The dungeon is meant to be S-rank meaning the more deeper he goes the ranks of the beast keep increasing till the final boss is at a much higher rank.

this is also true, and probably supported when in ep like 3 or 4 when he was doing his hypothesis on the name colors he was sayin that like white/green was weaker then him, orange was equal/maybe higher, and red was high/deadly. so i suppose going off of that and him probably being around a B rank, after so easily destroying the spider and then squad whiping the D/C ranks in the last dungeon, i was guestimate around a B-B+ for jin-woo currently. and Cerberus being around an A rank, but as it was completely moping the floor with jin and then maybe with that stat boost around A+/S. and thats just the gate guardian, like the minimum requirement to even enter the tower, and that thing looks like 80-100 floors, with some kinda boss prob every 5-10 levels.

It just happens to be the first mob he encounters in that S rank dungeon - same as how he encountered a goblin in the first instance dungeon but ended up fighting a Kasaka. Jinwoo also has the ideal buffs against it (Wolf Slayer, Kasaka buff minus the negative effects) and still struggles hard. At this point Jinwoo is high B at best.

He won mainly due to stacking damage reduction at the end which was probably at -70% due to the Willpower buff (-50%) and the Kasaka Venom (-20%). The title boost high STR, AGI and Dash skill helped as well. I don't think any of his debuffs were working due to the level of his opponent. His actual hunter rank scales with his MP which is not very high at this point. Yet another reason not to get his rank re-evaluated just yet.
btw! the cereberus wasnt an s class monster i’d say it was low A or a really high B , not all monsters in an s class dungeon are s class! hope that clears up c:
id say cerberos is mid-low B rank, it makes sense as a step up from the C rank boss spider, and it also makes sense for sung's future opponents (if you know who I'm referring to)
I just wanted to add, blessed mystery boxes are considered something he "WANTS" while the cursed mystery boxes are something he "NEEDS". mind you, this is the systems description of them, where we the reader/observer have absolutely no idea about what he "needs" but have an idea of what he (Jinwoo)"wants" and by choosing the blessed box this led him to the elixer of life recipe..for mom, something he wants. i hope that helps in some way, cheers!
I simply wanted to clarify some details that others haven't mentioned. He didn't experience a reawakening; instead, he acquired the system that he uses to level up. Additionally, he didn't purchase the poison from the shop; it was obtained during his encounter with the snake. He bought three potions from the shop. Furthermore, he cannot obtain teleportation stones from regular dungeons; he acquired the one he possesses from the last instance dungeon. He simply aims to level up further before returning.
One thing to keep in mind. The top rank is S. So in theory the gap between two S ranks could be as wide as the gap between an E and an A. So just because someone is an S doesn't mean they cant be severely outclassed by another S.
Yes, S basically means they can't measure it at all so it's a Special ranking. You can only compare one S to another to gauge their power or go by the opponents they can defeat. High PER skill may let you see the magic aura as well though some can hide it.
To clear up something about the dungeons and monsters ranks because I feel like people will keep getting confused with those: When a gate is classified as a certain rank, it doesnt mean that all the monsters in it are of this rank (so just because a gate is C rank not all monsters in it are Crank monsters). A gate is classified based on the total amount of magic energy the monsters in it emenate (its been mentioned in the first couple of episodes). For example a really big amount of E rank monsters + a D rank boss could make a gate C rank. And a small amount of D rank monsters + a C rank boss could also make a gate C rank. The ants in the Crank dungeon obviously were not Crank monsters (they were probably low Dor E rank). But their huge numbers + the fact the the dungeon boss was a pretty strong Crank one, made the gate C rank Hope this helps
That doesn't really apply to this episode but sure. The 1st key may just have had an S rank since it was possible he would never discover it or it may refer to the overall difficulty of the whole dungeon. The 2nd key was A rank due to the guard dog's high strength--you should probably be A rank or better to take him on. JW (barely) managed to pull it off using every trick he got from the system. Any other hunter his rank would have been dog chow.
Finally a reaction video who actually understands the plot, appreciates the voice actor animation and ost. Unlike others who just shouts and laugh the whole episode. Earned a sub and a like. Good job

