My list of the top five saddest deaths in "Supernatural" : 1. Dean ("Carry On") 2. Castiel ("All Along the Watchtower") 3. Sam ("All Hell Breaks Loose, Pt. 1") 4. Bobby ("At Death's Door") 5. Ellen and Jo ("Abandon All Hope")
Dean's final death, in my opinion, mirrors Sam's first one. They were both stabbed in the back. I also love the throwback lines that originated from the pilot.
Gabriel's probably near the top of my list and definitely one of the saddest deaths of an angel, second to only Castiel. Despite how you may feel about Lucifer, seeing how it affected him and the boys really got to me.
I cried the most at the last episode when dean died and then I was happy because then he got to see Bobby and I was so happy because Bobby is the dad that dean never had
@@maiak.3588 really I dont think he was abusive just more forceful and wanted Sam to become a hunter and to stay with him and dean so he could keep him safe
@@eliestes172 That is true, but while he wasn't physically abusive, he was definitely psychologically abusive. There have been episodes where he yells at young Dean for things that don't merit scolding, and he did it quite a bit. Also, just letting you know, I'm not trying to be rude, or disrespectful, I'm just sharing my views. If this comes off as rude, I'm sorry.
@@maiak.3588 yeah you’re right in that ep, the one with that old woman, shtriga, where there were flashbacks, there John yells at dean for not keeping Sam with him, so that was a bit bad I admit, but it was just to keep both Sam and dean safe I guess, and I’d say he pretty much succeeded.
I’m not ok with this series ending. Jensen and Jared were snubbed for not getting more awards than they did. I was so heartbroken when the last episode started
Ellen & Joe: I’ve bawled my eyes out for an hour straight, I had to pause the scene and try to control myself before I can continue watching. I’ve never wanted to call my mom so badly but it would’ve been worse for her because she’s never seen the show.😭😭😭😭 Ellen & Joe = mother & daughter goals❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dean’s was poetic. He didn’t go down saving the world from a cosmic threat, he died in a random, simple fight, which served as one final reminder that despite it all, the brothers were human and not invincible. They didn’t have anyone looking out for them anymore, and one “lucky” shot is what took Dean down. I know a lot of people wanted a blaze of glory, but this was far more appropriate. Their humanity is what made them compelling to begin with, and it’s what finally cost Dean in the end. He was never going to have a long and fulfilling life. He led an extremely brutal existence and it finally caught up to him when they least expected it.
How is Bobby not #1? He was more of a father to Sam and dean then John thier entire lives. And of all the monsters Sam and dean fought over the years, Lucifer, dick roman, Crowley, chuck, and so on a damn vampire is the death of dean? Kinda seems like a big game hunter getting taken out by a raccoon instead of a grizzly bear.
Benny was sad esp since he didn’t w off screen in Porgatory… Bobby was sad but we knew eventually he’d go to heaven… Crowley might have been the saddest for me… I straight up loved how Dean just butchered that entire Stein family, and made that cop (who did look like a piece of bacon) his bee watch…
I agree. I mean, I like Charlie. Don't get me wrong. But I absolutely adore Castiel and Sam, which means that their deaths hit me hard. (Referring to Castiel's death in the season 12 finale, and Sam's death in "All Hell Breaks Loose.")
Bobby was more of.the Winchester father even when their dad was alive. No Rowena? She was in the series a lot longer then jo and Elena. Casiel! Literally the third brother !
Umm ... Dean didn't die in, "In My Time of Dying." He was on the brink of death. Bit of a difference. I hate the fact that they cut out Crowley's "Even when I lose, I win," line from his death scene. Such a slap to the face of Mark Sheppard, Crowley, and the fans. For me, Jack's first death was sadder to me than his second death. How is it that Castiel's death at the hands of Lucifer isn't included? Not even an honorable mention? I know he comes back in the next season. But up until that moment, we had been led to believe that this was his final death.
Of _ALL_ the people to meet Dean in Heaven, I so badly wanted to see Jo have a run in with him come the finale. But, Covid vaccines having just been rolled out, obviously they couldn't fly in five or ten past characters, expect them to everyone quarantine for 2 WEEKS along with the hassle(s) of filming the last episode of a 15-year-running show...it just wasn't gonna happen.
Ellen, Joe and John W. should have been much higher on the list. They had the most character development. The others may have been 'cooler', but these were core characters that shaped the entire story.
It was not a simple mistake, they not only foreshadowed the crap out of the nail that he got run into. Dean and Sam were killing things 10 times tougher when the series started. It was weak. The series should’ve have just ended with the previous episode.
HOW IS MADISON'S DEATH NOT ONE OF THE TOP 10 SADDEST DEATH. Season 2 episode 17 (title of the episode is called "Heart" which I think should be called heartbreak cuz that episode made me cry, and it takes alot just to make me cry) anyways... Incase those who don't remember her. She was the girl that Sam fell inlove with when he finally had just gotten over his girlfriend Jessica's death... It's like... Sam was heartbroken and finally healed up then falls inlove annnd wounds up having to kill her because everyone including her found out that she was a permanently werewolf, they tried to do everything that they could do to cure her, although there was no cure so she knew she had to die and more importantly she had asked Sam to end her life, the reason she had Sam kill her was that she didn't want to suffer the pain of knowing that she could uncontrollably become a werewolf at night and kill people more importantly she was in love with Sam and didn't want him somehow to end up being one of her victims. So she had Him kill her because she loved him so much.. That was the SADDEST episode ever
I wish Rowena was on this list and Jack removed. Sorry but I never cared for him. They tried too hard to make him a sympathetic character and for me I didn't fall for it. So you can imagine how pissed I was when Old Golden Child never can do wrong baby-face Jack was put in charge to create a 'perfect world' GAG! The message was clear: God is evil and bad and now DEAD and Satan's Child is the 'hero'.
the way dean dies was just wrong. deamons, vampires, satan, god, all these things killed him and he came back, yet one rebar in a pole was anticlimactic. they could have at least had death (original) show up and lead him away with a "you did good boy". dean deserved to go out in a better fashion than just a freak accident. hell, he died 100+ times in one day cause of the trickster.
Castiel? Gabriel? Rowena? Meg? I'm sure there's plenty more but honestly I stopped watching as soon as they starting bringing everyone back to life over and over. You lose feeling for characters when they're just gonna magically be back a few episodes later. But for me the two that hurt the most were Bobby (both times) and Crowley.

