Michigan's Iron Belle Trail

The Iron Belle Trail - Michigan’s showcase trail - touches hundreds of municipalities and crosses through 48 Michigan counties. Using existing trails, networks and new connections, the trail extends more than 2,000 miles from the far western tip of the Upper Peninsula to Belle Isle Park in Detroit. It includes one route for bicycling and another for hiking.

I’m so happy about our awesome trails. I live on the Consumers Energy Corridor. Can’t wait until it’s complete. I won’t have to ride down Dort Highway to go to Grand Blanc. I’m 57 and my car transmission went out. I bought a bike and don’t miss my car at all. I’m originally from Kalamazoo and remember when the Kalamazoo-Haven Trail started it all. Now it’s a State Park and goes Lake to Lake. Route 1 of the Great Lake to Lake Trails. Pure Michigan. I’m so glad we are embracing non motorized pathways. The logging and automobile industry history is awesome but also the original Native paths like the Saginaw and Pontiac trails. 🚴‍♂️🚂🐕🌷❤️
