Watching your adventures bring back tons of memories, from the time fish is hooked till your reel screams and you land your fish. These videos take us through all the right emotions. Love it, thanks guys.
+Landshark Fishing Almost happened last year and it ended up being pretty heavy. While going through the process the show was becoming more and more watered down and by the end was like any normal fishing TV series (with sponsorships plugs and much of the time talking bull shit with random people). So by the end we actually weren't very excited about it (other then getting to fish some really cool spots that are currently out of our reach). The $ side of it was pretty weird as well, like you basically just become an actor and get some OK coin but you're working for their production/business and while you make a living the real $ is made by them. But that is just how it is in that industry and now we're pretty stoked to just do our own thing... Might take a lot longer but in theory we may be able to support our selves one day haha.
+MorningTide Fishing Wow pretty cool to hear. We were approached as well when my hammerhead video went viral. We filmed a pilot for them and the production company pitched us to a bunch of networks, but like you said they wanted Drama and actors not fishermen. They tried telling me that Jeremy Wades show River monsters is real and uncut, and that he's the best fishermen in the world , made me cry laughing.
Watched this thing one year ago for the first time and still makes me goosebumps.....obviusly the best fishning video ever and represents the pure MTF essence....wetsuits, waves, rocks and tunas....that's all folks.....respect.
Two years passed from the release of this video, and still makes me goosebumps like the first time i saw it..and is still actually the best fishing video ever made...big milestone.
this video illustrated the passion you guys have for fishing. it sucks he learned the hard way on having proper gear but getting a stella for a replacement hes going to love it. keep naking these amazing videos
We're just finishing up a 3 hour long DVD... but it's information based not action. We'll have to make a proper film one day, I'd like to do it when we can hire a crew to shoot/edit it so we can focus on the fishing instead of the boring computer work haha! Thanks for the support mate!
As always guys, the video made my heart race and the excitement level is simply out of this world. Having just read your post to LandShark about actual TV work, I am so glad you guys didn't go down that route and chose to remain "honest" to the gear you wanna use and most importantly to yourselves! As opposed to being required to pump vertain fishing gear for some company even though in ttruth you might hate it, regardless of the words you're then "required" to say about it. For me this shows the true difference between TV where its just mind numbing rubbish or depressing news about all thats wrong with our world. If something's shit, you say so. If you're really puymped on something, you'll say that too. Showing the real good and bad nature of the world we actually live in. Because nothing is all good and nothing's all bad either - with the exception of perhaps the politicians of course ;) Finally, I wanted to congratulte whoever came up with the music in this video. Absolutely pharkin amazing!!!
Just as soon as I finish watching "The Great Barrier Reef" series, thanks!! My ex wife was right when she reckoned I preferred going or watching fishing to having an early night with her :D
Speechless, just amazing u can literaly feel the love towards fishing the sea the amount of respect you guys have to the sea and aooo mouchh passion its just amazing ive never experienced something like that in any other video especially fiahing video, good job guys this is brilliant.
funny when I think back when I was a kid and fat old men in stubbie shorts fished off the rocks with heavy old Alvey reels, heavy old thick fibreglass rods, monofilament line, bait buckets strapped around their waist etc, now it's young fit guys in wetsuits and trainers with super slick lightweight Saltiga reels and carbon fibre rods tossing lures for 30 kilo tuna and jumping in the water with them, lol...progressive or what..can honestly say I never saw it changing to what it is now, but I certainly can dig it..
Watching you guys always make me wanna join you guys like its incredible m8 I really just want to experience it but keep pumpin the videos m8 truly the best fishing videos I've ever watched
So stoked to see a new vid from you guys, seems like it's been forever! Awesome video as always. Just like to say I went out and got a demonblood from what you guys have suggested and I guess this video makes me feel even more at ease knowing that money isn't the point but rather doing this right! YEWWW!!
