Very nice. I was watching your video about the clogging issue you were having and how you fixed it with the engineers help. I saw your motor lift in that video and began searching for it. Being 70 I can see where that would come in handy
They must think customers are all able to pick up 100 pounds. This is a backsaver for the larger blower. They keep putting bigger and bigger blowers on them with no thought about storing the unit which is a main selling point. Thanks for watching.
You are an absolute innovative GENIUS!! Of course having all your tools, machinery and equipment (something most of us don't have) is a big help! Keep up the GREAT videos!
I agree with the weight of this engine assembly - Plus, because of the weight, it is awkward to set it in place after you do pick it up. I was thinking of getting an engine hoist from harbor freight to lift it, but trying to justify what else I could use the lift for! You should patent your idea and offer to build them for Woodland Products for their Cyclone Rakes!
Thanks - I thought of that as well. Less expensive, won't take up any room and although it would not be as mobile as a "cherry picker", I could still relocate the hook as needed!
My cherry picker weighs over 300 pounds so its a pain to move around. I can't believe they say a person can safely pick the blower off and haven't provided a way to unhitch it. Thanks for watching.
Nice job. Buying a Z-10 today. CNC plasma cutter + your practical ideas are a a crazy-good mix! I'm a subscriber for life (or until I become too jealous of your plasma cutter! LOL).
I designed and built that to learn about cnc years ago. Turned out the torch height control and grounding made it quite a challenge. About 2 years ago I built a cnc router from some parts that were laying around. I started a arduino control box for a cnc wood lathe I will finish up this winter, & just ordered a low cost 3d printer for some ideas I want to share. It is a slippery slope once you get started.
You could also use a fixed height bracket, roll it up to and under the blower assembly, and then use the Cyclone jack to lower the frame. But it’s a neat idea. Thanks!
Sir are you a machinist? You barn has everything. CNC plasma cutter, lathe etc. I want to come over your house and play haha. Joking aside you are gifted person. I enjoy watching you machine stuff. I am a machinist by trade. I worked in the shipbuilding trade. Got out to go with my wife who was in the Air Force. I have been tempted to get the mini lathe from HF. My favorite place to shop haha. Keep up the good work!
No, I used to be a mechanical engineer. I designed and built the plasma table to learn how to use the old lathe & mill that I got a good deal on with boxes of tooling. That took some time, but I basically learned how to use the machines while building it. If you can find a old lathe with tooling that may save you some money in the long run, because as you know the tooling is the expensive part. I used to go to sears for my tools, but now like you Harbor Freight is the first place I go. Thank you, & thank you for wtching my videos.
The same 2,500 lb Harbor Freight Winch you have for your logging equipment. I have in the ceiling of my garage shop. At the moment it just goes up and down. Very handy. All my carts and tools are on wheels. I have already bought wheels for an overhead wall to wall Gantry system. So, soon I will have an X,Y,Z axis Overhead gantry for (Material Handling) has come in SO handy. Air Compressors, a generator, off and on the truck. Best $50 bucks I have spent. After seeing your video about the winch staying on and causing a problem. I will put a manual cut off switch corded that will be handy at all times. The winch is disconnected from power when not in use.
I would not trust that winch for overhead lifting. The cable that came on mine was not rated for the pull of the winch and as you saw it switched on by itself and was able to snap the factory cable. They sell one that is rated for overhead lifting that may be a safer choice for a gantry system when you get it built.
I know and I am aware of those issues. For now the unit only moves about 100lbs - 200lbs on occasion about 32" or less for only a few minutes. I have now installed a cut off switch when the unit is live on the remote. When "not" in use no power to the unit is on. As was always the case. After seeing your video with power on "WOW" switch installed. Hopefully you had it under warranty. Mostly it is a concept method for the heavier stuff later. Which will be a chain hoist for the heavy stuff. A rated hoist for normal operations. I got to tell you it is so nice knowing this is available and not needing someone else to give you a hand. Here is a link to the Gantry wheels that I have already purchased they have their own grease fitting already installed. Rated at 1,000lbs (each). Reasonably priced. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X6D7Z74/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The frame for it is still pending. Should be done this month. It is not something I need all the time but when you need a hand very nice. Thanks again for pointing out safety issues. I am retired military and my other half works in the ER we are aware and always take precautions. On a side note. A gentleman bought the 12,000lb unit to pull trees on his property.
