S/V would've been 10/10 with the graphical and frame rate updates, not to say the game was bad, It was actually really damn good; cool Pokémon, GREAT story, and solid characters. But the update came 2 years too late...

@Matty_Meister Honestly, that's up to you. I personally enjoyed it and the DLC, so I'd say just give it a shot if you can find a used copy of it with the DLC bundled in it
@Matty_Meister I have the switch two, and it's like a completely different game playing it now, it looks better visually and has steady smooth 60FPS at 4K resolution. Zero complaints

I didn't even play 90% of these games but now I realize that just following the discourse encompasses the background of a ton of formative experiences in my life from the start of the switch all the way until end. Three Houses is probably my favourite Switch game and Fire Emblem game, glad he gave it some leeway.
Also nice to see that Engage only is high because of the gameplay and not for the story and characters which are awful
Tbh I honestly liked three houses gameplay more because it’s simple and not too overpowered. The exploring the area is also significantly better in three houses

Yes, please IS, give me an atrociously boring flying minigame that takes literal minutes and gives you absolutely no benefit. Make a fishing game that takes minutes of button spam for no benefit. Give me exercise games that were definitely never playtested on harder difficulties. Give me a pointless hub area to recheck after every fucking battle.
People hate the monastery but it was both skippable and beneficial while still being more enjoyable.

The amount of clips I have on my Switch that's just Metroid Dread (the other majority being Xenoblade 3 screenshots) because I just felt so badass whenever I did anything remotely impressive in that game is insane. It's genuinely in my top 3 games of all time and one of the first games I ever bothered trying to speedrun just for fun (and for the completion too but that was more motive for me to play it again) and I could honestly gush about this game for so long. It's gorgeous, perfected the Metroid formula and if I had it on release, it would've been my game of the year.
My problem was that the 60 dollar game competes with a very prolific metroidvania indie game space. Also EMMI was less scary and more annoying to me
You need to go back to Astral chain one day or if it ever gets an fps boost, the first 2 chapters are pretty limited in combat, but every chapter after just keeps getting better, very underrated game wish it would get a sequel someday!

Cadence of Hyrule in console bangers -> this is the perfect tier list ! The mere existence of this game is a miracle, and somehow it managed to rival the quality of first-party zelda games.
Either my standards are so low, that shouldn’t be categorized as a sapient being, or I got the most stable Pokemon Violet on the Switch.

Not to brag, but one of my pokemon keeps clipping through the floor in battle (only ever him, none of my others) and my shiny luxray keeps having texture glitches where it will be the wrong colours all over.
Having said that, I also love sword and shield so it’s not like I can judge. It’s def got good qualities, I just wish it worked on a technical sense a bit better

The only thing I personally don't agree on is the take on Skyward Sword. The Switch version gave us an option to not use motion control and to me that makes the game way better. I just couldn't finish it on Wii because my Wii-mote probably had some sensor issues or smth similar because Link drifted so often that it made the game harder than is should be.

Edit 1: Haven't finished the video, but I need to say it's a CRIME Part Time UFO isn't at the very least in the "Worth it" tier, because that game is just joy incarnate! Plus, it has an amazing soundtrack!

My gripe with Pokemon Let's Go is they literally require you to catch X amount of Pokemon to progress through the game - if your Pokedex doesn't have enough entries, it literally doesn't let you move on. Just, why?

the singular reason I bought xenoblade chronicles X definitive edition, was to be able to sit in the squad select menu. and hear melancholia another time. its been so long since they shut down the wii u internet services. It just didnt hit the same to hear on youtube. the fact they hid such a BANGER FUCKING TRACK. behind a menu you spend TWO SECONDS IN. will always piss me off. like, you have *no idea* that theres a fucking beat drop, guitar solo, with HARD female vocals. unless you sit there.
Update since I forgot: the squad select menu doesnt exist, the *only* way to hear melancholia is to either GET TO THE FINAL BOSS IN LIKE THE FINAL PHASE
or by chance in some *very very* sparce 'in game' cutscenes in random missions, I am even more disappointed

