I totally agree! I got married at our local courthouse too! My dress was $50 and my mom bought us a cake for &100. We went to a local restaurant with family afterwards. That was 17 years ago and we’re still going strong. I just didn’t feel a big wedding was that important. We saved our $ and bought a house. We had a wedding that costed maybe $500 total, and we have over 400k in equity in our house now. A good trade off if I do say so myself! Lol
OMG, what a breath of fresh air. A young person who does not destroy their budget on a huge showy wedding. I know some people I need to share this video with.
Congrats!!! I love that you didn't spend too much on your wedding. Me and my husband had a small ceremony with maybe 20 ish people. I made my own dress. Husband rented his suit and it came with shoes. He also cooked all the food. We did a dessert table with pastries from my favorite bakery. We bought a flower girl dress and a suit for our 2 kids on Amazon super cheap. His mom gifted us the rental for the tent because it was outside. And 95% of the decor and flowers came from dolar tree before they added the 25 cents. I got a basic pixie cut. Music was a good bluetooth speaker and my tablet. I never did the total but without the cost of the tent I know we spent less than $1k.
You dont have to spend a lot of money to have an amazing wedding. It was perhaps the happiest day of my life!
We made something small as well my husband and I. Nothing big just close family and friends. We only spent like $1,500 and I wore a beige dress didn't go with the traditional white. Either way, can't wait to renew our vows once we hit our 10 years of being married lol so close 🤞

We had our wedding at the JoP too. Just our families. Went to a pizza joint for our reception. I am so grateful to my SIL. She gifted me a bouquet of my favorite flowers and paid for our "honeymoon" hotel room for the night. She also planned and paid for our big reception 3 months later and made our reception cake.

I've had both types of weddings. Spent over $10,000 on a church wedding. My second wedding we did a courthouse wedding and we spent around $1,000. I wouldn't trade the second one for the world.
Beautiful pictures. Yea we got my dress off of Craigslist. Most of the kids were from once upon a child and Burlington’s. I had two adults and my husband had two adults. We had way more kids. I don’t have many friends lol we saved a lot of money. We had three weeks to plan lol

Today is our 12 year anniversary. We got married at my in laws house infront of their stairs. My husband had his parents and brother plus his gf. I had my mom and dad and my gf. Congratulations! If small makes you happy that's definitely the way to go! We had 14 people including us at our wedding. With our rings and having someone come in to serve us a meal it cost $2000 12 years ago. I made our flowers and our cake myself. It was super nice to have it just be people close to us =) This year we're doing a big anniversary party though, with everyone I know invited lol

Thankfully, between my husband and my family, we have a lot of talented people. We had a wedding with 150 guests and it cost us $1000. Wedding can be beautiful and not cost a lot. My one aunt who paid over $50,000 for my cousins wedding said my wedding was the best wedding she ever attended.

We did, I should have included that. I do not know the cost of mine as I didn’t want to know / mike bought it but I bought mikes ring for $50. His ring was wayyyyy cheaper than mine 😂
