As a recently realized aro/ace man, I appreciate the support. However I never really did feel "broken" though. Actually I thought my apparent lack of interest in romance or intimacy was cool long before I even knew what it was. Still I very much appreciate the sentiment.

I love the song and the words about “Don’t you want a family”. But I don’t understand the words “for me there just ain’t enough hours in the day”. Being on your own for a while especially to earn money makes sense, but if you’re meant to get married and you’re avoiding it in the long term then you’re just gonna make yourself miserable
It’s not that we want to be alone. It’s just that we don’t want romantic relationships with others. We still want friends and people in our lives, just not in that way. The problem is that the world is so focused on sex and romance that having a platonic relationship with someone is far less valued than a romantic one.
@@justyourlocalnerd8629 It is so cool when there are great friendships with no desire to be together so closely, an unconditional love. But what if you were meant to get married? I mean sex is not a bad thing, it is holy when it occurs between two married people, man and wife. Heaven touches earth in that moment because it is a reflection of the connection God shares with His Church. It is not physical but He desires to be so closely united to His people that its like two beams of light drawing ever closer together till they become one. A life-giving love.
I agree the world has tried to turn romance into something selfish and all about pleasure, but true love between a man and woman is filled with sacrifice and beauty.
I value so much the love i have for the man i wanted to marry but then God told me He wanted me to be a nun. I wanted to be with that man so much, but now it is platonic, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. So now i will never be married (except to God) and i do value that.
The world is indeed too focused on weird things, if only it would focus on the truth and beauty of something it would see the hand of God in everything
The world has indeed made romance into something over sexualized and they don’t appreciate regular, affectionate friendships, and having regular friendships is really good and beautiful.
But if we’re meant for something more, to have a family of our own, then striving for a romantic relationship isn’t something to be avoided. Because it is also beautiful.
Honestly, this song made me feel a bit better about being aroace. It can be hard to live in such an amatanormative society, but stuff like this and having people who accept you makes it a bit easier
It’s normal to be attracted you’re just not supposed to be lustful and indulge in your passions but keep yourself for the person you might marry. Being attracted isn’t wrong as long as you aren’t being sinful and not being attracted ever isn’t quite normal either, you just need to find the middle ground
@@viccymthe comment wasn't about that. Aromantic people feel little to no romantic attraction towards anyone and asexual people feel little to no sexual attraction towards anyone. You can't choose whether you feel these things or not.
@@enni4802 It means there is something wrong, just like homosexuality is caused by trauma this is no doubt caused by trauma as well. To control sexual passions is good and pure, but to never experience any attraction even in a romantic way is not normal. Even little kids have romantic crushes on characters from stories or films.
Something occurred in these people's lives whether they realized it or not that either made them fear it and stay away from it or stopped something from working in the brain and body.

I assume trying to reason would be pointless, but I have to say that sexuality isn't caused by trauma. Same way little kids can have crushes to characters for example, they can also have crushes to same sex characters without having been through trauma. It's normal and it is usually evident from young age. And theur sexuality doesn't change to straight after trauma, why would it happen other way around? Even some animals are homosexuals and they for example take care of orphans and such.
@@enni4802 it’s kind of funny how you put it “you’re one of those”. 😆. I’m not exactly sure how you see us but believe me, I’m nothing if not reasonable. Of course sexuality isn’t caused by trauma, but homosexuality is. It does tend to manifest in younger years, but the terrible things that happen to them tend to happen when they’re young and vulnerable so of course it manifests at a young age. But they’re never born that way otherwise people wouldn’t switch from gay to bi, gay to straight, straight to gay. There’d be no such thing as people who are no longer gay if they were born like that.
Ask most gays who tell their stories, they’ve all experienced either rape from adults or kids their age, abuse from parents or peers, neglect from parents or lack of a certain parent, homosexual influence, they felt different and left out as they grew up, they went through a surgery, or male and female were explained incorrectly to them so they thought they were something else or a combination of several of these.
Kids will have same sex crushes if something happened to them.
And I don’t know much about homosexual animals but since homosexuality causes cancer, genital warts, AIDS, HIVs, then it can’t be very true animals do that very often unless something is wrong with the animal. With all the poisons dumped on us I’m sure it’s affecting the animals. But if the people who told us gay was normal lied to us then I wouldn’t trust none of their studies on animals either

Tho I already had a huge romantic crush or should I say I fell in love romantically on someone once for 3+ years and a several crushes after that didn't last that long but all are one-sided only and was never pursued and most of them are forced or I just only found them physically attractive, friendly, and smart in school, that's all. I spent most of my pre-teen and teen life trying hard to fit in the hetero romantic and sexual norm of the society. It is only today, being an 18 year old that I truly explored and realized on which I do really belong. I identify myself as gray-sexual and gray-aromantic , and proud to be one 🖤🩶🤍💜💚🌈
