Here here. At my most musical, I can sometimes sing melodic lines that I wish I could then render on my guitar. I cannot do this and some are blessed to come up with absolutely superlative melodies and have them come out of their fingers. It's an amazing skill.

I've havent listened to this song for a while. The whole song is a masterpiece but when I heard 2:22 - 2:29 again, a shiver went down my spine and I got goosebumps, straight from heaven.
By the way today I heard this song for the first time, I've listened to it over 20 times today. I'm probably going to listen to it 20 more because I just want to capture every detail of emotion put into this. I really respect work like this brings tears to my eyes

Extremely generalised: learn your scales and chords. The notes you accent, be it by volume, length, vibrato, whammy and whatnot in relation to the background chord is what sets the melodic reference and emotion you feel as a listener.

The solo is really good but I love the intro the best and then the chorus. Another great song is "Homeland" so great acoustic sound at the beginning and lead guitar. Another good one is Sunset Lights.
Your composition tells a story. To me the beginning felt somber, but as the song went on you pulled us out of that hopeless feeling into an uplifting attitude of "everything's still alright, let the past be the past, look forward to a brand new even-better day". I lost my inspiration for playing Guitar and music in last few years due to business and family work, thn i heard this song and the title really hit me and i clicked it and i felt every note of this song....so beautiful and it really connected with me ...NOTHING IS LOST....i picked up my guitar and started working learning this song.....This is really one of the best instrumental i have ever heard...my fav was tender surrender....now Nothing is lost is my new fav. And if anything, the phrasing and touch here is even more stunning than before. (I miss that bend from the earlier playthrough at 3:09 though!) Amazing and inspirational as ever.

I love the way the lead guitar plays vocal lines. You can totally identify which section sounds like a chorus.

Your Charvel sounds very versatile...the neck pick up sounds Fender strat legit....IMO it is better sounding than the Ibanez