Hello MTF guys, greetings from Peru... this was another fantastic video with a true lesson to learn. When we are facing the fight of the year we cannot play the game with the wrong equipment. I believe that always we need to give the chance to the fish using the lightest possible line, but using the right rod, spool, swivels, leaders, etc.Thank you for sharing this great video.
"It's like a chicks bum, I'm getting turned on by your flares bruh" Hahahahaha clastic! Loved the vid boys! Happy you finally landed one and that Stella is sexy!
Man I wish we had tunas that size here on the bay islands of Honduras. Nice video guys and great catch. You learn something new everyday while fishing.
Yeah once again a great video. I've always hoped to be able to hook a tuna from the beach or rocks, now I realize that i could never do it by myself! Looks like I need to find some fishing buddies before I go.
Good shit. I reckon that's the thing with fishing too. You always learn, but getting schooled by either a fish or a fisherman that's better than you are is the best way to do it. Nice fish guys.
Sick vid guys, loved this one. Nothing wrong with the stradics, but like everything there is a price point for your application. I love catching 5-10kg pelagics on my 5000fj, but from the comfort of my boat. When you're on the rocks totally different ball game, you need to have a reel that can hold tonnes of quality line, casts good, has decent drag pressure, and waterproof for the occasional skishing you guys do haha keep the vids coming!
Every body has a different learning curve when it comes to fishing. Was it the fact that he lost the fish or the hour long struggle he put the fish through that made him relies that his reel was shiat?Probably both.Another amazing fishing trip!
+River rat Yeah he was pretty aware of how heavy it was for that fish, when the line snapped it swam off completely exhausted with a lure in it's mouth, left him feeling real bad... He was a nightmare to be around after that loss, i'd actually say he was close to depression (srs). That fight went on for over 80min which is twice the length of any previous fight we've seen! The cameras died at like 70min but i wish we had the footage of him pretty much crying on the rock when he lost it, it was really heavy. Then Cavy landing his one in like 10min, me landing one in like 15min then that bigger one in the arvo was landed in 8min (we know the specific times because of the time on the footage). It was all to much for him, he went out and bought the Stella and we did a lot of knot testing/drag testing (which we'll make some films about) so that he knew his settings really well. Next minute he's hooked up and lands his fish with ease. So i'd say it was the loss, the hard time he put the fish through and the fact that we schooled him on some proper setups haha. It was a hard time for Jonny but he's stoked now!
Sweet vid as usual, the fishing you guys do definitely warrants the stella/saltigas but you're absolutely mental for using trebles, having copped a treble in the hand that had to be surgically removed on the rocks its singles all the way for me now.
that main acoustic riff is dropped D tuning and is all around open D and D on the second string moving up around there. Like 1st string - D DDD 2nd String - DEF EFG 1st string DDD 2nd GFE 1st DDD 2nd FED... Well seems like I know the notes at least haha. If you find that ^ part you should be able to suss the rest of that riff I reckon!
Totally awesome, skitzy, psycho, bad ass, inspirational video of a group of totally awesome, skitzy, psycho, bad ass, inspirational fishermen! Absolutely legendary! Aloha!
I miss these old MT videos. The new ones are great, but it would be sick if you guys could chuck in a bit of a sneaky one with a longtail from the stones.
great video again guys! what knot do you use between main line and leader? i use the alberto and often wonder if there is a better one? i love my stella although its a bit smaller than the one pictured. ...
+Michael Schraffa Hi mate, we all use different... Cavy uses an FG, Jonny a Double Uni and i use a Bimini. I used to use an FG but after a hell of a lot of testing found out i was shit at tying them. With knots it's not about what knot is best but more about what knot YOU can tie best. So I recommend tying a bunch of knots and testing them to see what you are good at tying, it could be that you're already using the best knot for you.
Hey mate, we just rinse them with fresh water in the shower, they last for about 9 - 12 months doing it this way but depends on how often you're spinning.
+ULUAFISHING TV Hey mate these are the setups we're using in this film... Shimano Stella 14000-XG with 500m of WFT 32KG Line on a Daiwa Catalina CH79S-N. Daiwa Dogfight 8000H with around 800m of 40lb Tasline on a Daiwa Demon Blood DB 962H. Daiwa Saltiga Z 4000 with a 4500 RCS Spool and about 400m of WFT 22KG line on a Daiwa Saltiga Dorado MO83S-F Shimano Stradic with about 300m of WFT 22kg line on a Daiwa Demon Blood DB 962H