Basically it's just that octo expansion is pretty much peak. But now 3 has a fantastic story mode on par with it or better in terms of gameplay (story was a bit lacking) and the whole rougelite mode that I sunk a bunch of time into, Salmon Run is actually good now, all the multiplayer is the best it has been, and the hub worlds and unlockables have more charm and personality than ever. Kinda cool that they're releasing third kits for 30 weapons over the next two days

It’s always a pleasure to see you give love to Xenoblade! I started playing through DE a few years ago thanks to your recommendation, and I can confirm that it still remains a peak experience several years later :)
I also started with DE and freaking ran with it, was flabbergasted by how good this series was. 2 and 3 fully made me realise that Xenoblade is one of my favourite game series of all time and I can't thank people recommend DE enough for getting me into it :D
From a fan of the Xenoblade series, the story is there to give it context and gives a pass. But I spent easily 200+ hours even without online and the story takes a HUGE stepback if you're into grinding for levels and equipment just until your story allows it to unlock new stuff. You can definitely run ahead though to harder areas even when you're in say for instance chapter 3, or you can try to focus on the story and level up as you need, it's pretty open on how you want to play.
32:32 another thing about FE Engage is that... that game looks amazing. I get that many people might not enjoy the art style and art direction, but Engage has gorgeous visuals considering the engine it has to work with. The best of Fire Emblem imo. Compare any enviroment within the Somniel to something from Three Houses' Garreg Mach Monastery and it's no contes.
Visually gorgeous, the characters designs could be better (interview from the artist said she is used to only designing female child-like characters as a VTuber designer so doing males and older females felt weird to her) id love if we got Kozaki, Hidari, or Wada/Senri again. 3H is a very very ugly game, that only 3Hopes made me love how 3H looked.
@ZytenEspadai think 3h's ugliness adds to its charm, personally. it made the world feel grittier (though the aimless npcs getting stuck in each other's paths was unfortunate), whilst i dont really buy engage's whole world war shebang cause of the guy with pastel flowers on his hair and and lace suspenders.. oh but slap those guys on a keychain and BOOM. instant peak character design
Seeing modern fire emblem fans debating which pile of slop is better is always fun. I will admit that the story and characters of three houses are good, but they’re still not even top 5 in the series.

No monster hunter on this list is a crazy choice. MHGU and Sunbreak are literally the best games on the console without exception

MHRise/Sunbreak is no longer a switch exclusive so in my opinion I don’t think it should count even though I agree it’s absolute peak, but MHGXX not being on this list is definitely a crime that game is amazing

I honestly think Jacob is right. BotW definitely was consol defining and whenever there was a game that wasn't as much optimized as it *cough cough* pokemon *cough cough* it's been immediately compared to either BotW or TotK. It wasn't just console defining, it's been genre defining. Despite all that I think it's correct to place it in Console definitely anyway BUT only because I think something console defining is its own tier arguably even above peak
Also not having played any Mario game. I think SMO should be in console defining but that's under the premise that peak and console defining are switched

Xenoblade continues to be one of the most gassed up games in history. I've played it and, while I still think it's good, it's not 'god tier' like everybody keeps saying. It's like a 7/10, I just did not click with the combat at all, it's too automated for my liking.

The tier list didn't have the Xenoblade 3 DLC like it did with Torna, despite the two being quite similar in terms of launch. Regardless, I'd love to hear you talk more about your favorite games
I imagine it's probably because 3's DLC didn't get a separate release. Weirdly, you could buy just Torna physically. The source for the list of games probably excluded Future Redeemed because of that.
@paetolus That's what I was thinking too, but I really did want to hear Alpha's take on Future redeemed, and moreover each Xenoblade game individually due to the absolute depth of each game and the amount of PEAK they are as well

My ultimate opinion is that if youre a big three houses fan who loves the characters? Play three Hopes. Its worth it. It is, in my opinion, better than three houses at character writing.
I agree with this somewhat, but I'd say the endings do feel a bit unsatisfying, the game does also benefit from having less freedom for recruits, for example it never really made much sense that you could split the blue lions up due to their prior history.
