Theres no technique. Just count each loc into 4 if you are doing knotless, the correct number is 3 for medium and 4 for small sister locs. Make sure the hair has grown out 2 to 3 months no retightening and no interlocking then do the kotless
@SeaNicEscapesTravel number depends on the size of the braid you want but they have to be an even number to make up for the 84. So wirh 3 dreads per braid you should end up with 28 braids. For knotless it's 4 dreads per braid, you will end up with 21 braids. The size of your locs matter too, this why medium to small is always better

You can't keep this up for long. Your locs are gunna stick together especially not retwisting it before hand. So if you paying somebody to do this it's a waste of money

You don’t have to but if you want it to look like you have loose hair and not loc’d hair, don’t retwist. It’s just a matter of preference.
I guess it would really matter since your gelling it down anyway. I agree it based on the look you want at the base
