  • People with disabilities are one of the most vulnerable groups in Cambodia. Stigmatised by society, many live in extreme poverty without the means to improve their living conditions or attain their educational goals.
AMS CEO, Rebecca Bromhead spoke live to Br Tony Burrows, Executive Director of Marist Solidarity Cambodia. This project offers children and young adults with physical disabilities accommodation whilst they undertake secondary education beyond LaValla School.
The construction of eight student houses and four general facility buildings were completed in 2019 and opened on 21 November, 2019. These facilities offer local staff and students professional care and opportunity at a level not generally known in Cambodia. Far more than a residential village for young Cambodians with disabilities, it is a place where they will be cared for, guided and challenged. The aim is to support these young people in their efforts to go as far as they can go. Many donors have helped make this village a reality.
