Do you think you could do a video about the sacrifices it took to get their Ivy League schools & what their pre-college journey was like? Also dealing with the stigma of working hard for something & people trying to slide you for it? Lastly how they’re bracing for possibly even bigger goes in the future. If they’re comfortable with talking about it that is!
The Slimey Cafeteria Thanks for bringing this up! I actually checked and believe this applies to a) public gatherings b) the actual anthem (and not a rendition/cover like I did) and c) in this case I’m acting as a representative internationally (which was one of the exceptions). This is my understanding of it but at the end of the day, I mean this with the utmost respect and pride for our country. Thank you sm for your support too❤️ www.manilatimes.net/2018/06/09/legal-advice/dearpao/the-singing-of-the-philippine-national-anthem/406545/
Can you do an episode interviewing Native American students in the Ivy League?? Ask about transitioning from reservation, what they’re majoring in and tribe they’re from, culture shock, a Native American program at their ivy, and financial resources that have helped them?
OMG I’m applying to American universities this year from Ireland this was so helpful dream schools are brown , duke and usc❤️ so nervous but I hope I get in
I’m Irish and I’m going to start studying at Columbia this academic year (when I’ll be in New York, who knows) so this video is a blessing!!! Thank you!
Guysss... this is literally a solid show!!!! It’s informative, fresh, entertaining, well-thought out, incredible! I’m sort of an int’l student starting this fall, so this is a great help. Thanks Domonique❤️!!!
I'm applying to American universities next year, wish me luck :). Thank you for this incredible show, so far it has been very helpful in terms of campus life and culture.
I'm applying to college this year!!! Omg I'm so excited and I really hope I'll get in. I'm italian guys and this video just inspired me so freaking much.
Thank you so much Dom for this, exciting ✨ South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦represent. Lmao what I can say though with LJs perspective on schools striking (it’s not an event that happens allot, UCT (which I must say as a non UCT student, it’s the best university in Africa. And they at the time were protesting for the fall in fees because they’re literally so ridiculous here). I’m glad we had LJ innit though ❤️❤️
Watching this as an international student with an American citizenship makes me realise how lucky I am. I'm so glad I have a social security number, no need for a VISA, I-20, and I'll be able to get a job without the hassle. Phew.
Oh my goodness I used to live in South Africa, so I knew the entire anthem. I don't even know my own nation's one hahah. Great video btw! For the next one, could you talk about internships and leadership opportunities that Ivy League students participated in during high school.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! As an international student who wants to apply from Colombia (South America), this video was very eye opening, I learned a bunch of new concepts which are fundamental to pick up. This was super helpful, keep up the good work!
Hey Domonique! If it's possible for the next episode, could you ask them about any activities/extracurriculars that they did back at home during their high school careers, which they think helped their application? It would be interesting to know, thanks!
This show is really cool and informative. I think it would be also really cool if you could also add some other non ivy league schools like mit and stanford. Maybe not in this show but in something because it would be nice to hear from people who go to those schools as well.
Im a Gr10 student in South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦and my school doesn't offer AP classes. Please ask LJ if he had any AP classes and if not how was his application process different and was he affected by this?
The "University of Central Florida" is an excellent university that is diverse and extremely enjoyable! ....And the student life is amazing. I love seeing foreign students experience American universities and the activities, clubs and sports culture. It is very different from other countries.
that was AMAZING content!!!! Would you ask them next time the pros and con of their education in terms of finding a job?? in the US/ home country/ other countries
I felt proud that there were two Africans, especially Kenyan, because my father was an international student from Senegal 🇸🇳 and Senegal and Kenya 🇰🇪 are both in West Africa (they’re super close) It just made me proud to see a fellow West African and African in general to thrive at an Ivy League university 👏🏾 ❤️
As a South African I am interested in the application process LJ went through to get into Penn . And are American barbecues better than a South African braai
American barbecues are no where near as good as Braai's. Whether its the flavoring of the food (flavoring things is none existent here) , the vibe on the day, or even when they bbq it does compare to braai's. You also tend to miss the small things in braai's like the strictly South African delicacies.
OMG I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! Could you do a video on international students that could not get into an ivy league at first but ended up transferring from an other American University please.
Hey Dom. This series has been super helpful!! I’m a rising senior, from London, and going to be applying early decision to Columbia in the autumn, and was wondering if you could ask about how they felt it was making friends. I’m scared I’m going to find it difficult to make friends etc. Thank you x
You missed representation from Latin America :( I think it is so different being a US-born Latinos studying in US universities vs. people born in Latin America that go study to the US. I am from Venezuel and I was able to get a scholarship to a US college going through challenges from the huge factor of being need-aware to many of us escaping corruption and crises in our countries to obtain an education.
Hey Domonique, huge fan we share the same name. 🤗 I think what you're doing is awesome, you're an inspiration. I have a question for to Lauren especially. I live in St. Kitts (Caribbean Representation we stan). When did she apply? Did she go straight from high school or what? How did application work for her especially. Thanks.
Hi Dom! Could the cast answer this question in the next video...As international students in the ivies, do they think that their experiences could be similar to all the other students in all the colleges and universities throughout the US? Also, a big shoutout to Ronnie since I'm also Kenyan (:
Heyyy I absolutely love this but I feel like I miss out on a lot of important points because I cant hear what they’re saying, if there’s any way to add captions to these at some point it would be greatly appreciated
Can you do episode with international students from CIS countries or countries where people don’t speak English, so how they broke a language barrier? Thank you for all you are doing
You guys kinda touched on the pandemic but with classes being online and international boarders shutting down and with trumps new rules ,are you nervous to be “stuck in one country”. Also any funny time difference story’s like taking an exam at 3am?

Thank you for the episode. I really enjoyed it!