I bought the electric pallet lift off eBay years ago for unloading trucks and that is a handy helper. Didn't cost much and it rolls around pretty easy.
Good for you. I looked yours up the ones I saw were pricey. Surprised that you don't have an earth type loading and off loading berm. My Grandfather's came in handy on the farm for all kinds of reasons. Like I said the material handling market is under served for the home market. I miss the all terrain forklifts I used to drive in the military. Those were great.
I just discovered your channel( the spice rack video) and i must say i really enjoy your videos. You are very good problem solver. Im very likely to build a version of that spice rack.
Glad that you enjoy the videos. That is what RUclips is about, sharing ideas that others may be able to adapt to their needs. Thanks for watching my videos.
Thanks. I think most people that buy the Z10 must just leave it together and buy the jack from what I have seen online. I think it would be a very limited market, but with a good redesign to replace the Harbor Freight jack and some formed up sheetmetal it would be fairly easy to manufacture.
the cyclone classic i got is 20 years old of 2020 the motor unit plus the upgraded 5 blade impeller slightly heavy to lift to get it on the chassis if its an Xl or Z10 models the engines are heavy even more heavier with the electric start they now offer. mine i repowered with a 212cc predator motor its a bit lighter but down the road for reliability may put a Honda engine on it as the original tecumseh engine was too underpowered governer maxed out on full load. as i don't want to make it heavier was hurt in an accident be best to upgrade mine than buying a whole new machine and fabing a lift for the engine
Hey there, I’m a carpenter by trade, I’ve built homes worked on commercial and industrial jobs, consider my self handy! But is there anything you can not do! I really enjoy your videos, you have some excellent ideas, keep you tubeing!,,
Thanks. The more tools you acquire the more projects you can attack. It is all a mater of not being afraid to try something new and willing to learn from your mistakes. Plus it helps to have time to complete a project. Thanks for watching.
I have a loader on my other tractor , but the Cyclone Rake has to be hitched to the back of the tractor before the blower can be put in place and it would need a special harness to avoid damaging anything. This lift makes it a 30 second job with no chance of damaging anything. I could not live without the loader on my Deere 4100.
Been thinking about getting one of these Cyclone Rakes to help with leaf cleanup on some property my family has. Probably get the Z10 for use on our Simplicity garden tractor, which is around 23/26hp if I remember right. I saw your earlier video of the rake clogging and that you were working with them on the issue. What was the ultimate solution? Also, do you have any concerns about using this thing on a hill? Our property is fairly hilly and I saw another video where the guy was concerned about the weight of the bin when on a hill and recommended always working up/down vs. across the hill, but that won't always be possible for me, and you'd still have to turn around.
Cyclone rake has switched me over to a10 hp 8 inch system for the type of grass that I have and it is now working good. They have great customer support. I have a hill and I go up and down and always leave my Kubota in 4wd on the hill because it can drag you sideways pretty easy when the bag starts filling and you try to turn. Plus 4wd giives you brakes on the front wheels to stop. I would not try and turn on a hill with it hooked up. I will be posting a new video shortly.
It really makes handling the blower a easy job. I just shared the idea for others to build off and do not build these to sell. There seems to be a lot of interest in the lift and hopefully Cyclone Rake will offer some way to handle the blower in the future. Thanks for watching.
I do have another question. The lights for the router plates. Which dollar store and in what section? I checked one and couldn't find it. Not to mention though I think that store not to many people used reading lights, and what was the cost? I did see them on Amazon for $10.99 each with free shipping.
Sorry I do not make anything to sell, only share the ideas. You may want to check with cyclone rake as l think they were working on something similar after seeing my video. Thanks for watching.
10 years ago I got laid off from my last job and it has been the best 10 years of my life. You have time to learn new things and wake up every morning saying what am I going to do today. It also forces you to become more self sufficent. Just start saving early because the cost of healthcare is out of control.
Very nice. I was watching your video about the clogging issue you were having and how you fixed it with the engineers help. I saw your motor lift in that video and began searching for it. Being 70 I can see where that would come in handy

