Hi, I love your channel and watch it regularly with my son Allan. Practice makes perfect. Mix about 2-3 tablespoons of custard powder in an about 1/4 cup of milk with a fork until it is a smooth consistency no lumps. Add this to the rest of the 1 pint 568 ml or 2.7 litre of cold milk using a balloon whisk keep stirring. Take to a simmer, bubbles appear turn heat down and just let small bubbles appear. Keep stirring with a balloon whisk in a figure of 8. When the mixture becomes thick stir extra 1 minute. I hope this helps your future custard make.

Hi Katie, I put a few tablespoon of custard powder in a cup with some water & mix it & put milk and sugar in a saucepan then bring to the boil, when it starts boiling add your custard from cup then keep stirring until it goes thick

U should have put the custard in a cup with the sugar and keep stirring

Sorry I missed this live. Watched on replay. How did your custard turn out in the end. The cake looked alright. I made custard the other night using hot water from the kettle, mix up a little of the custard powder with some water and mix to a paste. Then it’s really important to have boiling water to add as this thickens the custard. You can add a little butter or soya milk after if you wish. Looks like you still have your Christmas tree 🎄 up Katie lol😄😄
Hi David 😊 the custard was watery in the end awful lol I put a short up on here showing it, I'm determined to get it right one day lol yes totally forgot about the tree lol I've no where to store it so Im going to have to find someone who can store it for me
How did you do it in the air fryer did you use silicone tray or paper or was it just straight in the air fryer

Hiya guys .... balloon whisk needed 4 to 5 table spoons 3 tablespoons sugar little almond or rice milk just enough to mix and then add to ltr of milk when it starts to boil add it in then whisk it switch off the heat and carry on whisking u can't make custard with water
