game.
Lmao, I can hear a lot of the jokes from the now-deleted Phisnom vod/stream. It's nice to see somebody else who liked this game to any capacity, though.
As someone who has 100% this game, this is entirely accurate. You eventually stop questioning how/why you know or how it makes sense and just go ultra-instinct mode. XD
Hey man, i just finished the whole vid, and i can say that Experience or Retrospective type of videos really suits you! The way you talk, editing and even some jokes is gorgeous! I always adored small youtube channels, it's kind of a shame that you you have just a 1k of followers, you clearly deserve more. And it's one of the first videos of this game which is not a hate/screaming in pain like. Well, i've never played Post-Shift 2 myself yet, but i watched a TON of videos of people rewieving or beating it. And i can say that except the rng, essay like tutorials, long animations, and the difficult gameplay, that will make you think that any extreme demon in Geometry Dash is actually easy, the game itself is good. Yes, it's not the best one, but it's a good experiment. Gameplay is indeed intersting, the way rjac25 brought Fnaf 4 walking animations to a whole new level is impressing. Despite the fact that the lore of post-shift doesn't make any sense and it feels like that the dev took some hard dr*gs, the ideas themselves are interesting. After 100% completing Post-shift CN, i can personally say that the games have some of the epic speeches i've ever seen in fangames ( sadly they don't make any sense, lol). Especially the secret Remnant Foxy's "I was told" cutcscene. It's simply beautiful. Summorizing it all, i can say that the game it's not that bad, especially not the worst fangame ever made. The game has a really good graphics and designs, the soundtrack goes hard, and the VA's made an astonishing work. Althought i do think that the game need's something like a 2.0 patch. The game has a lot of potential, and it can't simply be ruined like that. Other fangame "Oblitus casa" also had a lot of problems in 1.0, but the game really improved due to updates and became one of my favourites fangames so far. But sadly, the game feels abandoned, and nor rjac, nor anyone else will comeback to it. Personally, i wish that rjac25 would comeback to game development, he is really talented. Surely, everyone makes mistakes, but they're made for experience, to learn from them and improve. And also GL to YOU personally i will check you podcast someday:) ( although my opinion of the game can change bcause i will actually beat it for a review of the franchise and i'm actually scared to even start night 1...)
Thank you so much! I've wanted to try my hand and learn how to do essay/retrospective videos for a while but it's taken a while to learn more about the scripting, producing, and editing style to get it to work! So far, I'm glad the reception has been grander than I could've ever expected! I do unironically like Post-Shift 2, but I always contextualize it as a love of a kaizo game. Its difficulty was never intentional, and clearly, RJac has a talent for both game development and lore-crafting but struggles with Q&A testing and story development. But, like how FNaF found an itch that the horror/gaming community wanted to be scratched and capitalized on it, I think RJac accidentally found an itch in the FNaF community that has never been relieved. Challenge-based games, in other words: Kaizo Games. If RJac were to come back (and I hope he does) I would love for him to lean in on his new reputation and create a brand-new difficult FNaF game with wacky mechanics and overwhelming obstacles. I think he would not only be welcomed back with open arms, but he would also be heralded as someone who inadvertently created a brand-new sub-genre in the FNaF Fanverse scene.
One thing that's heavily overlooked in this game is the animatronics and enverioment desing The animatronics all look scary, not a single location looks bland or uninteresting. It's so sad to see everyone trash this fangame when everything looks so good.
RJac really put a ton of effort in Post-Shift, and you can see the remnants of what it was supposed to be in its design and art-style. The game could’ve been so much more if there was just a few more QA testers and a little more development time.
15:52 pretty sure you are the only youtuber to document this fact, no one has ever saw foxy poke his head out that construction zone hole, nor lured him at construction zone
Thank you! I'm hoping to get a new video up by the end of next month. But I'm still learning more about Premiere, so wish me luck, lol. Thanks again for giving the vid a watch, and I'm happy you like it!
Truly wonderful video, one thing that especially shines for me is quality of the script, video pacing and writing (it is a video essay afterall) is incredible. Looking forward for more content like this
Correction. Minatar Freddy has 2 different music boxes per area. the toreador one i think is for the construction area and the other one is for the vent. just thought i let you know
My biggest question is why is Night Six's tutorial it's own screen and not in the actual gameplay like the others? Would have made it easier to comprehend personally.
I believe the reasoning was due to both the amount of mechanics along with the 2-hours rotation. If the mechanics were 1:1 to previous nights it may have sufficed to have the tutorials during the gameplay. But, because almost all the animatronics have randomly new mechanics never seen before, RJac probably though it not feasible to squeeze all that info in a small text-box on the bottom of the screen.
Hey! New viewer here, this is genuinely awesome, you've earned a subscribe and like from me, editing style has a nice style to it, not too fast, not too slow. Genuinely think this is one of the best FNAF fangame videos. Though, If I'd had to suggest a topic as complex or if MORE complex. The FNAW series. It consists of 6 games (technically 7 if you count deluxe, which if you DO decide to make a topic for this series, you should play instead of 1.) FNAW is a series very important to me (got scared shitless when I was young) so it'd mean a lot to me in you covered it! It'd be like a 2 hour video though, unless you either split it into parts. Sorry for rambling, but yea, great vid!
I watched this when it came out, and now I'm watching it again, and maybe I am crazy but I swear there have been some edits. Only eight and a half minutes in, and I could have sworn that French music wasn't there before, I don't remember him saying Mignatator, and is the introduction different?
I beat this game in one day and only died on night 5 twice and night 6 12 times. (PS: it’s the first fnaf fan game I’ve beat and also I watch chicken ninja so that might have helped)
One thing to mention, you CAN use the drone on One-Eye, but don't even bother as its a last resort that's not even guaranteed Why even include this option if your not gonna make it guarantee if your almost out of time?
29:00 I played post shift 1, and I need to say, the entire game is MUCH easier than P-S 2 Night 5, it works so better and I don't fell the RNG can screw me (in the first game), that's such a crazy thing
@@buffete3753 For real. I don't think the idea itself was a bad one, but the execution was. Like, why include every animatronic for a night if none of them are going to repeat their mechanics? Why do it that way!?! XD
The jingle itself comes from Post-Shift 2. The first part (for the location) comes from when you begin a night in Aisle 1, and the second part (for the animatronics) comes from the end of Night 3 if you are on the path to the Good Ending. You can find both parts on RJac's RUclips channel if you look up the Post-Shift 2 OST.
