This 18th Sunday in Ordinary time, we raise in glory God's grace and praise his Holiness. Thank you for your homily, prayers, and blessings, Rev. Fr. Jerry Orbos.
We pray for my husband's health, preoccupations, and earning opportunities. We ask the Lord's guidance for him. Grant him Your will dear God. 🙏
Raising my children's health and work to your grace and mercy. Grant them a safe and healthy atmosphere and success in their endeavors. Make them manage their finances well. Praying that they find their God's best.
Lord, thank you for the househelp who is healthy, COVID free, and trustworthy and has helped us organize our household, even temporarily.🙏♥️

Rev. Fr. Jerry Orbos, do intercede in prayer and grant your blessings on this 18th Sunday in Ordinary time, for our sick relatives and friends (esp. Mae Magsanoc, with her illness' continuous health management, and her youngest son),
for cancer patients, esp.for Yolly Kho's chemo onco treatment; heal her, dear God;
... and all our family (papa, Ivan, Ilsa, and me) and friends who are suffering from COVID-19 and its variants (esp. Cousin Nena Armstrong).
We also pray for the complete healing and rehabilitation of Carlos Rogelio Joson Galzote, 2nd son of our friend Cecille, who's 43, after his mild heart attack.
We ask for God's continuous mercy and grace to touch all of us with Your divine healing, alleviate our pains, and give us physical strength and financial sustenance in our battle. We raise all in prayer to You, our Lord, the Master Healer.
We also pray for ALL our dearly departed relatives, friends, and associates. Eternal rest grant unto ALL of them, oh Lord. As we ask, too for their prayers for us living.

Why live celebrating, venerating, invoking and praising dead saints? The main saint who lived, died and rose again deserves all this! God the Father and Jesus always stays behind. Much more is said of saints than of him; they are the protagonists, for many, salvation comes from them and not from Jesus. In almost all Catholic churches, masses are held, parties celebrating their day. But did not God command Moses and Solomon to make the images of angels for the temple? These never served that purpose, there is no biblical text saying that they were revered or praised. This did not happen even in the worst idolatries of Israel when they praised the Canaanite gods and they were destroyed for it. Psalms 135: 15 to 18. Idols, (images of saints, angels and gods) are silver, wood, clay and gold, the work of human hands. They have a mouth, but they don't speak; they have eyes, and do not see, They have ears, but do not hear, nor is there any breath in their mouths. Let those who make them become like them, and all who trust in them.
Isaiah 5: 20. 20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who make darkness light, and light darkness; and make bitter sweet, and sweet bitter!

Homily - July 31, 2022
⁃ “Mga kapatid, sino sa inyo ang mayaman? Marami po ang mayaman. Lahat tayo in fact mayaman.”
⁃ “Yung buhay pa tayo ngayong umaga, yung nakakadinig tayo - you have time to pray? You are rich. Hindi lang ho pera ang kayamanan.”
⁃ “Sino sainyo ang mga mayabang? Ang hirap po yung mayaman na mayabang. Okay lang na mayaman pero ‘wag ka lang maging mayabang. Lalong-lalo na po mayabang ka sa Diyos. You have forgotten that all the money you have-in fact the very life you have this morning is from God. This is the gospel today about riches.”
⁃ Whether we like it or not, money is very much a part of our lives.
⁃ The gospel tells us today to take care to guard against all greed.
⁃ One’s life does not consist of possessions.
⁃ You are more important than your possessions.
⁃ Your achievements in this world are nothing compared to the blessings you receive-you and I receive from God.
⁃ Things that I was taught to bring when I was a child:
1. Rosary
⁃ In your journey, don’t forget God. “Yung iba kase punung-puno ang bulsa pero sa puso naman ang Diyos ay wala.”
⁃ Prayer reminds us that all we have is from God.
2. Handkerchief
⁃ It reminds us to be humble and to serve.
3. Comb
⁃ Simple reminder for all of us to be neat, to be clean not only externally, not only physically but to live in neat and in a clean life-RIGHTEOUSNESS.
⁃ Be orderly, be righteous. Do what is right.
4. Bulsa-relo.
⁃ A reminder that you cannot carry so much money in this world.
⁃ If you have so much money, the danger is you may not be able to come back home to your Father in heaven.
⁃ Be careful about money because money can corrupt you.
⁃ Your passion for money may cause you to lose compassion for people.
⁃ Money can bring you to dishonesty.
⁃ There are some things that are not for sale: your principles, your friendships, your values. Not everything has a price.
⁃ Use your money for your salvation not for your condemnation.
⁃ Reminder, don’t make your money your God.
⁃ Your worth is not your money. You are more than your money.
⁃ There is true happiness in sharing not in hoarding. And there is true happiness in giving not just in getting.