For me, his death would take second place here... because Dean's death can't be compared to anything.. except the disgusting spit in the soul of fans. ... The show ended as it began. "It's Dean's choice to go as a hunter" / "It had to end this way". Delusional!! And what about Free Will ?! And how about "Spitting in the face of Fate!" Dean had to live life! I never watched this show until my wife showed it to me recently and I have to say it’s amazing and refreshing how they painted the angels and demons to not just be angels and demons the demons were good guys on many occasions as the angels were the bad it didn’t paint it black and white

So apparently, you (like Dean) have forgotten that Charlie *chose* to help Dean. But hey! I guess it's easier for you to blame Sam and pretend that Charlie didn't have a mind of her own. Place the blame where it belongs: on the shoulders of the man who killed her. That would be a member of the Stein family.

I think it’s a crime that Cass’s final sacrifice to defeat Billie isn’t on here, the entire scene is gut wrenching and genuinely had me tearing up.

I'm actually surprised this and Gabriel's death aren't on this list.

Bobby and Charlie's deaths were hard to swallow😢😢
The most infair death in my opinion is from Charlie, Crowley and Dean
If anyone had told me back in season six or seven that I would weep at Crowley's death, I would have said 'yeah, right'.
rowenas made me cry for DAYSSSS the first time i watched it
