Payment Gateway बैंकों (#banks) और लेनदेन रिपोर्ट के वितरण को बढ़ावा देने वाली वेबसाइटों के बीच के मध्यस्थ तत्व (intermediary elements) हैं। यह खरीदार बैंक से जानकारी प्राप्त करता है और प्राप्त बैंक को यह जानकारी प्रदान करता है और इस पर अपनी प्रतिक्रिया दर्ज करता है कि क्या लेनदेन को मंजूरी दी गई है या अस्वीकार कर दिया गया है।
उदाहरण के लिए: जब हम कुछ ऑनलाइन खरीदते हैं या बिल का भुगतान करते हैं, जब हम "अभी भुगतान करते हैं" पर क्लिक करते हैं, तो हम एक नए पृष्ठ पर निर्देशित होते हैं। यह वेबसाइट का पेमेंट गेटवे साइट है, जिस पर हम सामान / सेवाओं के लिए भुगतान कर रहे हैं। संवेदनशील जानकारी को किसी भी धोखाधड़ी और गलत बयानी से बचाने की आवश्यकता है जैसे डेबिट / क्रेडिट कार्ड नंबर, इंटरनेट बैंकिंग आईडी और पासवर्ड, आदि।
भुगतान और निपटान प्रणाली (#PSS) अधिनियम की धारा 4 के अनुसार, RBI को छोड़कर कोई भी व्यक्ति भुगतान प्रणाली को संचालित या शुरू नहीं कर सकता है। RBI को प्राधिकरण के लिए आवेदन PSS अधिनियम की धारा 5 के तहत किए जाने की आवश्यकता है।

Second Party Providers
यह विकल्प स्टार्ट-अप और अपने शुरुआती चरण में छोटे व्यवसायों के लिए महंगा है। निर्धारित प्रदाताओं के लिए लेन-देन छूट दर (TDR) कम है, लेकिन सेट-अप लागत अधिक है।
Third Party Providers
इस प्रकार के प्रदाता के लिए भुगतान PayU, CC Avenue, EBS हैं। ये प्रदाता वार्षिक और सेट-अप शुल्क दोनों लेते हैं। इस प्रकार के प्रदाता के लिए टीडीआर लगभग 2% से 4% है।
Basic Requirements for Payment Gateway #License
• The entity must be registered under the Companies Act, 1956 or the Companies Act, 2013
• A minimum of two members or directors
• Address proof of the business
• 5 years business plan
• PAN and Current Account of the company
• System Flow and Code Testing Report by Software certifying agency
• Service Tax #Registration Number
• Compliance with PCI DSS
Documents required for Payment Gateway License
1. A copy of COI (Certificate of Incorporation) of the Company received from ROC (Registrar of Companies);
2. PAN Card Details and Address proof of the Directors;
3. DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) and DIN (Director Identification Number) of the directors;
4. Address proof of the Registered Address;
5. Details of the Company’s Bank Account;
6. Company’s Business plan for the next five years;
7. Report on Code testing by a Software Agency.
