Anti List: Caving/Spelunking, Scuba Diving, being on a "Reality" TV Show, Walking on Coals, Botox, Burning Man, Ballon Ride, Car Racing, Space Ride, go on anymore Carnaval Rides...maybe a Ferris Wheel, Zip Line, Storm Chase, spend a night in an Ice Castle or for that matter do an ice plunge on New Years, Hot Pepper Challanges or even a Hot Dog eating contest, are a few more that I would add to the same things that are on your list. Great topic!

I agree on the tattoo. I’ve never, ever seen a tattoo on someone and thought “that’s beautiful” or “that’s cool”. It’s usually the thought that the tattoo removes some of their beauty. I see it as a minus not a plus.

I agree. I think tattoos are like graffiti on a building, i.e. a defacement, and think that the only people who can withstand them are those who are already extremely good looking to start with, like Angelina Jolie or David Beckham, and even then their tattoos do nothing for their looks.

Riding on a motorcycle was always on my anti-bucket list, too, until I once found myself dating a motorcycle enthusiast. He wanted me to ride SO much, and I was in love, so finally I was like "Oh . . . alright." Terror. Sheer and utter terror is the only adequate description for how I felt on that 10-mile trek with me holding onto him for dear life doing everything I could possibly do to quell the primal scream fighting to get out. LOL. NEVER. AGAIN.

I never had a desire to visit Vegas until I visited my girlfriend who lives near there in Henderson. I too am an early to bed gal and you can do a lot in Vegas during the day which I did. No crowds! I ate at good restaurants, visited museums, toured casino's and shopped. The only time I was out late was to see a Donny Osmond show and I had front row seats. Oh my heart!

I will be 70 in a couple months. I have ridden/driven a motorcycle, shot guns, floated the Grand Canyon and The Salmon (River of No Return) rivers, ridden a helicopter, backpacked, tent camped, skied, and more. I cannot or will not do almost all of those again. If there is a time for every season, now is my season for less strenuous, and quieter, endeavors. Cruises to Alaska, train rides across Canada, car tours from the Florida Keys up to New England for the Fall leaves. I read War & Peace, Crime & Punishment, and the Dune, Harry Potter, Outlander and the Thomas Covenant Chronicles. Don’t need another long series either. Mainly, I want to do just what I want to do now, and not what my younger self thought of doing. Age well my friends!

I agree with everything on your bucket list - EXCEPT Vegas. I’m not a gambler either, but we went to Vegas to see Elton John at the Coliseum, the last week of his residency there. We had a fantastic time there. The show was incredible. The food scene is phenomenal. We went to Tiffany’s where they allowed me to try on a US$65,000 Diamond ring, just for the heck of it. And we left the strip to explore the Arts district, where nearby there are a ton of vintage shops. And the rest of the time we lounged by the pool - in FEBRUARY! All in all just a way to say, there is so much more to Vegas than gambling.

It was the people watching that turned me off Vegas. You didn't see people smiling or having fun. Spouses arguing, kids crying, there were alot of pawn shops, the best thing was no snow.

Jen, I adore you. That was the best video!
I'm 65, and can honestly say that everything on your anti-bucket list, is on mine. You had my laughing so hard. No way I'd jump out of a plane and skydive nor bungee jump, which my daughter has done.
No tattoos for me, though the same daughter who bungee jumped, got her 1st tattoo when she was 18 (without my knowledge), and at 39, she's covered from the arms down.
I'm not climbing any mountains. I've been in Vegas just for a layover, and I hated just being in the airport for 3 hours. Slot machines everywhere. I'd much rather spend my money on a nice piece of jewelry too!
I'm usually in my pajamas and in my bed by 8, and hopefully asleep by 9, since I'm up by 4.
I traveled alot before my divorce, so there's no place that I'm dying to go to. I just want to stay healthy enough to watch my 2 year old grandson grow up.
By the way, my daughter, the adventurous, tattooed one, is an incredible vegan chef, who was on Beat Bobby Flay, and she did.
Her IG page is quite interesting, and 90% of her customers aren't vegan. Feel free to check her out. On my bucket list as well, would be to eat her meals everyday! @missrachelspantry
Thank you for sharing your video. We could be wonderful friends!❤❤😊

