There is no such thing as the most important soul artist since whatever…, Meshell has without a doubt a major influence on the scene and she is simply fantastic but music isn’t a competition, what about D’Angelo for example? At the end it’s just all about our personal taste

Got the fortunate pleasure of seeing Ms. Ndegeocello in the early days (my early days) when I was given an assignment by Warner Bros to photograph her at the debut performances at ACME down on 3rd street. She is mesmerizing in concert and personably. I almost got a chance to be in her MV 'Let Me Run My Fingers Through Your Dreadlocks' when I was sent for the go-see but my 6 year old locks weren't quite the length they were looking for at that time. LoL In the past couple decades I've watch her music transform into some engulfing styles. I see she's got gigs lined up for 2021.Looking fwd to that and to getting the hell outta this year as well !

Thanks for posting. The audio & video from the source should be remastered. The whole band was killing .. Meshell is a musical genius.

    - David Dyson simply putting on a bass clinic on Ecclesiastes here. Dammit! Tone, soul, feeling. Talk about the core of a rhythm section.
Me'Shell put together one of the best bands back in the 90's, hands down. FGP on keys and Allen Cato on guitar. I just cant get enough of what they did back then. Saw em live in Seattle in '99 and will never forget it.
