Hi everyone I confirmed with Momma that she uses baking powder not soda. But since I didn't have the brand she is familiar with she got confused.

Your madrecita is so adorable. She reminds me so much of mom who is now 82 but having a few health issues including arthritis which does not permit her to make anymore homemade tortillas because of pain to her hands. Your mom still has so much energy. Your dynamics with her remind me so much of mom and I. I just wanted to stop by and say “hi” and saludos from Dallas, TX from mom and I.❤

My grandmother used to tortillas for the grocery store in St. Paul, MN many years ago. All handmade every single day. She would make 60 to 70 dozens a day. That was her income to make ends meet. I remember I couldn't turn the tortillas with my fingers had to use a fork to lift and than flip. Still makes them for the family in her 90's. Smaller batches of course. Great memories.

My granny also preferred crisco , she would say “ now we are cooking with crisco” for various accomplishments. She was born in Devine near SA and would also say ”San Antonio road!” As a saying also.

I make my own breads and biscuits but I’ve never made tortillas. They look wonderful. Thank your mama for showing it’s how it’s done! And on another note I saw your canned pintos, that reminds me I need to get some canned. I am completely out! Thanks for sharing your mama with us ❤
Beans and tortillas are a staple. When I showed her how I canned my beans she was amazed. She has always put her beans in the freezer. ❤️ Thank you for watching

Okay, I'm curious. Your momma described Clabber Girl (I believe) baking powder not soda. They're not the same thing. So, was it supposed to be soda or baking powder?
