  • Finding a good solid load for my Ar-10 creedmoor with a 24” mcgowen barrel on it. Using 140gr bthp Hornady to duplicate the accuracy I hd when breaking in the barrel with factory ammo.

Crazy, I’m getting those velocities out of a 20” stainless with imr4350 at around the same charges, 41.5 was around 2670fps, no suppressor on my gasser. Nice group.

Why are you measuring the lands are if your loading to mag length? Your overall mag length will be your arbitrary number to start your seating depth testing.

Always want to make sure you know where the lands are with the bullets you are loading. I have many cartridges that have bullets that hit the lands before mag length better to be safe than sorry.

True. Plus mag length can vary by manufacturer of the magazine. I always like to know how close my current mag length is to the lands on AR-15s as well.

you have any issue with bullets pushing back? most 6.5 bullets ive been seeing dont have cannelures

I have not that would be a neck tension issue and most of the time that only becomes an issue with straight wall as they need to be crimped. Can crimp any cartridge you want and the projectile doesn’t need cannelure to do so either. But I have about 2.5-4 thousandths of neck tension on all my bottle neck stuff I reload and have not had an issue.

41.3-41.6 would be the best choice for me. I Havnt had time to verify with 5 shots of the charges

@@theaveragereloader7222 thank you! I just switched it to a 308 upper / 18 in Ballistic advantage bc it was being a pain and rather use bullets i have on hand at the moment but will def try this for later!
