Hey @Farket im from the northeast of the Unite States and I can confirm that it can snow and rain at the same time. We call it a wintery mix or sleet which creates a slush on the ground which is extremely slippery and extremely dangerous. If your real lucky then you can have it snowing and thunder and lightning all at the same time. Its rare but it does happen here.

Would be better if the worm didn’t hunt you down and instead was standing upright and still out in the forest to camouflage as a tree and jump you that way, maybe axes do more damage to them since they’re tree-like.

best way to avoid walls breaking when chopping down a tree to close is just turn off structure damage in the settings and turn it back on when done with the tree
Possible solve for glitch: Check the gear attached to your backpack when you hold it out in front of you, might be something overlapping. Also, Kelvin is GOAT for rock collecting in the winter. Keep up the great streams Farket!

Watching Farket putting logs into his buildings is almost as satisfying as watching this carpet cleaner guy cleaning his carpets. I wonder what it would be like if the carpet cleaner would put logs and Farket would cleaning carpets.

I learned about your 'fun fact' a lot of years back Farket....turns out, they didnt appreciate it at all 🤣🤣🤣
Interesting things about the zipline, so as long as you build the line before building a wall, the log will bypass the wall you made after building the zipline, effectively allowing you to slide logs directly into a log storage area, I found this out a few patches ago so im not sure if this still works, but effectively all you need to do is place down a few log piles, about 9 or 16 depending on how many logs you decide on using and then just make a roof, surrounding walls, and a secondary wall infront of the ending one of the zipline to catch any logs that get pushed through when you send logs up/down the rope at a swifter pace.
Now I want a Farket plays Space Engineers episode and a Splitsie plays Sons of The Forest episode.

im really hoping for a building overhaul or something like that befoe full release cause i find building in the game super hard especially custom builds with all the dependencies

Built my firsf base in the game on that cliff overlooking the lake. The cannibals can and do go down that little crevace in the mountainside if you block the other 2 sides off.

The big cannibals really hate fire. You light em on fire and they will stare at themselves and make little effort to escape when on fire. Walking them with the torch works and Molotovs absolutely wreak them
my idea for a log catcher is having the logholders in a line right under the zipline and as the log travels down the zip line the nearest available log holder grabs it off. until they all fill up and the logs pile up at the end.
Storage: all the log holders your base can hold in a line + the log limit on the pile
in real life when you cut down a tree it "kicks back" and can hurt people standing the opposite of the direction it's falling in, which is probably what they're simulating with the wall falling
I like watching you play, but I can't play sons of the forest. It doesn't feel enjoyable compared to the first which I can still play

@2.00 hey Farket. Ive found that hitting those worm mutants with 2 or 3 Molotov does a significant amount of damage. Then i finish them off using a stun gun/baton and the Axe. Give it a crack next time mate :)
I feel like someone implemented the unoptimized revolver mesh instead of the game-ready asset and every time you're using it you're pulling out a couple million tris at once, freaking the whole game out.

50+ hours into this game and I just now realized that the temporary shelters can be dismantled. I had just never thought to try it.....
Isn’t that funny? Makes you question why you can even hold more than one tarp. Who would ever not dismantle them after using them.

Rain + snow = sleet. Happens all the time in the northern hemisphere.
I suggest making the steep ramps steps. Might fix Calvin, think it will look a lot better also.

You could do a similar glitch in the forest but it required multiplayer. Not really sure how it worked, but basically by smashing the pickup and drop button simultaneously on a log holder while carrying a log, you’d place one in the storage and drop another on the ground beside you, essentially turning one into two. You could repeat this but it was really finicky just to get working. It couldn’t be done by the host of the world.
If the log cart can auto catch logs like the holder that will make it very easy to move log collection spots. Also at 14:14 big guy only took 2 pieces of armor for a hit and a skinny does around 5. That seriously needs some adjustments.
I said the Q word in a nursing home on a full moon my first night on the job. I had to do the dirty jobs that everyone hates for a week. The moment I said the word everyone in the dinning hall went out of their mind nuts. So yes do not say the Q word.😅

We played last weekend and experienced bunches of lag at times as well. We have about 40 hours play time in, and it was the first time noticing any sort of lag.

best way to put stick spikes is on stairs or wood floors last I played, you can put so many next to each other and you don't even need defense walls maybe

If the log holders are only going to fill up in a line, then it's probably better to use a 2x6 or 3x6.
Although it'll be easier to jus use 2-3 ziplines for the entire 5x5 or 6x6.

I don't think the gliders respawn btw, you have to keep track of them because they stay where you leave it

Hey, use the taser to stun the Slinky then switch to the samurai sword and finish them off. There is not an advantage to holding the stun gun while they are immobilized. One stun gun ammo per Slinky is a good deal

For the wormy Joe, use stun gun. Shoot him once, swap to modern axe and keep swinging. Katana is a far better weapon tho.
Stun baton's stun is like 5 times shorter than stun gun's.

Good morning, Farket. Here’s an episode idea if you looking for more ideas. Perhaps you could build a zip line system that traverses up and over the mountain? Might be a good transportation system to and from both sides of the island without having to walk/Knight V around it.
I think the reason why Sons of the Forest's tree cutting feels so much less fun is because of the mindset that one does it with in comparison to The Forest. For example:
In The Forest: "Oh, I've gotta cut logs to build [insert thing]; that's fine though, I've got a log cart and the interruptions are very rarely annoying. Maybe I could liven it up with some explosions, see them all topple down, or do some cool temporary base thing to really collect as many as I can in one go."
In Sons of The Forest: "Welp, looks like I've gotta collect logs. Let's just hope that the devs put in that log cart sometime soon, or that I don't get attacked by literally any enemy and have my armor erased, or a tree doesn't topple a nautical mile away from a structure of mine and banish a solid chunk of it to the shadow realm. I'd literally rather do anything else, but it's just a necessity."

NPC's can't use ramps, you have to turn them into stairs if you want Kelvin and Virginia to use them. But they still get stuck here n there.
3:55 ikr, I run the game on a 1660 super and when winter comes around it can drop into the low 30s but during the summer and spring I get around 55 to 60

I live in Austria and here we call it "Snowrain", at a certain Temprature (around 1-3°C) it can snow and rain at the same time. Very dangerous on the roads and a really pain in the butt.

I've gotten logs to duplicate from the zipline, they have to fall between two side by side holders lol hope this is fixed next update it makes it so hard to play fairly.

Skin Pouch thing is a glitch. Restarting the game fixes it.
All you might need to do from the visual glitch is change your FOV.
