I’m really hoping that the move of production to Europe signifies a European model in the works, compliant with EN15194. I’ve been doing a bit of research and a bit of light math, and I think a Bosch cargo bike motor, with its 80 Nm torque, could easily handle a PEBL. I thought PEBL motors were far more powerful than they really were, a misunderstanding that came out of differences in rating convention. In the US, motors are typically rated by peak wattage, while in Europe they’re rated by continuous output, so that 750W motor might really be closer to a 250-300W motor by European convention.
the controller is programmable. Eric’s last video before he sold his showed the process. The body’s ate now being produced in europe and i think the frames. They coukd ship parts to europe and have it built there. I think it would make more sense to have frane and electrical access in europe for production. I wish the EU would lax the wattage up.

I contacted Better Bike in early July 2022. They told me that they expect that they would be shipped in 30 days. They also said in late March 2022 that all of the Pebls should be built by the end of April 2022 and shipped some time in June 2022. I will be contacting Better Bike at the beginning of August 2022 and I half expect them to tell me it will be another 30 days with a delivery date of beginning of September 2022. I understand the difficulty that the company is going through but spending over $11K dollars up front for a bike and seeing the product not delivered is uncomfortable and makes me wonder if I will be out my investment. My fear is the company will go out of business before I see my Pebl delivered and will lose the money that I spent on the Pebl. It has been 2.5 years since this video was uploaded to youtube. I feel sorry for those customers that have waited for over two years for there Pebl. My research says that it is an excellent bike and the 2.0 version looks to be even better than the original but we need assurances that they will be delivered. I am losing confidence in the company.

I spoke with Joe from Better Bike on the phone a couple of times and felt better however I have been waiting about the same time as you. I don't expect my Pebl before September as we are already in the middle of July. I think we will be lucky to get them then. I remain hopeful but unsure. When I get mine I will definitely put out a RUclips video . I am sure there are a lot of others in the boat with us. Please let me know when you get your Pebl.
