Those EMG pickups are really sounding great. This is the type of demo EMG needs on their channel! Their current videos all sound....well not the best and I realized how great they really are after playing them in person.
I've havent listened to this song for a while. The whole song is a masterpiece but when I heard 2:22 - 2:29 again, a shiver went down my spine and I got goosebumps, straight from heaven.
Here here. At my most musical, I can sometimes sing melodic lines that I wish I could then render on my guitar. I cannot do this and some are blessed to come up with absolutely superlative melodies and have them come out of their fingers. It's an amazing skill.

Extremely generalised: learn your scales and chords. The notes you accent, be it by volume, length, vibrato, whammy and whatnot in relation to the background chord is what sets the melodic reference and emotion you feel as a listener.

The solo is really good but I love the intro the best and then the chorus. Another great song is "Homeland" so great acoustic sound at the beginning and lead guitar. Another good one is Sunset Lights.

I keep coming back to this and while there is no denying that Mr. Sfogli here is an absolutely masterful player, I am honestly blown away by the dynamics and expressiveness of those pickups. I first tried EMGs when I got a killer deal on an ESP E-II Eclipse with the 57TW/66TW set and I've been a sucker for EMG ever since. They go under the radar way too much imo.

Add Andy James' The Wind That Shakes the Heart and After Midnight. Lovely treat to my ears. And if anything, the phrasing and touch here is even more stunning than before. (I miss that bend from the earlier playthrough at 3:09 though!) Amazing and inspirational as ever.

I love the way the lead guitar plays vocal lines. You can totally identify which section sounds like a chorus.