www.morningtidefishing.com/collections/apparel/products/pelagic-off-the-rocks-dvd We cover it all in that ^. But yeah man there's a shit load of stuff we look for. The first things are a good ledge to fish off (as in can you actually stand on it or is it too steep etc.) and what the water looks like right infront of that ledge (check depth with Navionics and check if we can see current on google maps). Next is we look at google images, youtube films, facebook fishing pages, Instagram #tags, charters and fishing forums, for any extra information we can gather on type of fish in the area and if it's ever been fished before etc. Make sure you use google maps measuring tool to check how long the walks will be and once you do as much as you can there just come the point of having to go and try it. We've had plenty of trips that didn't work out in the early days but that's part of the adventure of finding new spots
Thanks alot.do the type of hard lures make a difference to which fish you are targeting? Do you have to try n turn the fish head towards you to avoid being spooled?...I had a problem in Mozambique where I got spooled in a few minutes(not exaggerating) so I cut the line with a knife just before the line got finished. How do I avoid this?(I had about 200m of line which was 16lb)
We have a lot heavier line and more of it. For Tuna and Mackerel, we have about 500m of 50lb. They take a 250m run all the time so if you only had 200m and you hooked something 15kg + you just didn't have enough line. You don't have to cut that, instead just grab your spool and pop the leader knot (otherwise can be a lot of line attached to the fish). You need a strong rod and heavier drag to stop the fish and win the fight. Have a look at our youtube channel, there are some videos about what setups we're using.
+Koby Pollock Hi Koby, have you seen the 'what line' film ruclips.net/video/-9SR2zYndBI/видео.html At the moment we're all using WFT KG Strong 22kg and 32kg (WFT is extremely thin for how strong it is PE 1.8 and 2.5) and the amount of line you get on is pretty much double of any other braid we've used, you'll cast further because it's thinner etc... Tasline is pretty good for this as well and you'll get a lot more then most other braids (40lb-50lb is the go) but it's not as thin as WFT. Yew
+Koby Pollock You can email these guys and see if they can get it in info@jarviswalker.com.au (they are the Aussie supplier but i'm not sure if they have it in stock). WFT make a few braids, so make sure you're getting the 'WFT KG STRONG' line. Other wise www.fishingtackle24.de/store-search-result.php?language=en&keywords=wft%20kg%20strong but the postage might be intense to Aus.
Hi mate, first rod Jonny's using is a Daiwa Demonblood 962H, next Cavy's using is a Daiwa Saltiga Dorado MO83s-f, next one I'm (Briggsy) using the Daiwa Demonblood 962H, last one back with Jonny is a Daiwa Catalina Hiramasa 79s-n.
+Allah Turbo Hi Mate, I'm pretty sure you're just talking about the Stella at the end but i'll list the setups for anyone else who might be interested...
Casting prolly fine and would feel nice on the fish but the rock ledges we fish you need an extra foot on that (we kinda say 8'0 min just for steering the fish in at the end of fight and making sure you can avoid and bombies or structure). So I'd say a foot too short for our taste but there's no reason you won't land fish on it a lot of the time!
+TriniTrav We've felt a VS before and it was super rough, line capacity was pretty small and retrieve speed slow. But that was a few years ago, i'm sure they're better now. Never felt a Zeebaas before but they look pretty rad (do you know how they feel?). One of the main reason we like Daiwa/Shimano reels is they are super smooth and nice to spin with. Most our fish are caught because of 10s-100s of hours spent spinning on the rocks so our reels have to be really nice to use otherwise we'll get sick of it to soon and not hook anything. As it is right now i'm happy to go down and spin for 6 hours straight because of how nice my setup feels haha, the fish is just a bonus!
+bludnut13 We fish up and down the East coast of Aus from NSW to the top of QLD depending on season. And we go to extreme lengths to keep locations secret (as do all Land Based Fishermen). Spots could be ruined for locals if we gave away locations and we always try to stay on good terms with the locals where ever we travel. Check this film out for more info ruclips.net/video/dW9EWold9u0/видео.html
Honestly the best fishing channel on youtube!
by a long shot
Nice fish release.
Cool editing. Looking forward to more.
Andy's Fishing Wild Cook hi Andy ! Yeah these guys are Awesome and also Brodie from Youngblood’s .
For me this is the best channel in youtube! No dramas, no boring scenes. You guys rock!
Watching your adventures bring back tons of memories, from the time fish is hooked till your reel screams and you land your fish. These videos take us through all the right emotions. Love it, thanks guys.
You guys are gonna have some major TV network knocking on your door any day now.
+Landshark Fishing Almost happened last year and it ended up being pretty heavy. You guys are the Gods of land-based fishing!!! Simply amazing!