I liked your little Toad, running around. They are good luck. Semper Fi.
We have quite a few around here. Have to be careful not to step on the ones in the garden. Great bug eaters. Thanks for watching.
You are an absolute innovative GENIUS!! Of course having all your tools, machinery and equipment (something most of us don't have) is a big help! Keep up the GREAT videos!
Thanks. just trying to fix things that bother me. That blower is really heavy for one person to safely lift as they advertise. Thanks for watching

I was thinking of getting an engine hoist from harbor freight to lift it, but trying to justify what else I could use the lift for! You should patent your idea and offer to build them for Woodland Products for their Cyclone Rakes!
Another option is a hook in the ceiling and simple rope lift if you can't justify a cherry picker.
Thanks - I thought of that as well. Less expensive, won't take up any room and although it would not be as mobile as a "cherry picker", I could still relocate the hook as needed!
An automotive engine lift cherry picker works great & mine folds up against the wall. Your fabrication works great also.
My cherry picker weighs over 300 pounds so its a pain to move around. I can't believe they say a person can safely pick the blower off and haven't provided a way to unhitch it. Thanks for watching.

Cnc really speeds up projects. Cyclone Rake is a great company to deal with. Thanks for subscribing.

There is no jack on mine so the blower has to be lifted off before disconnecting. Thanks for watching.
Unemployed Redneck Hillbilly Creations I bought mine used and it had the jack, so I thought it was standard.
WOW, you done some job on the liff/dolly. really neat work and the pint job.
Thanks. It was a fun little job.
Outstanding work and design!
It really helps handle the weight safely. Thanks for watching.

Great videos, wish you were my teacher. Great job on the build. Keep up the good work.
Great idea and job making it. You may have to patent that and start selling them. Like it.

looks perfect love for you to do walk around and review of your cnc plasma cutter
I will do that once it warms up out there.
You should offer that for sale. I would definitely be your first customer
Cyclone Rake should offer some like this so people dont get hurt moving the heavy blowers. Thanks for watching.
Nice job!
It makes handling the blower a easy job. Thanks for watching.

This is definitely to heavy for one person to lift. I understand they now put a jack on them for unhitching. Thanks for watching.
Very nice.
Thanks for watching.
That's really nice! I like it!
Thanks.

Nice work.
Thanks Paul. The older I get the more that I try to avoid picking up items that weigh 125 lbs.
If you had a loader for your tractor, you could use it to pull the motor with some straps. Million uses for a loader...
I have a loader on my other tractor , but the Cyclone Rake has to be hitched to the back of the tractor before the blower can be put in place and it would need a special harness to avoid damaging anything. I really think you should be my neighbor. you can really do a nice job. How much for the lift?
Thanks. I do not make the lift to sell, I only made 1 to share the idea. Thanks for watching my video.
+1
Seriously, start selling those lifts! I'd buy one right now

It was my local dollar store. And everything is one dollar. They buy surplus and close everything out. When it gone there is no more.
Can you make me one? I’ll pay for it!
Sorry I do not make anything to sell, only share the ideas. You may want to check with cyclone rake as l think they were working on something similar after seeing my video. Thanks for watching.
Great job u can make u some money from that
Thanks. I just share ideas hoping they will help others trying to solve the same issues. Thanks for watching.
I hope I'm unemployed when I grow up