    @jackielouise7538 4 месяца назад +2

Great idea for a video and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.
Here's my take on your list:
    1. I do not ever want to do a bungee jump, no thank you. However, I would consider doing a buddy-jump out of a plane with a parachute. I know I'd be too scared to jump out on my own, but I'd give it a go if I was strapped to an experienced instructor 😊
    2. Nope, I love reading, but I'm not into reading any of those books that you mentioned either.
    3. Why would I want to eat something that could, potentially, kill me??
    4. No, I've never wanted to ride a motorcycle either; not even as a passenger. I have friends and family who have motorbikes and have joined motorbike clubs, but I have never been tempted by it at all.
    5. I've been to New York too and I loved it. I agree with you about Times Square; I was underwhelmed, to say the least. I'm also with you when it comes to celebrating New Year, I'm usually asleep in bed well before midnight 😴
    6. Mountain climbing is something I wouldn't do now at the age of 65. Maybe I might have liked it when I was a lot younger, but, unfortunately, it didn't occur to me to try it back then.
    7. Again, running a marathon is something that I might've enjoyed when I was much younger, if I'd ever thought of giving it a go, but not now.
    8. I went to Las Vegas a few years ago. I didn't particularly want to go as, like you, I don't gamble and just thought that that's all there is to Vegas. My husband at the time wanted to go; so, I agreed to us tagging 4 nights in Vegas onto the end of a holiday in the US. I loved it and wished we had booked to stay there longer! Neither of us were gamblers and so we ignored all the casinos and discovered that there was so much more to do and see. It was great and I would go again if the opportunity arose 😍
    9. I have never, ever wanted to have a tattoo; so, I will never get one. Like you, I'm not frightened of needles, I just don't like the look of them and can't see the attraction of them.
Thank you for another enjoyable and thought provoking video 😊

I’m very conservative with traveling, even though I’m only 44. I went across Canada as a kid and as a teen a few times with family who loved road trips and flying, and we visited Toronto and Montreal all the time, camped in Algonquin… I won’t travel any distance further than 2 hours again in Canada again, now that I’m an adult. I’ll never take a domestic flight again, not even even for funerals (the worst possible reason to travel, imo, and it should be socially acceptable for people to skip any and all funerals or weddings that aren’t taking place in the town where you reside).

I am 59 years old and I love that you call it an anti-bucket list. I just made a list of things I called the things I never need to do. My list and your list are extremely similar. I never have the need to go on an ocean cruise, although I know you have done that. And I have been a passenger on a motorcycle two times and both times I was injured so that didn’t turn out well. One time I burnt my leg on the muffler and another time the driver was passing on the right moving very slowly, but we, ran into a car and injured my knee. Anyway, things that you did not say or on your anti bucket list that are on mine would be hot air balloon ride, scuba diving, karaoke, zip line, and parasailing. And as far as getting a tattoo, like my 30 year-old son says just get it on a T-shirt and wear it when you’re in the mood And guarantee you won’t always be in the mood so why would you get a tattoo that you could never take off? Loved this list.

The mucosal consistency (I'm a texture person) and lack of a taste means I'd prioritize pretty much anything else. I remember it being expensive, too. I love your list! Completely agree. I did read War and Peace the holiday after finishing high school. God knows why I waded through it - I can't say I enjoyed it...
I had to go to Las Vegas once for a conference and I don't gamble. Didn't waste a cent. It was kind of like Disneyland for adults.
Mountains have never appealed: a walk, maybe, but I just don't get struggling to get to the top of a mountain. Hate tattoos and don't see the point of them.
No longer interested in snorkelling (too many sharks here in Australia); don't like things involving speed or height too much (glass bridges, car racing); spending a lot of money to eat fancy food at a restaurant; go anywhere that has really loud music....
And I'd never go scuba diving in a cave, or anywhere at night...
I'm 72, been there, done that, saw the movie, read the book....

