There's something ironic about a car being so desirable, in part because it's fast and because of the way it drives, that it will never be driven. This is an amazing car. While, on some level, I absolutely want one, I wish that it it were more approachable. I want this exact car, but with high enough production that I wouldn't feel like something awful had happened if I wrecked it or scratched it or put too many miles on it. That hypothetical car doesn't even need to have rocket thrusters.

I would expect super low volume EVs barely out of concept using Tesla as a benchmark to beat them on some metric, be it acceleration, top speed, etc. But at what cost? Where do they charge? Lemme guess, Tesla superchargers? Home? A lot of these low-volume cars at just glorified concepts. Doesn't mean a lot. I can buy the safest cars ever tested (Tesla) and get a full-featured saloon which will be the fastest volume production car in the world (Model S Plaid) at a much more reasonable cost, and then invest the rest (in $TSLA, obviously). That's 2.5M for the Pininfarina Battista vs. 112k for the Model S Plaid. So, basically for the cost of a nice house and a Plaid, you can have the Battista, which you probably can't even charge on the Tesla network just yet. But if you could, it's because of Tesla and Elon removing that moat for the benefit of all EVs.
And any old-school petrol-driven 5-seater will outperform that 2.5million two-seater on any reasonable distance trip... And on any longer trip you can refuel in the time it takes the Battista to "wake up", i.e. boot its shitty smartware.

When I think about non production, super high cost vehicles. It becomes difficult to quantify against regular cars. Without racing category or really rules on production and time and materials, It becomes the same as making a rocket ship. May as well compare to drag strip jet cars with a GE J85 in it or something.
