I loved Mini Fair. My first trip over for it and won’t be my last that’s for sure. I was literally the first person in through the doors as I was queued since 8am to make sure I was getting the most from the day. Like you said a really chilled event. Was great to finally meet you in person Marc and have a good chat, and to meet Garry the Clubbie of course too. And most certainly get that van started buddy.
@DeanofMachines me to buddy the wheels currently on it are a 70’s wheel which I love but they might be moving to another car now so I need something else but wanted something a little different like mentioned
That looked a great show as always! The concourse section is always my favourite. The Mini vans were exceptional! (And yes, you definitely should start yours). Some of the Minis there I recognise from local shows near to me which was a nice surprise. Those wheels were a nice find too!👍
Looks a great show. I didn't attend this year due to work, but the club I am in with my mini didn't do it this year either. I've never done this show actually, done all the rest, hopefully next year. :)
Definitely. Funnily enough I saw you at Himely last year, and walked past you while you was filming - i am actually on your vid on YT lol.... I was on that show with my club as well. @@SimpsonsClassics
It’s really good a nice indoor close knit show with plenty to see but not to much that your can’t do it in a day. Definitely be nice to see you there next year 👍
no worries I just wanted to leave you to do your thing :) - I too spent most of my time meeting some fantastic people - its a great venue for this.@@SimpsonsClassics
As I've said before I would love to see your van done up in the same style as the budget clubman. Even more so now that the cost of the world has gone up so much. Is it still possible to restore one on a limited budget that the average person can afford, rather than the open cheque book type of restorations that a lot of people seem to do.
The van will be somewhat of a budget build as it’s self funded I always try to keep costs down so I will try and document that side if things. Unless you want to have a go yourself, unfortunately it’s a case of paying a company out there to sort it. Most company’s are decent and you do a part paying scheme which helps. I guess this is for the people who don’t want to have a go or simple can’t due to lifestyle. Stay tuned for the van it’s coming as soon as some jobs are ticked off the list 👍
I would find it way more interesting as a budget build. I followed the clubman all the way. Around that time I started my Bedford van build, like you on a strict budget, life keeps getting in the way but hopefully in a few more months it should be in top coat, having replaced virtually the bottom 3rd of it. Unlike minis parts are very hard to source having found them literally from all around the whole world, Egypt to date is the furthest away that I bought some spares from. Please crack on with the van as soon as you can. Look forward to seeing the progress.
I found Bingley a bit manic this year - at least for the first couple of hours. The queue to get in was worse than usual unless you were paying at the door in which case you could just walk straight in. Perhaps the organisers should make an effort to address this. I didn't get to speak to you as you were quite busy. I did get something I wanted from the auto jumble so that was good but it was a bit of a scrum. I might give the auto jumble a miss next year and just turn up at lunch time when the crowds have eased off. Yes, get your van started!
Yes I did hear that the queue to get in was a little long. Sorry I didn’t get chance to say hi it was another manic one that’s for sure but good all the same. I thought the autojumble was really good this year.
Fiberglass Minis were built in Chile in the 70's. There is a sheet out there by BMC stating they did a bit better in the crash test than steel Minis.
Thanks for the comment, interesting history 👍
What a wicked show. Think my favourite mini was the black and grey one. See you at Rustival!
Cheers it’s a great event. Yes catch you there. Hopefully we make it aha
Thanks for featuring my work buddy! Genuinely means so much 💪💪
Not a problem buddy
Yes! Get cracking on the Van!
Yes!!! Get the van started :) can’t wait! Some good looking cars there this year. Bit gutted I missed it.
All in good time buddy got a few cars and jobs to sort first but I want to start it so badly. Hopefully see you there next year..

Awesome video. ‘The Mecca of indoor shows’ you are too kind sir. But thank you. Really pleased you had a great day 👍
Honestly the best way to start the year and show season is Bingley Hall. If there is anything you need help with for the next event just shout 👍
It was certainly a great way to start the year, and thanks for the kind offer 👍
Please start the van!!

Looking like you had a Wheely good time. Nice to see some minis being dechromed, it's a bit different
Yeah it was a wheely good time! It does seem to be a thing now dechroming cars
Where can I find a van to restore ❤
All your normal places there is a few on eBay right now
