This experience is not what you'll get in the Issaquah Highlands area. You'll see comments here about the Highlands being "Yuppie Town". I must admit that is somewhat true, I live in the heart of Issaquah Highlands since early 2015 and while I do like it here the cost of living is VERY high when compared to other areas nearby such as Snoqualmie, Bellevue, Redmond, and Samammish. Again when considering this video the area spoken of is the historic district and yes the people are VERY friendly but in the Highlands, unless you say Hi to someone you won't hear anyone saying "Hello" or "Hi" to you. Hense... yuppie town. :) But where can you live that is VERY close to skiing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, night life (restaurants, performing arts, and theater), shopping at Grand Ridge Plaza, while living close to major northwest employers Costco, T-Mobile, Microsoft, Amazon, and others.
issy use to be nice in 85to90 THEN IT BECAME A ZOO... i moved because it got taken over by yupppys....now its a yuppy zooo my wifes grate grand mother came to issy in 1891 from illanoise in a coverd wagon. ther wer only 3 buildings on dusty road front street....the rolling log bar and the H are all thats left o and the old theater from the old dys. and train staiton
Is there anywhere in the Seattle area that has any sort of black culture? When I was visiting I probably saw 4 black people and they were all honestly very weird encounters. I'd like to live in the area if I was certain I would find the diversity but every video seems directed towards upper class people....not of color.
If you want to see or hang out with African American Families/Folks then head to either Downtown Seattle, West Seattle, Auburn, Covington, Renton. If you want Asian: Head to downtown seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Renton Highlands. If you want Mexican..I mean I can keep going and going. Diversity is where you look. It's all around in WA State.
i miss sky diving at the old air port and flying gliders..............thoes wer the good days now at 5pm daily thru week u get off 90 go south on front street it will take u 45 mins to get to hobart rd.. and its only 3 miles pathetic...........................................
I grew up here and graduated from Issaquah High school and once you remove the sugar coating... Issaquah has one of the worst youth drug problems on the east side of king county. People are constantly trying to steal from target and Safeway. Property value and proper tax are some of the highest in the country. There is nothing to do in this town unless you have money to go shopping or one of the towns 10 bars. It's a 9:00 o clock town of pansies. I'm glad I left that dead beat yuppie town years ago and never looked back. King county genrally doesn't care about the constitution or federal regulations placing city and state laws first.
Friendly? Some of them, sure. Able to drive? Not at all. What is it with people from outside of Washington State that don't realize the simple basics of driving? You can turn right at a red-light in WA State folks. You can pass drivers that are slow on through streets, as long as there isn't a barrier or a double line on the road. Keep up with traffic, and quit slowing down to look at a crash. When you hear and see sirens, pull the fu** over!
