Possibly the best original short MST3K ever covered.
    And the saddest.

I find it remarkable, in very positive sense, that a Class 1 railroad used this theme, in it's safety film.
What truly a travesty that the culture today has sided with the enemy. God bless all railroad workers!

Profit over safety is going to end bad

Powerful film exemplifies there’s NO going back, no replay, no second chance.
And the stakes are high for all involved. 😢

60 years on, messages as relevant as they ever were.

Out of all of them, George’s case has to be the most sympathetic. The other two caused it themselves by sheer carelessness or forgetfulness.
But not George, he was determined to get his job done or bust. And no one is able to know when you’re going to have a heart attack

I love the way the man yelled when the heart-attack engineer's train hit the boxcar and the yelling man fell off. "YYAAAHHHH!!!"

Not understanding why Lennie won't forgive George. George was having a medical emergency and thus couldn't properly attend to Fred's safety. Can't Lennie see that? Or did I miss something?

"Reverend, I'm having a crisis of faith, what do I do?"
    "Wear safety goggles, my son".

In the end, A Train is more powerful than Any road Vehicle or person.
Also remember, in the end, those who stick close to Christ and have a True relationship will him will have the benefit of living for Eternity in Heaven with him after death on earth. And in Heaven, their is no Sickness, No Blindness, no Lameness, and no pain or suffering of any kind.

So, the leading causes of accidents are joy, sex, and old age?

Watch the "MST-3K" version. It's MUCH funnier. I love the last line by Mike, "Worship at the railroad of your choice."

That was a different UP safety video: Last Clear Chance. But they would have done well with this one, too.

You really think so? There was less stress on safety because there was more critical thinking. Nowadays you have to go through a safety course to use scissors.

Thus the religious theme of the video.