So a lot of people don't understand or are confused to how Jinwoo was able to (barely) defeat Cerberus. One thing is that Cerberus is NOT a boss, just a gatekeeper for the Demon's Castle door. Jinwoo was able to stack a lot of stats together. We don't see a HP bar for the dungeon boss/other creatures so we can't exactly gauge how much damage Jinwoo is causing to these beasts. - his Venom Dagger weapon - has +25 attack, paralysis and drain (-1% health per second) - Title: Wolf Assassin - which gave him +40% damage to beasts - did 'Full Recovery' - which probably healed him 70-80% + healed his arm back - passive ability: Willpower - when his HP is low about 30%, he gets -50% less damage (only flashed on screen for 1 second, most likely missed by many) - bought healing potions - which only heals +100 HP per bottle (he got 3, which is +300HP) - Venom Poison (from the snake fight in ep 4) - which gave him -20% physical damage. [his immune to poison which negated the -35% strength] Jinwoo was only able to cause damage to Cerberus after Cerberus' 'Rage' ability ended. So by the end Jinwoo was tanking Cerberus' attacks by at least -70% less damage. They off-screened Jinwoo killing two heads, so it might have looked unnatural to see him defeat Cerberus by killing one head at the end.
For those wondering how Jin Woo beat an A-rank boss while being a B rank: Jin Woo's "B rank" status is not taking into account all the tricks he employed this fight to win against an A-tier monster: * Used a title buff (Wolf Assassin), which adds 40% stats against specific monster type (in this case, wolves). That normally wouldn't be active against a Spider or Snake boss, for example. * Used a full recovery, which he only had one of. Healed approx 50-75% * Used a temporary buff, adding 20% defense. * Used three health potions, for a total of 300 HP (about 8.5% max health) And it still brought him down to 5% HP at most. It was the closest fight hes had. He had to use numerous things that effectively added an entire life-bar worth of health. And had to stall out the bosses Rage mechanic by hiding.

The anime really did a fanstic job of these fights, in the light novels, Jinwoo beat both the Snake and Cerberus in about 2 pages, so im looking forward to the more drawn out fights in season 3-4
Most people say the Cerberus was an A-rank monster but when you think about it it makes more sense that it was a Peak B-rank monster which only reached A-rank while its 100% buff was active
Just so you guys know, the Cerberus was a Low-Mid B rank. It's an S rank dungeon because there is an S rank boss at the end of the dungeon, the dog was protecting the gates of the castle/hell which contained the actual strong monsters (i know all this because i read the manga but i can see how it's easy to overestimate the rank of the bosses), for example in the instance dungeon from the second episode, the starting enemies were goblins and wolves and it slowly progressed up to the Kasaka (big snake) also another thing is the drops of the boss don't determine the boss rank like Kasaka which was a D rank boss dropped an A rank item. Just to put the power scaling into prespective, Cha Hae In defeated that A rank boss with ease.
I would only accept low B for Cerberus if it was only comparing MP with JW since the name tag was red. JW obviously is low-mid B in combat ability since he can take out a rank C boss and multiple rank C hunters. His MP is still way low for his overall level since he's focused only on the other stats. That could also be why red mobs resist his attacks more often since MP probably stacks with defense/armor/resist.

[Clarification] The poison / toxin resistance is a reward from the double dungeon (first ep statue guys), along with being fully healed (why his arm and leg grew back), not from beating the snake :)
[Spoiler free - I THINK] . . I'm currently reading the manwha after every episode, just to make sure I grasp the story as much as possible. As for this episode, in the manwha, Jinwoo actually had a SKILL which activated automatically while he was taking damage from Cerberus (the beast) - that skill is called "Tenacity" and it shows that Jinwoo takes 50% less damage when he goes below 30% HP. They DID NOT show this in the anime, which I am not sure why, maybe they'll use it later, but it would've made the scene where Jinwoo's torso was literally in between the beast's teeth seem more "accurate" and not so "plot-armoured", since he drank that potion from the snake and gained 20% resistance, which surmounts to 70% total. PLUS, all his abilities went up by 40% BECAUSE he was fighting this wolf-type monster (and he has the "Wolf Assassin" title). So he takes 50% less damage when under 30% HP | + | 20% damage reduction from the snake potion | + | 40% increase in his powers | = | 70% + 40%, he literally takes 98% less damage (since it's 40% off the 70%, which 40% off 70 is 28, and 28+70=98, that's my logic). Lmao so much math and I hate math xD
they did show it in anime, it was just translated differently. in anime they named it willpower and effect was same. -50% damage taken while under 30% health
Btw, this Cerebrus was weaker than S-rank 'cause it was just gurading the entrance to the dungeon. It was probably low-A or mid-A rank (based on info we will get in the next episodes)

