Btw. if you´re going to use the unmaking arrow. Wait for him to get to the beach. He will stop at the same spot, but all those spikes inside are wakestone shards. If he drops them to the water, they´re lost, but you can collect them if you wait till he's on the beach.

I jumped on his back right on the first island and then destroyed all of the crystals as a thief. There are spots where you can rest
You can jump onto the colossus before he throws the spear breaking the bridge, his right hand passes close enough to the surface for you to jump on, you can use the sorcerer's augural flare + high levin combo or use the thief's powder charge, both give fast results, same as the archer
No where does it say to fight the monster. It says to bring the godsbane to phaesus so ran all the way to the excavation site only for it be locked and I can't get in.
You get two unmaking arrows in the game, one can be used on the colossus, no waste there
the one on the back of the foot just won't break. all others broke in one or two shots...... I've got my full team smacking it along with rando npc and me spamming attacks

Imagine doing the unmaking arrow route… only for a harpy or other flyer crossing the arrow path at the wrong time.

I broke all the spike parts with ease but then the last one just wouldn't break and I was hitting it for like 5 minutes when the others were gone in under 30 seconds. I got scammed lol.
I had the same issue first try. 2nd try I petrified it and still didn't get the trophy

Sphinx if you're low level since she's a dps check. The final bosses would probably be a comfy choice too but then you miss out on a big fight lol

Only this guy and Sphinx are worth for using the unmaking arrow. So use it. Just wait for it to come out of water because we can loot wakestone shards from those pins.

@@edmaister Around 2 I would say. He dropped like 7 wakestone SHARDs and you need 3 of those to make 1 wakestone
I dont know if my actual game is bugged, but i fucking missed this fight.... The people on the coast have killed it themselves...
Wait for him to get to the beach to start killing him, if you knock the crystals into the water you won’t be able to loot them, each of them are wakestones, you’ll just be throwing loot away for no reason.
I think you can go to forger to make the unmaking arrow as a duplicate?!

Couldnt you just save at an inn, kill the boss with an insta-kill arrow, get the achievement, then reload inn save so that you dont waste the arrow?

you can go around it like the normal. There is a path in the water on the right side leading to the mountain past the bridge. You´ll meet the colosus again on the beach there
What happens if you just let it reach its destination?

spoiler but you get that achievement automatically when you return to Gigantus in the true ending post-world.

i missed this entire boss fight because the goddamn game decided to go ahead with it even though i was nowhere near it AND i wasn't allowed to use portcrystals that i had placed near its location
the game won't progress this quest unless you start it. I'm at over 100 hours in doing various things and am just now doing this.
@@tkyler65 it actually does happen I was down south, exploring a cave and then video played of him getting out of the water
@@tkyler65 If you head anywhere near Volcanic Island it triggers.
@@CrimsonFIame that's not true in the slightest, it only triggers once you start the quest "a new godsway". i ran allllll around the volcanic island doing various sidequests and exploring. That quest is the trigger, not where you're at.

I'm pissed I totally missed my chance to take out the gigantis with the Medusa head because the quest started automatically and I was on a whole nother quest and I rushed and try to get the Medusa head out and get to where he was at by then it was too late and my Medusa head wound up getting decayed

I did it with magic archer the first time. Hit an issue with 1 of the spikes becoming immortal and just eating unlimited DMG for 5 min

Yes it will completely turn a stone giant into stone. I'm not kidding it will destroy it. So cool.
Don't do this because you will not be able to get the second achievement for him post-game. Using the Medusa head will destroy him forever permanently.
If you have a Medusa head preserved not Withard you can just take that and go to him and he'll turn the stone
That's not good advice. And then you can't get the other achievement after that.....

Just use the unmaking arrow ,It’s better for the endgame will save you a lot of time when it comes to evacuating cities and killing the unique bosses

If you did Gigantus will not appear on Unmoored world. Fuck this. I followed this one and I can't see Talos on Unmoored World and this will be the only trophy I'll be missing simply because I followed this comment. You can use the Medusa head but it's not worth going to end game and doing another whole playthrough for the Platinum.
Don't follow this unless you want to do another playthrough. The Giant will not appear - tried searching the whole map, nada.

Don't shoot the arrow while he's in the water, that's just bad advice. Let him take 2 steps into the beach then fire. You get the achievement, and the wakestones from the spikes and you can get the other achievement in umoored world. Don't use the Medusa head either, that's bad advice like listening to people to use the ring to get the Medusa head. People need to stop spreading nonsense
The whole sphinx ring thing is kinda understandable to be honest, the thing is, the Medusa must be stuned/knocked down for you to chop off its head. From my experience of course. The ring just makes you stun her without dealing too much damage
