- Family Builds Earthbag Cabin: Shortly after Garen and Ellie get married, they head out on an adventure to re-build the earthbag cabin up in the mountains. The family attempted to build it several years prior but were not successful. Garen and Ellie correct the problems and continue on to construct a fun little cabin in the woods. This is a compilation of several weeks of work brought together in one complete video. Please enjoy!

Whatever became of this property. Do they use it.
Happened to catch a couple videos several years ago of the family in the desert that built eathbag houses for seperate bedrooms for each of the kids.. I remember getting such inspiration from occasionally tuning in for an update.
Life got busy for me. Career change. No opportunity to invest the necessary time to continue following the progress..
Then, out of nowhere this pops up in my recommended viewing list?
The moment I made the connection of realizing these were the same people - several years later - expanding and improving on that same unified work ethic, togetherness, and unique artistry.
My mind simply exploded. What a truly fascinating story.
Now that life has consipred to allow for a bit of downtime, I am so incredibly excited to get lost in the needed distraction of returning to the beginning and enjoying all that I have missed along this amazing journey of storyline.
Y'all make one hell-of-a-family! Ellie fits in just like a third sister, hard working and good looking!

Wow! You know how much I loved this as I didn't even take a break to get a glass of water during the whole video! This place is just awesome and I own a farm that I am hoping my grown children will want to help me put up one of these structures on. Its to far away for me to live there but to go out on weekends and spend time there on the farm I grew up on would be a dream come true. And I bet all the kids/grandkids/great grandkids will want to join me there! I will be referring to this video a lot! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Great job guys! :)
Way to go you two. Like the companionship here. Building something together like this is always a challenge but brings a couple closer together. Learning to work together brings fullness into a marriage and solidity into a relationship!

I started following the little homestead's journey in 2016 and i am as fascinated now as i was then by just how much they accomplish as a FAMILY UNIT, Ellie is the perfect addition to that unit. I am still praying and hoping for my own piece of land to start my own earth bag and cob construction projects including my home. Someday, i'll return here to say, the wait is over and i finally have the little homestead's dream in reality.
TV Shows are no longer important. I find the most fulfilling entertainment value is watching families like yours work together to accomplish things for each other. Ellie is lovely. What a lucky guy he is to win her. What a family. Thank you for the ongoing entertainment and education!

The thought struck me as I watched the speeded-up video at around 12 minutes that this looks exactly like 3D printing, except you're using bags instead of plastic, and YOU are the printer. Inspiring work. Keep going.

I just realized after I wrote this that I dont think she was pregnant yet, I found out after going back and listening to the podcast about the cabin, baby, and something else one.
I am really enjoying these full length compilations of the different builds you have done. Seeing the whole process at one time helps you really appreciate the amount of work that Garen and Ellie and the rest of the family put into the cabin rebuild. Nice little hideout in the mountains. All of you are so hands on and knowledgeable, but I must commend Ellie, no matter when she’s pregnant or toting one baby now a toddler and a baby, she is as strong as an ox and so willing to get on with everything and anything. I’m 64 with a long term illness and I’m so jealous of her strength and ability. Well done Ellie, with some help from. Garan too of course. X

I'm surprised we didn't put that 6 inch wide tape over every single joint in the roof. Extra added the sheriffs. The rain won't get through to the inside. Then put your roofing on top of that. That's the only thing I noticed that might've helped you. You guys work so well together is a Family. It's good to see you kids carrying on for another generation the things that your parents taught you about working together and working to build something for your future rather than just existing and being lazy. Your house is coming together very nicely. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

I once , when I was your age change a tire in Green Bay WI -40 below zero . The tire just popped over a bump , grrrrrrrr , it was so hard to do .

I've been watching this other channel where they do the Earth tubes I just keep watching it and say no don't do that you're using oriented strand board outside no leaving it exposed for 6 months no but what you guys are doing so good of course you got a whole crew there were only two people but still nice to see it done as well as it was done which wouldn't have happened if you guys didn't have lots of experience already nice to see it in a forest not a desert
