Hey! Thank you for making this video. If anyone says “oh this is common sense stuff!” It’s not, especially for a new Mom with postpartum depression or other emotional disturbance that makes it difficult for her to connect with her baby, and has trouble giving and reading emotional cues. Watching an example of an interaction like this with your daughter is so helpful. So thank you.
Athena Antal this comment spoke to me. I have postpartum depression and I’m a first time mom and I don’t know how to play with my 3 month old so this video is so helpful!
I have been a pediatric physiotherapist for 25 years. DO NOT lift up the baby from lying down to sitting by holding her hands!! This is a test, " pull to sit" , pediatrician or therapists might do, but if there is a delayed or (risk for) atypical development eg due to prematurity , Trisomy 21... DEFINITELY NOT recommended as play or exercise, especially if baby's arms flex and/or pull back strongly. (Alternative: pick up/ put down over the side to promote head control, core strengthening, rolling, arm support hence pre tripod sitting...)
I have tried and tried tummy time since my son was 3 mo old. He's now 4 mo and is not advanced as he should. Cause he cries so hard every time. I tried the rolling technique on to the tummy like your vid and he loved it! I never seen him so happy to do tummy time as long as he gets to roll over. Haha Thanks so much for posting! you helped out a new mom over here. 😁
@@imperfectcortez7749 thank you so much for your answer my baby just turned 3 monthe and dont hold his head when on his tummy but he do when in my chest
I'm a mom of a 10 and 11 year old and we know have a 3 month old baby girl. I do all of these same exact things with her. She also has a toy that lights up and sings with blocks and this is definitely her favorite thing right now. She loves looking at the lights and loves any kind of music. I know this video is older but TFS
Thank you so much for sharing your tips with us. She is gorgeous and so strong!! I have a 3 month old too, and he doesn't like tummy time. I'll try your tips with him. 😊
i really related to your video, sophia just turned 3 months yesterday. she is my first and last, she is amazing and being a first time mom i wanted to see how other 3 month old babies were coming along compared to my sophia. Riley and sophia have a lot in common with loving to roll, enjoying a lite cloth across her face and kicking when they are happy. i just wanted to say thanks. Riley is a doll!
+Michele Dean awww you are welcome and THANK YOU for watching and sharing that! I can relate to you wanting to compare - I always did and do the same thing - watching videos of other babies a similar age to my daughter. I also enjoyed looking at videos of babies a month ahead of my daughter to get an idea of what I might be able to expect (plus it gave me ideas on what to focus on with playing and what not for her development). Of course when I say compare I don't mean it in a negative way. I understand all babies are different and do things in their own time, but it's still fun to see how similar aged babies are .
Thank you! What an adorable baby. You and she are having fun together. There's one thing I don't agree with - that I learned from Magda Gerber and her work in Resources for Infant Educarers. If the baby has lots of time to lay and kick her legs - like your baby is doing, she will learn to roll over without your help. Signed, grandma in Minneapolis
So refreshing to listen to you and watch you two interact.... Doesn't seem like deliberate acting like most other videos! My 3 month old is my third baby and although many things come naturally, one forgets! So glad I found you xxx
I’m a childcare worker and I just got a 3 month old in my classroom yesterday (previously the youngest I’d had was 11 months old) and outside of the play mat, I wasn’t sure what to do with them! Your video was so helpful, I have a much better idea of how to play with them now 🥰 Thank you!
That’s terrible. Not you. Just the fact that parents can dump their children and babies in a daycare with strangers. Freaking terrible. I hope you’re a good women and show them some sort of attention. I’m guessing your are since you’re watching this video.
I adopted my daughter from Korea at 3 months of age. She is now a grown woman with two children of her own. When her eldest was this age she started doing this thing you do w a soft light flannel baby blanket and my grandson loved it and it calmed him. We happened to see months later that many Korean mommies do this culturally but we didn't know that. Cool to see some things are universal and maybe all things we can learn from each other
+Renee Mueller I'm actually half Korean 😬. But that fact has nothing to do with me doing the blanket thing, I don't remember where I learned it from but I know it wasn't from my mom (my Korean 1/2). I do agree the world is becoming increasingly universal, especially with the internet!
Thank you, this helped me some. some of this I already do so it's good to know i kind of know what I'm doing haha. my daughter has not started grasping yet at 14 weeks but she tries to sit up all the time.
Thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful. My baby will be 3 months this weekend(13 weeks, like yours in the video). I did the things you did and my daughter loved them, the blanket, the rolling over.....I never would have thought of them. I'm glad I watched your video before it's too late.

+Dreamdream27 maybe you have just been fortunate enough to have always had and be around babies that in enjoy it - it may not make sense to you but it is very common (like 1/2 the mommas I know have struggled with it!) for babies to not enjoy tummy time!
Dreamdream27 she was 'early-term' so not necessarily premature, but definitely early(*but doctors were suspecting heart issues during pregnancy, but it was dismissed everything when able to look at baby😊 when my baby girl was able to come home, she still needed assistance breathing.... but that has since been dismissed too)☺️ So things had prolonged my doing things with her for what seemed like the longest time... but glad she's a happy, healthy, sweet baby girl😊

I forgot about that one. Yes, a helium filled balloon loosely slip knotted around a wrist or ankle, with supervision of course, gets them so excited. I used to do that with my babies after birthdays or special occasions when I happened to have a balloon around.
Mrs. what about Patty-cake, peekaboo, and also hide-and-seek as additional baby-games? I apologize for the lateness of this reply, only running across this video this year.
Thanks for the video!! My daughter is 3 months oct 29. I am looking for more ways to help with my daughter development. She is advanced at her age according to her doctor. But my daughter hates tummy time. So I am looking for creative ways to help her enjoy it.
I like to show him the different animals say what they are and make the noises but the one thing he really seems to love is I generally do this in the morning but I’ll lay him say and start talking to him and ask him if he can woo or different sounds I will only do one sound at a time but I might repeat ones he already knows and if he gets it I’ll give him lots of kisses and tell him how good he is or I put a toy on his chest and let him grab it I am only do soft toys and rattles as he has a habit atm of throwing it on his face just so you know

My son is turning 3 months on oct 29 aswell 🥰
Oh my 😍😍😍 We have the same Play gym . Love your videos its really helpful . 💖 Love from the Philippines 💖
I like to show him the different animals say what they are and make the noises but the one thing he really seems to love is I generally do this in the morning but I’ll lay him say and start talking to him and ask him if he can woo or different sounds I will only do one sound at a time but I might repeat ones he already knows and if he gets it I’ll give him lots of kisses and tell him how good he is or I put a toy on his chest and let him grab it I am only do soft toys and rattles as he has a habit atm of throwing it on his face just so you know
Great video. My daughter turned 3months, last week & this video was helpful.