Red-coloured names on monsters are considered very difficult, almost impossible, orange is hard, but about even difficulty. White is under his current power level. Nicely done with your reaction! Keep it up! Recommend the 8 volumes of the LN for a 100% in-depth understanding of the story, manga / webtoon / anime for a story without a detailed understanding about ⅓ less.
FYI, I say that Episode 8 will be delayed, so may not have one next week. So dude is already S Rank. Since this is a boss and he soloed it. I'd say he'd be beyond, but S rank doesn't have an upper limit. So its a bit like One Punch Man, where there are huge power gaps within S rank. I don't know if those gaps exist in this world (other than Jinwoo). I personally thought it would have been cool if that mob was actually a basic mob. I don't see anyone commenting on how this dungeon was S rank difficulty but the Key he just received shows A rank difficulty.

1 thing to think about it is that a dungeon is filled with same ranked monsters, jinwoo nearly died vs 1 monster, now imagen how that would have gone if there was more than 1 cerb

This fight in the manhwa was mostly off screen, and the beast is definitely not S rank, Cerberus (not Cerebrus) is maybe A or B rank, and Jinwoo's level is about B rank currently, you'll know in the next fight
I'm pretty sure that the reveal of this formula will motivate jinwoo to take up jinho's offer so that he can just farm. It would make sense for him to prioritize exp as quickly as possible, and running C rank dungeons is the most obvious solution.
He always got random lootboxes from his daily quest, but it only got him useless stuff apart from his first dungeon key. The difference with the secret quest is that he could choose a blessed or cursed one instead of getting a regular one.
Just FYI, cerberus was probably an A rank beast. An S rank dungeon isn't filled with S rank monsters. It's rated S for the level of hunter that's needed to beat it

8:40 Ref leveling up and killing Cerberus later. That's not how it works. You don't gain the XP for leveling up until you kill the monster. In the fight against the steel-jawed wolves he was leveling up but those level ups happened after a kill. If he fights Cerberus, doesn't kill it and leaves he gets no XP and doesn't level up.
I imagine everything will come to a head with Hwang a little bit later...im assuming he'll level up when he accepts the contract with the upcoming guild master guy so earn's game experience and money for sure (im assuming the offer still stands since he didn't outright rejected it??). by then, i imagine Hwang will literally be just a low-rank npc relative to Jinwoo.
Jinwoo is far from S rank atm. Even at the pace jinwoo is levelling, you've got to realize the gap widens which each rank he climbs. You'd imagine it taking him half a dozen more episodes to level upto hwang.
Yeah idk why they didn't really clarify here that the Cerberus itself was not S-rank like they did in the manhwa. The dog was not an S-rank but the dungeon it's guarding is. That's why JinWoo was so sure he would die if he went in there, because all the monsters in there will be significantly stronger than Cerberus.
This episode is so different from the webtoon, and imo it was much better. Jinwoo took the poison from Kasaka when he learned he couldn’t get drunk NOT in the dungeon, and he literally got hit once by cerberus and got put to like 10% hp, then used the recovery reward and just twisted his neck and stabbed him a bunch of times. Just thinking about how much better it can get for the rest of the plot gives me goosebumps

First time Jinwoo look at that system panel, his mana was 10 the same as when the hunter association tested him the first time. Looking at the panel now, his mana already more than 10 so I think he will not be "E" anymore if being revaluate again. Just some info...
I would say the peak for E rank is around 100 to 150 base on the remark when that typical E ranks are around 70. Most below 50 probably choose not to be hunters. He's still pretty low rank based on MP alone but can fight one or two ranks higher due to all the system buffs and high STR/AGI.

The damage math is real... title wolf assassine 40% more damage in beast cretures.... first bite one third ... first claw slash 20% ... buff beast double damage for 3 min ... 50% less damage for been less then 30% life ... full recover ... second and third claw slash 50% damage on Jin Woo ... 300 HP recover from potions... 20% reduction damage from Akasaka poison on Jin Woo ... small bite thru the rocks (remember that he has a second 50% reduction for been below 30% HP again) ... and the drain and paralisis start to work after the end of the 3min beast buff .. the last bite took (correction) 20% (50% of 50% of %20) ... the math is matching
Jin Woo is no were near S Rank. The reason he was able to kill cerberus was because of his title which gives him 40% boost in all stats (which only works against animal beasts, not humans) which means he will be significantly weaker against human opponents, he has 50% damage reduction underneath 30% hp, and got another 20% damage reduction at the end. If we Are talking sheer combat power alone, no skills, abilities. His stats is around a mid c- rank. If we are talking with skills, i’d say hes Low B before the fight, and Gets to mid B Rank after the fight. maybe Low A against monsters due to his title, that is After this fight against cerb Spoiler below We see Jin Woo say he can’t take on Jinchul after beating Kang, so i’m taking my estimations from that. Hes a Max peak A Rank, very close to S

