Things are… wheely taking off. Vehicle building is the star of the show in v29.10 (a.k.a. the Mechanical Mayhem update), which brings new ways to travel your world so you can embark on your biggest adventures yet!
WHO’S RIDING SHOTGUN?
You know what they say: life isn’t about how fast you reach your destination. It’s about the journey along the way! Mechanical Mayhem introduces three vehicle Builds with their own way of taking you from place to place. (There are also new ways to make a custom vehicle… more on that in a bit!)
LEGO Fortnite Speeder
In a hurry? The Speeder is ideal for zipping from biome to biome. Unlock the recipe for the Speeder by adding a Power Cell (NEW!) to your inventory.
LEGO Fortnite Offroader
The Offroader is perfect for carrying around multiple passengers. Unlock the recipe for the Offroader by adding Flexwood to your inventory (usually found in the Dry Valley biome).
LEGO Fortnite Hauler
Let the Hauler do the heavy lifting because there’s plenty of room in the trunk. Unlock the recipe for the Hauler by adding Frostpine to your inventory (usually found in the Frostlands biome).
HOW TO MAKE VEHICLE BUILDS
When you unlock the recipe for a vehicle Build, you can create it from the Builds section of the Build menu.
If you’re the kind of person who throws away instructions before reading them, you can do things your own way using the Vehicle Parts in the Toys section. You’ll need some specific Toys if you want to class your creations as vehicles:
TOYS IN YOUR TOOLBOX
Power Center - The engine of your vehicle!
Load Power Centers up with Power Cells to power your vehicles. (That’s a lot of power.) The more Power Cells you load, the longer you can drive for.
LEGO Fortnite Power Center
A Power Center.
Wheels - Turn in the right direction or give your vehicle an extra push!
If your vehicle has Turnable Wheels attached, you can use a Driver’s Seat to turn your vehicle. Unlike Turnable Wheels, Powered Wheels simply propel your vehicle forward.
Seats - For your safety… and comfort!
You’ll need a Driver’s Seat (a.k.a. steering wheel… they’re finally here!) to control and drive your vehicle. Place some extra Seats to take your friends on road trips.
HOW TO POWER VEHICLES
Waste not, want not. LEGO® Fortnite operates on an eco-friendly fuel policy to protect your world’s precious biomes. How? You can recycle your old resources into clean energy with a brand new Station:
COMPOST BIN
Is your inventory getting busy? Why throw your old items away when you can put them to good use!
The Compost Bin is a new Station that turns resources into Biomass, Fertilizer, or Soil. The number and rarity of what it spits out will depend on what you put in, but you’ll need to create Biomass to unlock the Power Cell recipe.
(One of the ingredients for a Power Cell is Glass. You can now find Glass from bandit camps around your world!)
NEED A TUNE-UP? USE A WRENCH!
It’s not just Toys in your toolbox. With a Wrench, you can assign Switches and Thrusters to channels, which means you can control as many Thrusters as you’d like using three separate Switches, rather than having one Switch controlling everything. Unlock the recipe for the Wrench by adding a Wooden Rod to your inventory.
ILLUMINATE THE DARK
This is for all the night drivers out there. Though not a Vehicle Part, the Illuminator will add an aura of light to your world in dark areas! Unlock the recipe for the Illuminator by adding a Thermal Fish to your inventory and having a Crafting Bench in your world.
Ready to become a mechanic after reading everything above? It’s okay if you aren’t - Jules, Comet, and Lynx will steer you in the right direction if you need a hand with vehicles!

SWEET (...AND SPICY?) TREATS
Nothing like dessert after fending off foes. You’ll unlock the recipes for Ice Cream, Snowberry Ice Cream, and Spicy Ice Cream if you add Snow to your inventory and have a Juicer in your world.

@@Giganzilla19Minecraft has a very different scenario with development than Lego Fortnite does. 1. Minecraft is much older so things r harder to put on it, 2. It has two editions with two different codes, 3. Very likely epic games employees have it rough bc most game companies give out terrible & exhausting crunch times (mojang doesn’t) not saying or sure it’s the case for Fortnite 4. Minecraft has yearly major updates & minor updates with content sometimes before & after a major update. 5. Epic games already has a lot of assets & code they can flip around while mojang always codes newer functions & mechanics (mostly for mobs). 6. In general they’re very different games & Lego fortnite is still new so it’s like Minecraft when it first came out in 2011. The similarities they have is a crafting aspect, creativity aspect, mining for new materials aspect, hostile creatures spawning at night, & infinite world gen, but they still have just as many differences.

modding the game requires less work than actually updating the game, for various reasons, which is y mods have “a lot more content” bc it reprieves less work. And most mods r made by a few ppl, not just 1 person, especially big ones like Alex’s caves.
Also the first two reason r major reasons as to why updates r the way they are, taking a significant amount of time to properly implement across TWO different versions of the game.

