  • Did a hike this Friday through four mountains: Elk, Thurston, Widow's, and Mercer Mountains in Chilliwack. The first part to Elk Mountain is busy and similar to the Grouse Grind, while the rest of the hike to the other three mountains is wild. Be ready not to meet anyone, especially after the second one-Thurston Mountain. The trail is well-marked, but offline navigation is highly recommended. Poles help a lot too, and make sure to bring plenty of water. There is still a little snow left on the way to Mercer Mountain, but it's melting fast-no spikes needed. There isn't much to see until the first peak, but there are a lot of views after you reach Elk Peak on the way to Mercer Mountain.
