Lysandre's weapon didn't backfire - indeed, it worked and he won, because all the leaders in RR came from dimensions where there was no hero to stop them - but the Wormhole sucked him away before he could enjoy his victory.
Lysandres old theme was fitting because he seemed on the edge when you fought him. This one sounds like he actually snapped, and it’s because he finally was able to fulfill his dream and probably was overwhelmed with the realization of what he had done and it made him insane. And it sounds intimidating as hell. *GAME FOR CHILDREN*
I think the part that proves this is that at the start of the original you hear a gun get loaded, symbolizing that the ultimate weapon is ready to be used, but in this one YOU HEAR A LAZER BLAST

These remixes are more triumphant for sure, and there's good reason why. These guys succeeded with their plan in their alternate worlds after all. I just wish they were darker instead. Ghetsis is the best one tho.

I think Cyrus implies that Giratina stepped in but he got wormholed away right as he did so. So the universe was saved, you know, except for a pesky rip in space time that leads into the distortion world.
His DPPT theme was meant to sound menacing because he was about to destroy the universe. In USUM he already did that, and taking out the Gen 4 slap bass combined with the USUM techno gives us this insane remix which is the best USUM boss theme imo.

Well, it still impacted me, but if you analyze his psychological profile further, you realize that at least you were lucky that Alder and Cheren were there to have Ghetsis once you beat him , I don't want to imagine what he would be able to do to us if Alder and Cheren hadn't arrived, it's that Ghetsis is a psychopath , brother, and one of the worst mistakes that Arceus made and still regrets in Create Ghetsis

I'm kinda disappointed by Archie/Maxie's theme , but of my god Cyrus got one that's even better than the original by miles ! and it fits with his character and his goals better , and it somehow reminds me of the theme of the X-naut fortress from Paper Mario The Thousand-year Door.
Literally all of these themes are improvements to the originals. They keep the nostalgia, and blow you away with a new sound( and a whole new theme for Giovanni). These games feel more like a twentieth anniversary than sun and moon even though those games weren’t bad.

The grunt theme is an awesome remix of the original Rocket theme. One of the better themes. Archie and Maxie (along with their downgraded designs) have an alright theme until the drop begins. Afterwards, it's just a mix of random chiptune sounds and a dentist's drill. Not pleasant. Cyrus's theme is cool. It keeps the original melody central and adds an awesome percussion track to the back as well as changing up the tempo so it's still fresh. My favourite. How could Game Freak have made an already incredible theme better? Like this. It has enough new stuff to separate it from the original, yet still keeps the original melody close and altering the tempo often - much like Cyrus. Lysandre has a great one as well but only for similar reasons to the previous two. Giovanni finally gets his own theme, and oh Arceus - is it a good one. It's grand, threatening and keeps to the Team Rocket sound. Incredible stuff.
I didn't forget Ghetsis, as Merchant said. If you had any skills in reading, you'd know that I was following a pattern with every paragraph being for a different theme. Despite me not explicitly mentioning the Ghetsis name, anyone could probably infer that the character who comes after Cyrus and before Lysandre is Ghetsis.

Just the thought that people like Cyrus and Lysandre accomplished their goals in their timelines is actually terrifying. It would be so interesting to have some way for gamefreak to show us what their worlds would look like after that
This is one of the reasons why Ultra Sun and Moon are among the best Pokemon games. The perfect mix of nostalgia / series celebration and actual intense fun. I adored episode RR. I only hope the post-game episodes get better from here on.
When I was younger (and even today) Ghetsis's themes in BW and B2W2 are the only boss themes that genuinely intimidate/scare me. All of the boss themes are awesome, of course, but Ghetsis was the only one that actually gave me that sense of urgency that screamed 'if you don't beat me your fucked'.
I swear, Ghetsis' theme gets more and more oppressive with each iteration he has. I kinda find it very fitting. He's probably one of the most vile and despicable characters of all the leaders in the games.
I like how they trick you for a moment into thinking Giovanni still just has the general Team Rocket theme, before practically whacking you with the rest.

Literally all of these themes are improvements to the originals. They keep the nostalgia, and blow you away with a new sound( and a whole new theme for Giovanni). These games feel more like a twentieth anniversary than sun and moon even though those games weren’t bad.

Idk why people dislike Aqua and Magma's team, I think that theme is one of the themes I can jam out to the most.
Because the ORAS theme is better.
The grunt theme is an awesome remix of the original Rocket theme. One of the better themes.
Archie and Maxie (along with their downgraded designs) have an alright theme until the drop begins. Afterwards, it's just a mix of random chiptune sounds and a dentist's drill. Not pleasant.
Cyrus's theme is cool. It keeps the original melody central and adds an awesome percussion track to the back as well as changing up the tempo so it's still fresh.
My favourite. How could Game Freak have made an already incredible theme better? Like this. It has enough new stuff to separate it from the original, yet still keeps the original melody close and altering the tempo often - much like Cyrus.
Lysandre has a great one as well but only for similar reasons to the previous two.
Giovanni finally gets his own theme, and oh Arceus - is it a good one. It's grand, threatening and keeps to the Team Rocket sound. Incredible stuff.

I didn't forget Ghetsis, as Merchant said. If you had any skills in reading, you'd know that I was following a pattern with every paragraph being for a different theme. Despite me not explicitly mentioning the Ghetsis name, anyone could probably infer that the character who comes after Cyrus and before Lysandre is Ghetsis.

D/P/Plat Cyrus had a menacing asf theme. US/UM Cyrus has a funky theme that sounds like a dance beat.

Just the thought that people like Cyrus and Lysandre accomplished their goals in their timelines is actually terrifying. It would be so interesting to have some way for gamefreak to show us what their worlds would look like after that
This is one of the reasons why Ultra Sun and Moon are among the best Pokemon games. The perfect mix of nostalgia / series celebration and actual intense fun. I adored episode RR. I only hope the post-game episodes get better from here on.
When I was younger (and even today) Ghetsis's themes in BW and B2W2 are the only boss themes that genuinely intimidate/scare me. All of the boss themes are awesome, of course, but Ghetsis was the only one that actually gave me that sense of urgency that screamed 'if you don't beat me your fucked'.
I swear, Ghetsis' theme gets more and more oppressive with each iteration he has. I kinda find it very fitting. He's probably one of the most vile and despicable characters of all the leaders in the games.
I like how they trick you for a moment into thinking Giovanni still just has the general Team Rocket theme, before practically whacking you with the rest.
The one i'm most disapointed in are Maxie and Archie's themes. The one that I think is most well done is Ghetsis'.

3. Zavok-I mean, Lysander - As much as I hate this guy, being as self-destructive and one note as Zavok IMO, awesome theme.
4. Archie - Party time with the king of the sea, epic theme.
5. Maxie - Party time with the king of the land, a theme so good has to steal two spots.
6. Cyrus - Raving in Space-Time, Good stuff.

Rocket: needed to let loose more with rock and roll.
Aqua Magma: needed to focus more and cut back the flare with the trumpets.
Galactic: needed to enjoy life with some bongos.
Plasma: committed Egypt baby slaughter 2 big drum boogaloo.
Flare: needed to go with a darker theme.
Giovanni: buckling down, doing rare candies Carbos and Zinc when he lost the first time to a 10 year old child. So that he would never lose again.
They probably grabbed all the grunts from every team and told them to dye their hair green and put this on.
