Thank you! I'm a Cleveland resident and used your video to learn about our hometown with our home schoolers.

Thank you very much! Glad you liked the video and it brought back great memories! I live nearby Cleveland but from Youngstown/Warren area which is near PGH - my dad was a steelworker for Republic/LTV back in the day and during the time you were in PGH. I lived in Vallejo, Ca for a short time after college and worked in San Fran. Loved San Fran! Best regards!

Great video. I’m from Northeast Ohio originally and have been to Cleveland many times. One suggestion I have for you: if there is a shot with several tags for buildings, don’t be afraid to keep those up for a bit. It takes a while to read through them all. Thanks for the vid!

Thank you very much for watching and sending a comment. Still working on timing of how long to leave a label/tag. Getting better with time. Thanks again and best regards.

In summer of 2011 I was passenger on a Polsteam Bulk Freighter that stayed at the Port of Cleveland for a few days. I have a photo of the ship "Isolda" that I took from the observation deck of the tower and also a photo of the tower at twilight all lit up in pink. Beautiful. Just a few days in a long life. Not sure if if I'll ever visit Cleveland again - I'm from UK. I also visited the historic lake freighter "William G Mather" which appears in the video if you know where to look.

Inside the Terminal Tower was Higbees. When I visited a few years back, I went inside the Jack casino and I could smell the Higbees department store aroma. I don't know if it was just a memory smell or if it was embedded into the foundation. Do the Van Sweragens still have a law firm inside the tower?

Hey there! Thanks for watching, glad you liked it. I’m not sure if that law firm is still there. I am glad though that they reopened this observation area! Would love to see it at night. Thanks again and best regards.

It was cool working in the Terminal Tower back when Higbee's (and May Co. across the street) was still operating. To answer your question, the Van Sweringen brothers were heavily invested in the railroad business and went bankrupt during the Great Depression, but not before they built the suburb of Shaker Heights.

One day I will get to go up there. It is my home town.

You will surely get there one day! We live near Cleveland. This was my first time at the Observation Deck. Well worth the $5 (plus fees) for the views. They limit you to about 15 minutes which is okay and plenty of time to see most everything. Would love to do this at Christmastime. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it!
