Sunak went to school at Winchester college which was near enough to his home to travel daily, until then I think he had a normal middle class upbringing. Mum a pharmacist and dad an NHS doctor.
My brother & I had to go to boarding school as our parents lived overseas in countries that didn't have suitable education. My brother went at 7 & I was 9. It was so confusing as no-one told you what the rules were until you broke a rule & got punished & we couldn't just call our parents...letter writing was once a week & all letters were checked in case you wrote how horrible it was. The food was disgusting... I hated boarding school! I didn't want my kids to go to boarding school at all but my daughter ended up going to Ballet School...she was happy but I was in the same country & she could come home for weekends...after 2 hours of ballet followed by double science on Saturday mornings!
Im suffering from heightened sense of smell and making me so unwell. As well as mould allergy. Going through hell. Have to move home. This happened after menopause but ive had childhood trauma as well. Also suffering from Lupus and Fibromyalgia. I feel the trauma has made me severely ill.
Hi Kathy - I was at a restaurant in Brittany last week [visiting my sister] and one restaurant had scented candles on each table. Thats a very odd thing to do, it really does mess with your tastebuds. Anyway, great to see you looking well - especially your eyes which look clear and bright - no more red. Good for you. D
Eight years old do not have the emotional ability to express how they feel . Also it is often described as a privilege to go to boarding school and it would be deemed ungrateful to complain. I read the book boarding school syndrome. Yes it is very sad. But how to support those who have been? Yes the students are schooled to believe they can do….. and that’s why they are leaders. They are given the belief to be able to do so. As for compartmentalising. It’s necessary for the child to survive? Some excel at sport and thrive. For many bullying was rife and has moulded and damaged them. The boarding school syndrome have dedicated psychological support and it’s good. You do need to be able to afford it!
I cannot use scents in my home at all. And totally stay away from any dish soaps or cleaners with orange added to it. And recently can only be in a store maybe 30 minutes and the coughing and sneezing will start. So of course now people will think. She must be sick!!
I got this in 2022 after 18 years of severe migraines. I can smell what people next door are doing washing hair brushing teeth 😬 it's horrible. Its hard to eat if some starts brushing teeth I've to throw the food away. I wish I'd lose my sense of smell. No I'm not pregnant. I can slow taste smells. Makes eating less enjoyable.

Love seeing your gorgeous garden always cheers me up sitting in pain but feel perked up now so sad about the young girls and boarding school 🏫 .
