- Continuing on my new buy year. It's been up & down but more up than down so I'm taking that as a win!

MY RULES:
1. Replacement only if NOTHING else in my collection can serve the same purpose.
2. Three time exemptions ; Italy, France & Black Friday. But Hard no buy categories are still not allowed.
3. 100 uses on oldest palettes before can purchase a new palette.

I love your tattoo Ruth ❤ I’m doing a low buy and so far it’s been pretty good, I’ve brought in 3 products for the year so far. The series you do with evaluating your purchases has been a wonder for me because it has made me reflect on my collection and the money I’ve spent on it. How much money I’ve “decluttered” for whatever reason concerns me so I’m making serious changes. Whenever I really feel like shopping for makeup I go touch my makeup and look at all the beautiful things I have to play with. I know I will get something here or there once in a while but nothing like I used to! My spending has gone way down.

Hi Ruth my low buy is actually going ok tbh. I had a break from youtube for a few weeks (on holiday to the US, illness including a hospital visit and then family staying for a fortnight). I was just too busy for social media for around six weeks and I had little time to worry about shopping. I did get a few things in the US I had planned to buy, but nothing after that except a few toiletries I needed to replace eg antiperspirant and toothpaste. These are things I buy when I need them and don’t keep backup stock for. Being off social media really made a difference tbh. I’m back to some viewing of youtube but have curtailed the amount and still haven’t bought anything new. I think that’s progress 😂right? Best wishes x
Ever since my no-buy year ended I’ve been continuing my slow shopping kick. Contrary to my hopes, it hasn’t gotten significantly easier. But I have been finding tools to help, and that has made me more successful. Not perfect, but growing in the right direction.

I love Revolut for the pockets too! We already have one for the groceries, and I've started one for my monthly beauty budget and for takeaways as they were getting out of hand. They help so much. You're doing great Ruth. I started a makeup no buy on 14th January. I went crazy buying makeup that weekend and as I was putting my purchases in my drawers something clicked that I just had way too much makeup. I started a proper project pan a week later. I've only bought 4 products since then which for me is so good. It's also prompted me to go through my other beauty products and focus on using them up, particularly all my travel products. You're doing so well yourself Ruth 🙂
Oh Lorna I did the exact same thing! Panic bought a load of makeup before I started my no buy ! I haven't even tried them all yet , it was so stupid in hindsight! Not like I "Needed" any of it! But the main thing is that we are trying and succeeding more often than not! Go US!!!

Those three products will get used up quickly. So not bad. I have many days I don’t even think about buying anything. Then those days I just want to shop are really hard days. But, what changed for me is it’s now financial. I’m paying for not just me anymore. Send prayers my aunt finds a job. The stress of money is killing me. 😢

I made a shop miss a haul and i totally failed my no buy😂. But I'm back on track, but Ensley reign is really living in my head daily😂. Love the tattoo 😍 I'm trying to save to do some outside work in my yard.

My low buy has been really good. This month I only bought a Maybelline red lipstick, which was on the discontinued rack for AUD$4. In March I went to Sephora and got the 3 pack of Tarte mini mascaras for AUD$51
I need to start a no-buy, or at least a serious low buy. After binging since Covid I have supplies for makeup, hygiene and skincare to last me another pandemic! Only improvement I have made since January is limit myself to one eyeshadow palette per month (wow! Such restraint!). Everything else fair game. Now I really need to stop buying everything! You are inspiring me!
Oh ya the pandemic hit me hard, it was such a coping mechanism, buying ALL the things. But I think I may hopefully FINALLY got a hold on things xoxo
My “buy only when needed” has been a struggle! I just bought things I don’t really need. I justified it because I was able to stack coupons on top of sale prices, so I did get them for great prices… but I just don’t need them. I already have back-ups!! Items include toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Sigh

I love your tattoo! I have a big one on my lower back and it was pretty painful but I still want to get a lot more 😝 They are expensive though 😅
My low buy is going ok, Ive gotten a few palettes but I'm alright with that. If I had the money I'd buy all the things too 😂

Viseart had a sale and so did Clionadh - my no buy is an epic fail. Looks like you have some competition for the easiest person in the world to influence. On the bright side, I do have some pretty new eye shadow and I won't be buying anything in the Sephora Sale.

@@ruthfoley yes. but no make up make up. a couple perfumes (bottle and a travel) and some over priced body wash (just to see what it's like). and when I make my second order? it'll have a favourites kit that has a bit of make up. but still. not too shabby. (pretend pretend)