Just because a gate is of a certain rank doesn't mean all the beast are of that rank as well only the boss is all the rest are one rank below or even lower most of the time, Jinwoo is at the level of a B rank righ now so if that beast was an actual S rank he would have died instantly with no hope of doing anything, cerberus was at the very least at very strong B rank or maybe a very weak A rank so yeah the power gaps between ranks are no joke
JinWoo should be now at B- , and Cereberus Should be B+ to A- Rank, I want to clarify that gates are ranked based on the mana imitation level, the more mana it's emitting the higher rank it is, if we take a C rank gate we will find that mostly the boss is a C rank and the rest of the monsters are E and D, as for Hunters the S rank is a rank that is given to any Hunter who can not be measured so please do not think that S is close to A and the same thing goes for B and A the gap is so huge =)
The power of B rank for hunters different with monster.. B rank monster way more powerfull than B rank hunters.. for example, for B rank dungeon they need 4 or 5 A rank hunter plus several B rank hunter for them get permit to enter it..

Jinwoo was probably C class at the start of episode 6 and probably B class by the end of it. Cerberus here is the gatekeeper of an S class dungeon. He's probably low A class. He is DEFINITELY not S class here.

I simply wanted to clarify some details that others haven't mentioned. He didn't experience a reawakening; instead, he acquired the system that he uses to level up. Additionally, he didn't purchase the poison from the shop; it was obtained during his encounter with the snake. He bought three potions from the shop. Furthermore, he cannot obtain teleportation stones from regular dungeons; he acquired the one he possesses from the last instance dungeon. He simply aims to level up further before returning.
One thing to keep in mind. The top rank is S. So in theory the gap between two S ranks could be as wide as the gap between an E and an A. So just because someone is an S doesn't mean they cant be severely outclassed by another S.

Yes, S basically means they can't measure it at all so it's a Special ranking. You can only compare one S to another to gauge their power or go by the opponents they can defeat. High PER skill may let you see the magic aura as well though some can hide it.

To clear up something about the dungeons and monsters ranks because I feel like people will keep getting confused with those:
When a gate is classified as a certain rank, it doesnt mean that all the monsters in it are of this rank (so just because a gate is C rank not all monsters in it are Crank monsters). A gate is classified based on the total amount of magic energy the monsters in it emenate (its been mentioned in the first couple of episodes).
For example a really big amount of E rank monsters + a D rank boss could make a gate C rank. And a small amount of D rank monsters + a C rank boss could also make a gate C rank.
The ants in the Crank dungeon obviously were not Crank monsters (they were probably low Dor E rank). But their huge numbers + the fact the the dungeon boss was a pretty strong Crank one, made the gate C rank

That doesn't really apply to this episode but sure. The 1st key may just have had an S rank since it was possible he would never discover it or it may refer to the overall difficulty of the whole dungeon. The 2nd key was A rank due to the guard dog's high strength--you should probably be A rank or better to take him on. JW (barely) managed to pull it off using every trick he got from the system. Any other hunter his rank would have been dog chow.

So a lot of people don't understand or are confused to how Jinwoo was able to (barely) defeat Cerberus. One thing is that Cerberus is NOT a boss, just a gatekeeper for the Demon's Castle door. Jinwoo was able to stack a lot of stats together. We don't see a HP bar for the dungeon boss/other creatures so we can't exactly gauge how much damage Jinwoo is causing to these beasts.
- his Venom Dagger weapon - has +25 attack, paralysis and drain (-1% health per second)
- Title: Wolf Assassin - which gave him +40% damage to beasts
- did 'Full Recovery' - which probably healed him 70-80% + healed his arm back
- passive ability: Willpower - when his HP is low about 30%, he gets -50% less damage (only flashed on screen for 1 second, most likely missed by many)
- bought healing potions - which only heals +100 HP per bottle (he got 3, which is +300HP)
- Venom Poison (from the snake fight in ep 4) - which gave him -20% physical damage. [his immune to poison which negated the -35% strength]
Jinwoo was only able to cause damage to Cerberus after Cerberus' 'Rage' ability ended. So by the end Jinwoo was tanking Cerberus' attacks by at least -70% less damage. They off-screened Jinwoo killing two heads, so it might have looked unnatural to see him defeat Cerberus by killing one head at the end.
For those wondering how Jin Woo beat an A-rank boss while being a B rank: Jin Woo's "B rank" status is not taking into account all the tricks he employed this fight to win against an A-tier monster:
* Used a title buff (Wolf Assassin), which adds 40% stats against specific monster type (in this case, wolves). That normally wouldn't be active against a Spider or Snake boss, for example.
* Used a full recovery, which he only had one of. Healed approx 50-75%
* Used a temporary buff, adding 20% defense.
* Used three health potions, for a total of 300 HP (about 8.5% max health)
And it still brought him down to 5% HP at most. It was the closest fight hes had. He had to use numerous things that effectively added an entire life-bar worth of health. And had to stall out the bosses Rage mechanic by hiding.
He also utilized murderous intent as well which has a status effects

