It's taken me month's to through this drama and oh my goodness, it was worth it. Amazing actors and amazing show. I am very happy i randomly came across this. Thankyou for uploading. It was a roller-coaster of emotions. I saw how it ended first, but i still had hoped for them as i watched. I finally understand how they reached the point of no return 😭 Wonderful show 👏

Hi, it depends on how you interpret the ending. I would like to think of it as he wanted to meet her again in the hereafter because directly after this scene, Qing Ying appeared to him smiling and running towards him. :) This is indeed a tragic love story.

Now after some years looking back, i don't think it was honorable but selfish of him to tie their hair back together. Ruyi cut it because she wanted to end their karma, but through his action he bound them back together in the after life and the reincarnations to come. Absolute selfish

IRL i doubt men like the king have regrets of their old wives. Id they did they would stop chasing women. If any regrets came, it would be very fleeting and inconsequential. What use is regret without change?
Not only that he slept with han princess by presiding ryui that han princess to live for himself.He slap ruyi two time very harshly.He thought person who save ruyi son has affair with ruyi emperor tried to prove that she had affair with him.He doesnot care what ruyi feel.He derved loneliness limetime.😢
I mean, yes, but at the same time she gained no luxury, favor or status for herself, which is what she wanted. He got what she wanted for him but she’ll never be able to enjoy it. So, at least to me, it’s a hollow win for her. It’s not just that either when you think about it: she’s still the imperial noble consort in title but for 9 years she’s lived even worse then Ruyi did. She didn’t even get to enjoy this position for long either before she was exposed. That’s why I don’t think it paid off and if anything it’s her worst nightmare come true: she lost all of the status, favor and luxury she was so hellbent on gaining/keeping and I doubt anybody actually cares (maybe besides her children) how she’s been doing. With Ruyi, she was still respected and had her sister’s on the outside trying to help her and who were concerned for her. But Ling? 1. She wasn’t ever actually respected by the harem so I doubt any of her “friends/followers” gave a damn about her 2. If anybody tried speaking up for her I doubt the emperor would like that. I love it and she deserves it

i think all the actions when ruyi was alive eg burning her painting away etc. also when the emperor read the only letter that ruyi left for yongji when she stated " she wishes yongji to have freedom to choose what he wants to do and she does not want to see what he does not want to do " that where the emperor understand ruyi does not want him to be the next crown prince/ emperor. these action is not just letting ruyi free alone, but also yongji. i do agree ruyi action seems she is also freeing herself from the emperor , but on the other hand .she is also freely yongji not to have the identity of being the "empress son". rmb the identity of being empress son seems to be important to be the next crown prince. ( hope u also understand as well)
