I'm a firm believer that there's gotta be some kind of deep-seated corruption in the Ontario construction industry. There's no way delays this bad are just the result of incompetence

@phillydisco I notice every time I pass Eglington and Yonge, the construction workers are barely getting any work done. I only see them chatting and having Tim hortons. This foolishness has been going on for 3 years now.

Well, when you have a former druggie as a Mayor whose brother is now the premier of the province. It doesn't take too long to figure out that corruption is rampant in the building of this line.

This will be great and city changing when its up and running but holy geeze somebody needs to do an audit here to avoid these mistakes for next time and other cities putting in LRT.

I am from Montreal and we've recently inaugurated the REM. This fully automated Light Metro system is an example for using existing infrastructure, rather than building from scratch. This puts our city on the map as a result. Looking at Toronto ... :) it takes more than a decade to get just 20 KM of transit done, whereas, it takes 8 years for 67 KM of Montreal's REM to be constructed.

Lots of issues with the REM . And only a tiny portion to Brossard is operational. They haven't even built the Griffintown station which is on the same like as the Brossard REM. The airport line won't ne ready until 2027-28

@@87lamar87 don't forget that they won't build an extra 700 metres to connect with the Via/Exo station in Dorval. The REM is also steeped with problems.

With that much funds, entire GTA should have been completed and connected to Pearson Airport. This project is perfect example of corruption and negligence of the Government. Misusing of public funds and construction mafia at the highest level. This project would have been completed in no time if it was in Dubai or China. I am sorry for the retail businesses around the area that have been affected by this project. Besides, it is going to be chaos for the traffic as well when it will be operational.

If the Chinese state wants to get something done they get it done. And if by some random chance corruption happens, heads go rolling. Now thats the way