The anime really did a fanstic job of these fights, in the light novels, Jinwoo beat both the Snake and Cerberus in about 2 pages, so im looking forward to the more drawn out fights in season 3-4

3)Jinwoo is mid B rank after leveling up.
Most people say the Cerberus was an A-rank monster but when you think about it it makes more sense that it was a Peak B-rank monster which only reached A-rank while its 100% buff was active
Just so you guys know, the Cerberus was a Low-Mid B rank. It's an S rank dungeon because there is an S rank boss at the end of the dungeon, the dog was protecting the gates of the castle/hell which contained the actual strong monsters (i know all this because i read the manga but i can see how it's easy to overestimate the rank of the bosses), for example in the instance dungeon from the second episode, the starting enemies were goblins and wolves and it slowly progressed up to the Kasaka (big snake) also another thing is the drops of the boss don't determine the boss rank like Kasaka which was a D rank boss dropped an A rank item. Just to put the power scaling into prespective, Cha Hae In defeated that A rank boss with ease.
I would only accept low B for Cerberus if it was only comparing MP with JW since the name tag was red. JW obviously is low-mid B in combat ability since he can take out a rank C boss and multiple rank C hunters. His MP is still way low for his overall level since he's focused only on the other stats. That could also be why red mobs resist his attacks more often since MP probably stacks with defense/armor/resist.
Cerberus is A rank. Because jinwoo is B and he barely defeated him with 40 and 30 percent extra buffs from the tittle and low hp buff respectively.

One thing to note: Whang Dongsuk's and his team's bodies were left in the dungeon, and the gate closed, so they are permanently out of reach.

The poison / toxin resistance is a reward from the double dungeon (first ep statue guys), along with being fully healed (why his arm and leg grew back), not from beating the snake :)

I'm currently reading the manwha after every episode, just to make sure I grasp the story as much as possible.
As for this episode, in the manwha, Jinwoo actually had a SKILL which activated automatically while he was taking damage from Cerberus (the beast) - that skill is called "Tenacity" and it shows that Jinwoo takes 50% less damage when he goes below 30% HP. They DID NOT show this in the anime, which I am not sure why, maybe they'll use it later, but it would've made the scene where Jinwoo's torso was literally in between the beast's teeth seem more "accurate" and not so "plot-armoured", since he drank that potion from the snake and gained 20% resistance, which surmounts to 70% total. PLUS, all his abilities went up by 40% BECAUSE he was fighting this wolf-type monster (and he has the "Wolf Assassin" title). So he takes 50% less damage when under 30% HP | + | 20% damage reduction from the snake potion | + | 40% increase in his powers | = | 70% + 40%, he literally takes 98% less damage (since it's 40% off the 70%, which 40% off 70 is 28, and 28+70=98, that's my logic).

Red-coloured names on monsters are considered very difficult, almost impossible, orange is hard, but about even difficulty. White is under his current power level. Nicely done with your reaction! I'm pretty sure that the reveal of this formula will motivate jinwoo to take up jinho's offer so that he can just farm. It would make sense for him to prioritize exp as quickly as possible, and running C rank dungeons is the most obvious solution.
He always got random lootboxes from his daily quest, but it only got him useless stuff apart from his first dungeon key.
The difference with the secret quest is that he could choose a blessed or cursed one instead of getting a regular one.
Just FYI, cerberus was probably an A rank beast. An S rank dungeon isn't filled with S rank monsters. It's rated S for the level of hunter that's needed to beat it

