Really a brilliant touch to have Johnny toss the fishing pole and shoot at the fish that got away. Totally in keeping with his character always being "Johnny Madrid" just beneath the civilized surface of Johnny Lancer.
So touching !!! I wish all the child actors would get together and write a book about Lancer & their experiences with James Stacy and Wayne Maunder. I want someone to write a book about James Stacy
So do I! I have done some research and worked on a tribute, but there. are too many unknowns. And I was told by someone to back off, even on my Lancer fition book.
BLUE SKIES FOR WILLIE SHARP WAS A WONDERFUL EPISODE, BECAUSE IT SHOWED MURDOCH & HIS BOYS & JELLY HAVING A FUN DAY OF FISHING. EVEN WITH JOHNNY GETTING MAD, & SHOOTING THE FISH, IT WAS A FUN DAY AS A FAMILY. MEETING LITTLE WILLIE SHARP & HEARING HIS STORY ABOUT HIS GRANDFATHER, & HOPING AGANIST HOPE THAT HIS GRANDFATHER WOULD TAKE A GRANDSON UNSEEN. SCOTT & JOHNNY KNOWS HOW IT FEELS TOO THINK YOU ARE NOT WANTED. ESPIECALLY JOHNNY, SO THEY MAKE SURE THAT WILLIE WILL ALWAYS HAVE BLUE SKIES. SCOTT'S COMPASSION FOR HIS FELLOW MAN IS TO TURN WILLIE'S, GRANDFATHER THE TOWN DRUNK, INTO THE RESPECTABLE MAN BEFORE. WITH A LOAD OF DETERMINATION SCOTT, HELPS WILD BILL BECOMES THE MAN & THE GRANDFATHER WILLIE NEEDS & WILL GROW TO LOVE. (NOTE) NOT ONLY WAS IT BLUE SKIES, FOR WILLIE & HIS GRANDFATHER, BUT VERY BLUE SKIES, FOR MURDOCH & HIS BOYS SCOTT & JOHNNY & BEST FRIEND,& CROTCHEY UNCLE JELLY. (NOTE AGAIN) AS THE SONG SAYS "I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW"😀😍😍🎥💝
ACTORS KEENAN WYNN& CLINT HOWARD MADE A BELIEVABLE TEAM, AS GRANDFATHER & GRANDSON. ALSO TO ROUND OUT THE GROUP AS THE BADDIE, WAS ALFRED RYDER. HE HAVE ALWAYS DID HIS BEST WORK, AS THE BAD GUY. GREAT WORK GUYS. A LANCER FAN.🎥🎥💝😀😍
To @barabarawhite2928 Hello. I'm glad you remembered Ron Howard's younger brother's first name. I recognized him right off in my first sight of him. I just not gotten to remember his first name. Clint is a nice name, yet for me Ron is best. I have only one brother who's name is Ronald. Although since McDonald's opened, He goes by Ron Wayne. It's too funny still to me. Just had to share that with You All!
'Lancer' certainly was a showcase for the best child actors of the 60s and 70s: Clint Howard, Ronnie Howard, Lisa Gerritson, Barry Williams, Eve Plumb, Pamela Ferdin, Johnnie Whittaker, Danny Bonaduce ... most of whom would become featured players in other TV series.
You said it! But it's Pamelyn Ferdin. I also noticed Michael James Wixted & even Manuel Padillo Jr a couple of times as a small Mexican child. And how about that little blond girl who sang for her supper, Penny Rose?
Was Danny Bonaduce ever in an episode of Lancer? I don't see him credited as such on IMDb (although they do miss things occasionally). I actually didn't see a credit for Pamelyn Ferdin being on Lancer, either, although she was in an episode of Wayne Maunder's Custer.
I adored Manuel Padilla, Jr. too, by the way. He played Indian boys in "Man Without a Gun" and "Lamp in the Wilderness." He really stood out in everything he was ever in.
These storytelling have great moral values. I have enjoyed ALL THOSE I've seen thus far! 10 Stars points for Family's Values! Values
Beautiful work by Wayne Maunder. Nice to see the tougher side of Scott, along with his usually kind heart

Bad times for JAmes Stacy , lost arm n leg to a motorcycle wreck, accused of being a child molester but I'm not sure about that one
I love this episode
Bayn Johnson, the little girl singer, apparently was a regular on a TV show when she was a teenager, but surprisingly I had never heard of her.

This episode was done on several other westerns.
That had some great guest stars. I young Sam Eliiott in this one and I saw a very young Tom Selleck in another. Thanks for posting!!!!
Sam Elliot was in the one with Tom Selleck as well. I wonder when Sam got the gravel in his voice.

Atlas Johnny strikes again.
I guess I was mistaken about Danny Bonaduce being on Lancer. I was probably thinking of Billy Mumy, the two boys resemble each other.
I thought that was a young Sam Elliott that was the cowboy who decided not to draw on bill Sharp