We have some similar "not ever in my lifetime" items, but I live very close to Las Vegas and have to say it's one of my favorite places to visit. I love people watching, I love touring the gorgeous resorts on the strip, they have some of the most amazing shows in the world, and of course amazing food. Plus as a single woman I feel safe there, walking around, because of the stringent security. It's basically my happy place, lol.
I also wanted to suggest (if you haven't read already) the Earth's Children series by Jean Auel... Very long series that transports readers to the Ice Age, and it is incredible.

*Anna Karenina* -- and *War and peace* -- are slow-moving (like much of life). I only read bits of them in the hope of learning something. Scanning them is one thing, actually reading them all the way through feels to me like something that belongs in a different era, a time when there were far fewer distractions and complexities.

I nearly fell off my ladder howling with laughter when you mentioned the motorcycle. I was talking out loud to myself about the fish and my favorite hobby, my motorcycle, in a little debate with myself, and then your next topic was ride a motorcycle. You’re right, it’s risky. I don’t disagree at all. I think about the risk a lot, but I do love it. My BFF rides a trike, and we’re both retired now and have long distance trips planned for Autumn. This was a fun discussion.

French) and the six months it took me to read it. I totally respect your decision not to bother, even Moby Dick, which I love…even the boring whaling chapters. 🤷‍♂️ Infinite Jest? Oh girl....I'm with you on every single thing on this list EXCEPT two. Vegas: There is SO much to do, even if you don't gamble (I do but shouldn't), drink (I don't), or stay out late (nope). I took my daughter on a trip there when she was 9 or 10, and we saw shows, went to the zoo and aquarium, swam in the pool, and ate a ton of good food. Definitely recommend! Tattoos: You are correct; it does become an addiction :-) I absolutely love mine. I'll also say that I have been the unfortunate recipient of not one but TWO awful pieces. I not-so-affectionately referred to them as my "prison tats" until I had them removed. And I promise you, it was exponentially more painful (and expensive) having them lasered off than it was having them put on, so I don't recommend it for anyone who isn't fully committed!

It could include riding a motorcycle, but that was just part of my childhood and no big deal at the time. And a hot air balloon ride, again as a youth and not my idea but fun.
Maybe I should just expand it to include all the things.

I implore people to by all means not feel like you should read or not read a book because of what society or your conditioning tells you. Life is too short to read something you aren't enjoying!! I love the idea of an Anti Bucket list. I too have missed the window on some of the hikes you mentioned. I really know if they had been important to me I would have done them long ago. I too now would take a train to Machu Picchu. Glad to hear there is one. In my 20's to late early 50's I was a runner. I did a few marathons and many races and just ran for fun. I cycled and swam a lot as well. so happy I did that then as I loved it and was never injured. I stopped early 50's and started walking. It felt right for me. Also I do yoga which I love. I too will not ride a motorcycle as that time for me has passed. I thought about it however never pursued that. Just not interested. I love to travel so that is my passion and I do lots of that. I have even camped a bit on my travels loved it however not the way I do it often. thanks for the video and I am going to look more at my anti bucket list, so great. Everything on your anti-bucket list would be on mine if I had one. 😄 And, I'm relieved to hear someone else say they (you) couldn't deal with Tolstoy. 😂 Back in my 20's (I'm now 70) I went to Vegas a few times.because my then spouse liked to go. Frankly, I wasn't impressed. But, I'm not a gambler by nature. I would have liked to have seen a couple of the shows. But, I can't recall why we didn't. But, I recall he wasn't jazzed by the idea and he was the money controller. 🤷 But, I thought Vegas was highly overrated. The two things that readily come to mind that I would put on my anti-bucket list would be scuba diving (afraid of deep water) and cave exploring or spelunking (hope I spelled that right) because I'm clausterphobic and don't want to be underground. But, to your skydiving, bungee jumping item, I would add anything involving heights. I have a fear of heights. Another lady commented she would add holding a tarantula or snake to her anti-bucket list. Yep, I'm with you on that one, too! 😮 😬 As always, great vlog Jen! Thanks and have a great week. 🙋 --Paula in Ohio USA