Ref leveling up and killing Cerberus later.
That's not how it works. You don't gain the XP for leveling up until you kill the monster. In the fight against the steel-jawed wolves he was leveling up but those level ups happened after a kill. If he fights Cerberus, doesn't kill it and leaves he gets no XP and doesn't level up.
I imagine everything will come to a head with Hwang a little bit later...im assuming he'll level up when he accepts the contract with the upcoming guild master guy so earn's game experience and money for sure (im assuming the offer still stands since he didn't outright rejected it??). by then, i imagine Hwang will literally be just a low-rank npc relative to Jinwoo.
Jinwoo is far from S rank atm. Even at the pace jinwoo is levelling, you've got to realize the gap widens which each rank he climbs. You'd imagine it taking him half a dozen more episodes to level upto hwang.

Yeah idk why they didn't really clarify here that the Cerberus itself was not S-rank like they did in the manhwa. The dog was not an S-rank but the dungeon it's guarding is. That's why JinWoo was so sure he would die if he went in there, because all the monsters in there will be significantly stronger than Cerberus.

This episode is so different from the webtoon, and imo it was much better. Jinwoo took the poison from Kasaka when he learned he couldn’t get drunk NOT in the dungeon, and he literally got hit once by cerberus and got put to like 10% hp, then used the recovery reward and just twisted his neck and stabbed him a bunch of times.
Just thinking about how much better it can get for the rest of the plot gives me goosebumps
though i believe that cerberus was B+ rank at best because Kang (upcoming boss) will be a high B rank but without reading the manhwa i can see why people are overestimating the ranks of bosses, also you can't judge the rank of the boss from the drops, for example Kasaka, which was a D rank boss dropped an A rank item - Kasaka's Venom gland.

First time Jinwoo look at that system panel, his mana was 10 the same as when the hunter association tested him the first time. Looking at the panel now, his mana already more than 10 so I think he will not be "E" anymore if being revaluate again. Just some info...
I would say the peak for E rank is around 100 to 150 base on the remark when that typical E ranks are around 70. Most below 50 probably choose not to be hunters. He's still pretty low rank based on MP alone but can fight one or two ranks higher due to all the system buffs and high STR/AGI.

The damage math is real... title wolf assassine 40% more damage in beast cretures.... first bite one third ... first claw slash 20% ... buff beast double damage for 3 min ... 50% less damage for been less then 30% life ... full recover ... second and third claw slash 50% damage on Jin Woo ... 300 HP recover from potions... 20% reduction damage from Akasaka poison on Jin Woo ... small bite thru the rocks (remember that he has a second 50% reduction for been below 30% HP again) ... and the drain and paralisis start to work after the end of the 3min beast buff .. the last bite took (correction) 20% (50% of 50% of %20) ... the math is matching

Jin Woo is no were near S Rank. The reason he was able to kill cerberus was because of his title which gives him 40% boost in all stats (which only works against animal beasts, not humans) which means he will be significantly weaker against human opponents, he has 50% damage reduction underneath 30% hp, and got another 20% damage reduction at the end. If we Are talking sheer combat power alone, no skills, abilities. His stats is around a mid c- rank.
If we are talking with skills, i’d say hes Low B before the fight, and Gets to mid B Rank after the fight. maybe Low A against monsters due to his title, that is After this fight against cerb

Just because a gate is of a certain rank doesn't mean all the beast are of that rank as well only the boss is all the rest are one rank below or even lower most of the time, Jinwoo is at the level of a B rank righ now so if that beast was an actual S rank he would have died instantly with no hope of doing anything, cerberus was at the very least at very strong B rank or maybe a very weak A rank so yeah the power gaps between ranks are no joke

JinWoo should be now at B- , and Cereberus Should be B+ to A- Rank, I want to clarify that gates are ranked based on the mana imitation level, the more mana it's emitting the higher rank it is, if we take a C rank gate we will find that mostly the boss is a C rank and the rest of the monsters are E and D, as for Hunters the S rank is a rank that is given to any Hunter who can not be measured so please do not think that S is close to A and the same thing goes for B and A the gap is so huge =)
The power of B rank for hunters different with monster.. B rank monster way more powerfull than B rank hunters.. for example, for B rank dungeon they need 4 or 5 A rank hunter plus several B rank hunter for them get permit to enter it..

Jinwoo was probably C class at the start of episode 6 and probably B class by the end of it. Cerberus here is the gatekeeper of an S class dungeon. He's probably low A class. He is DEFINITELY not S class here.
