  • The clock chimes of Wakefield Cathedral (ft Wakefield Town Hall, which you can hear at the start) strike midday. (the cathedral starts chiming at 0:25) The unique clock chime of Wakefield Cathedral was composed by Sir Walter Alcock, the then organist of Salisbury Cathedral in 1947, and is rung on the 14 Taylor Bells of the Cathedral, striking the hour on the 35 cwt tenor tuned to C. This hour chime makes use of the main 12 ringing bells of the Cathedral.
