I have a huge fan theory that after this musical Jesse went to New York sometime in the next three years and eventually decide des to live there for a bit with our beloved Newsies. He doesn’t want to go with Jack to Santa Fe at first because he needs to keep his secret. Further into the song (Santa Fe Prologue) he decides he can trust Jack with his secret and he should go. He regrets it while remembering Winnie. His crutch is from polio, which he survived because he can’t die.
The little theater here in Slidell, LA is currently doing this musical. It is because of them I'm just now discovering it! So we can thank the little guys for keeping it alive!

it's sad that when a show like hamilton comes along, it does so many great things for live theater in general but at the same time decimates shows like tuck that don't have built in or established fan bases. poor guys, they never even had a chance. at least all the promo work they did lives on.
A part of me wonders if he doesn’t end up with more prominent roles *because* he is such an amazing dancer. You can tell he truly loves it. A leading role wouldn’t give him the opportunity to dance much. I was really bummed when I heard he got injured before West Side Story opened. Can’t wait to see him in the movie, even if it’s a smaller role than before.
This reminds me just how creepy it was the sort-of love story between young Winnie and much older Jessie. The movie made it much less disturbing. But this looks beautiful.
+seeleyboothfan2 I agree. Jesse was in his late teens, and Winnie was in her early teens. It makes sense considering the timeline, and the book played the romance subtly. However, in this musical, the guy playing Jesse is much much older that it makes it VERY creepy, adding a much more sinister context to their relationship. I don't understand why they couldn't get a younger actor to play Jesse.

Yes this show was amazing, but the best part is the choreo. It’s so beautiful. That’s what makes me so sad. A show with so many amazing dance numbers and it lasted about a month. I’m so in love with this show
This whole video is great. From Ben's juggling fail when the ball gets tossed it, to the great dance break during Partner in Crime, to Sarah's insane vocals on Everlasting... I love this show so much.
My theatre group had the tremendous privilege to do Tuck Everlasting in Winter 2018 and it was one of the most beautiful productions ive ever seen. We even got a break a leg note from Sarah (the actress of Winnie) and with 2 of my best friends playing Winnie, it was such a wholesome expirience. This is a beautiful musical and deserves more recognition that it got and this video needs more than 329k views.
The dad has an AMAZING voice! Just wow! I mean, they all do, but I was definitely not expecting all that fire 😊. The older brother too. All of them are just so talented. I am moved to tears watching just how much care and work is going into this musical. Absolutely beautiful choreography too, makes me want to dance along 😊.

Casey Nicholaw seems to have the power to pull out people's dancing abilities. Apparently Brian d'Arcy James and Christian Borle weren't really tap dancers before Something Rotten, but they have a great tap battle at the end of Act 1. I'm sure Nicholaw is responsible for his dancing.