By far the sickest fishing vid I've seen on RUclips. Great edit with brooksy's words of wisdom. Yeeeeeeew. Gave me goosy's and all. So psycho!!!
I've said this before but, you guys are badd ass! You need to make a movie someday. I get pumped watching your vids, simply awesome stuff.
We're just finishing up a 3 hour long DVD... but it's information based not action. We'll have to make a proper film one day, I'd like to do it when we can hire a crew to shoot/edit it so we can focus on the fishing instead of the boring computer work haha! Thanks for the support mate!

Epic video. Some of the best fishing footage ever. Congratulations
funny when I think back when I was a kid and fat old men in stubbie shorts fished off the rocks with heavy old Alvey reels, heavy old thick fibreglass rods, monofilament line, bait buckets strapped around their waist etc, now it's young fit guys in wetsuits and trainers with super slick lightweight Saltiga reels and carbon fibre rods tossing lures for 30 kilo tuna and jumping in the water with them, lol...progressive or what..can honestly say I never saw it changing to what it is now, but I certainly can dig it..

Great channel, congrats, obviously a lot of work gone into the footage and editing. Better than the TV shows!
Fishing + rock = blood. Awesome...yeeeewwww

That was proper SICKKKKK YEWWWWW!!!
Best. Backing. Track. Ever.
Stoked you like it mate!
Cheers from Miami!
Gotta get those guitar tabs man!
haha I wouldn't even know how to write em down? I go ok hands on but guitar theory stuff I wouldn't have a clue!
that main acoustic riff is dropped D tuning and is all around open D and D on the second string moving up around there. Like 1st string - D DDD 2nd String - DEF EFG 1st string DDD 2nd GFE 1st DDD 2nd FED... Well seems like I know the notes at least haha. If you find that ^ part you should be able to suss the rest of that riff I reckon!
Thanks man!!! I'll get the other part by ear. Will be doing a cover soon! (If job allows)
Keep posting and making these cool tracks.
another awesome clip boys, i don't mind yas jumpin in the water ay how else are we gonna get this footage! haha

You have such great mates! Better than any fish
si nice!!! i'm watching from France ;)
amazing !!!
i like ! very nice
The unique drag sounds alone completely justify the cost of Stella
Awesome video. What kind of shoes are you guys running? Looks like it stands up to algae and seaweed well!
Here you go mate ruclips.net/video/pBpxagxW8eY/видео.html

Hey mate, we just rinse them with fresh water in the shower, they last for about 9 - 12 months doing it this way but depends on how often you're spinning.

I cant even imagine Bluefin from shore

Hi guys just wondering what pound line you would suggest for this kind of stuff. I'm going to be putting it on the Shimano Saragosa 10000.
Yew
+MorningTide Fishing where can you order the WFT KG strong braid?
+Koby Pollock You can email these guys and see if they can get it in info@jarviswalker.com.au (they are the Aussie supplier but i'm not sure if they have it in stock). WFT make a few braids, so make sure you're getting the 'WFT KG STRONG' line.
Other wise www.fishingtackle24.de/store-search-result.php?language=en&keywords=wft%20kg%20strong but the postage might be intense to Aus.
+MorningTide Fishing thanks boys
Heavy! Yewww!!
fishing tuna onshore that’s unheard of
What time of year was this? Warmer months of the year for tuna over there?
What rod was used in this video?
Hi mate, first rod Jonny's using is a Daiwa Demonblood 962H, next Cavy's using is a Daiwa Saltiga Dorado MO83s-f, next one I'm (Briggsy) using the Daiwa Demonblood 962H, last one back with Jonny is a Daiwa Catalina Hiramasa 79s-n.
You guys also produced the music? It goes so well with the footage
What rod and line is that?
+Allah Turbo Hi Mate, I'm pretty sure you're just talking about the Stella at the end but i'll list the setups for anyone else who might be interested...
Shimano Stella 14000-XG with 500m of WFT 32KG Line on a Daiwa Catalina CH79S-N.
Daiwa Dogfight 8000H with around 800m of 40lb Tasline on a Daiwa Demon Blood DB 962H.
Daiwa Saltiga Z 4000 with a 4500 RCS Spool and about 400m of WFT 22KG line on a Daiwa Saltiga Dorado MO83S-F
Shimano Stradic with about 300m of WFT 22kg line on a Daiwa Demon Blood DB 962H
hey guys thoughts on a 7"2 10-24kg shimano maikuro rod for this style of fishing? or to short?
Casting prolly fine and would feel nice on the fish but the rock ledges we fish you need an extra foot on that (we kinda say 8'0 min just for steering the fish in at the end of fight and making sure you can avoid and bombies or structure). So I'd say a foot too short for our taste but there's no reason you won't land fish on it a lot of the time!
Go on then cheers boys
Yeeeeeeeoooooooooo
Have you guys tried a Van Staal or Zeebaas reel yet?
Where are you boys fishing?
+bludnut13 We fish up and down the East coast of Aus from NSW to the top of QLD depending on season. And we go to extreme lengths to keep locations secret (as do all Land Based Fishermen). Spots could be ruined for locals if we gave away locations and we always try to stay on good terms with the locals where ever we travel.