This mode is surprisingly fleshed out and enjoyable. Needs a few more QoL features such as being able to regrow trees and such but it's more fun than i expected

In a future update, I'd like to have the ability to use utility items in dynamic bases:
We can put utility stuff into a mobile-build currently, but once your vehicle is standing on its wheels and not stands, you can't use them. Only exception is the bed, which can still be used despite being in a dynamic state.
Very good update. How about airplanes or flying dragons in the future. Lego offers so many possibilities and I hope they are still used.

Firstly, thank you for this amazing update! It is alnost perfect. The thingy is that i wana go in all directions, foward, backward, up, down, right, left, not just foward, right and left, using rocket engines. It would be much cooler than just 3! On my world i have a nice big airship, so you decide you wana go on a BIG AMAZING ADVENTURE! You find a nice piece of land, in your Brain you imagine the riches you will find there, you stop your ship and..! And well, you cant touch it, because you cant land with it... 🚨

Idea for a new update:
To have a survival map in which there are several players from all over the world or just from the country in.
Idk about yall but this is by far my fav update this season or just any updates for fortnite lego all this while , i genuinely like playing this mode not cus of afk exp farm or wtv those are bonuses , but this new vehicle update for me it's a game changer , gna have sm fun going for a truck adventure and being able to build a house in it too 🙏
The houses that double as vehicles reminds me of that movie where people built even ENTIRE CITIES on top of wheels/vehicles! 🤯🤯 Regardless I'm HYPED for this update too! 🖐️😆🖐️
They took a kinda lackluster Minecraft clone and really ran with that the Lego license. Amazing update

all i was asking for
Made a big one and little one out of the plans/kits. it was thrilling to finally have a vehicle to move around in. Little one turns over so I pushed it around for awhile after trying to find a flip button or combo of buttons. Eventually I pushed it over back onto the wheels. Things seem to fall off when you hit enough obstacles but I have not been able to totally destroy it by crashing it so it is sufficiently durable (don't hold me to that). When I built the big one I put a few small balloons on it and I have done a bit of driving not much but. I don't think it will turn over. (you can hold me to that one) . I haven't tried transporting anything yet. And the health on both vehicles seem to diminish in water or that might have been caused by the previous crashing. But, I only saw (noticed) a health bar while it was in the water. The small one did not travel in deep water or float, the big one with the balloons I placed on it not only floated but could also move in/ON water albeit slowly. I find both builds slow and sluggish, As I am slow and sluggish it's not a good combination. But people with good dexterity probably won't have a problem using these vehicles. They will probably find it beneficial/useful and enjoyable.
The Wrench is probably the biggest W in this update, hopefully we get more channels in the future to get even more crazy contraptions

Hello Lego Fortnite, there are MANY things that could be added, among them one that stands out, which is basically the Steam workshop. Because just like when you finish the game, there is nothing left to do, literally nothing else. And with the addition of mods, that would be really crazy, as it would keep the community much more alive, and with a lot more people to improve the essence of the game itself, so you can tell me - "Okay. But, you would probably get banned of Battle Royale mode" And I tell you, just make Lego Fortnite as an individual game. In fact, in sandboxes like Minecraft, what helps the community the most are the mods and servers. And between us, it would be crazy to have Dawncraft or rlcraft style modpacks in Lego Fortnite. The additions of mobs, tools, minerals, biomes really make the game much more alive, and it's really nice not having to wait for this update, man, I beat Lego Fortnite in 5 days, and I have to wait a month for this stupid update it simply made me lose enthusiasm.
But I can notice 1 negative point in the mods for this mode, which would be epic to stop caring about this mode, but let's be honest, this mode is not story dependent, so this negative point is a bit important. Other things that would be really cool would be the implementation of an online mode, like, really online, with guilds, countries, no village limits, wars, NPCs on the map. And speaking of NPC, my friend, what I miss about NPC villages is not written, there are even those camps, but they are always aggressive and never give you anything, it would be great to have a good village, with lots of items, and useful things, like making alliances and wars, in “offline” mode, of course.
We now just need the paths in the trailer and its like perfect.

This is genuinely a good update. You can finally drive around instead of having to walk and glide for hours on hours
And no more makeing it to your destination. just to realize you left something back at your village. And then have to make the long treck back
Now we’ve got a way to get around the high complexity by putting our buildings on a truck

I built a detached garage, but the speeder will not go inside it. It stops at the door. It cant climb the floor tile to go in. I even tried pushing it in. Also can no longer drop items onto the ground from my inventory. I play on xbox. It used to be right trigger but since the update it doesn't work. I have stuff I don't want to keep and cant get rid of it. I have to put it in a chest.
