    A happy, content family is the cornerstone of a steady society. Y’all are doing great family and doing the right thing at this time when things are about to get wild. Keep it up 👏🏽

    You've got such sweet babies! I can't wait to start a family with my husband. That homemade root beer sounds delicious with all the spices. God bless you and your sweet family. ❤

    I just happened to stumble across your channel, and I'm glad that I did. Beautiful family and awesome family activities. I love how you all made your own root beer!
    Please permit me to make a suggestion. When making the root beer or any other homemade soda, consider making a ginger bug. A ginger bug is essentially a starter for homemade carbonated beverages. Consider it as a sourdough starter for homemade sodas. The ginger bug adds probiotic properties to your homemade sodas. After all, sodas were once considered medicinal at one point.

      So glad you watched! Welcome 🤗
      Ginger bug? Interesting. I just looked it up, sounds like a good idea and we have lots of ginger growing in the greenhouse! Will do, thanks for the suggestion 😊 and thanks for watching.

    It's so wonderful to watch your family work together outside or inside the home. No matter what it is you're doing there is joy and enjoyment. That happens to me sometimes,, try adding a tablespoon or two of semolina. I am still experimenting with replacing baking soda/powder with yeast as I recently learned that we should not be putting those things in our stomach (Councils on Diets and Foods). Hope you had a wonderful Sabbath and all the best for this week. God bless you TFF❤❤❤❤❤

      Thank you so much for your kind words! Your comments always make us smile 🤗We had a wonderful Sabbath. We hope you did as well. Thanks for the tip about selmolina, I am also learning to do without the baking soda and vinegars as well. Blessings friend!

    Banana bread is literally a humbling little loaf of bread. I've baked it since I was 13 but there is always one day in 6 months where I just butcher it so badly😂My cookery teacher always said "Leave the mixture at dropping consistency." Basically, it should drop off your spoon as easily as liquid. Also, did you use any baking powder or some sort of agent like that? I normally use baking powder without aluminium. It helps.
    Otherwise, a great way to start my sabbath, watching your family as always. Something about country living videos really warms me up inside😍

      Thanks so much for your lovely and helpful comment 🥰 So glad you enjoyed the video
      I forgot to add the baking soda🤦🏾‍♀️. I will remember the “fall off the spoon” tip whenever I make banana bread again. Yay!!

    How do you identify the sassafras when no leaves on the tree? You must be very skilled

    • @TheForagingFamily
      @TheForagingFamily  14 дней назад

      I remembered where they grow and just had to find the root system and can easily decipher the scent based on years of foraging the plant

    It looks like you are missing baking soda in the banana bread. Either that or you didn't mixed your fruits together before adding your liquids so th baking soda fixed out before it could do it's job.

    You added to much liquid to the batter thats why it came out that way.
