  • A quick guide to cleaning and re-lubricating the hinge clamps on your bike. You should do this once every 2-3 months depending on how much you ride and what conditions you use your bike.
    When the hinge clamps and contact points on the frame get dry/dirty it can make a creaking or snapping sound. Luckily it's a pretty easy fix and gives you a chance to check up on some of the wear points on your bike.
    If the hinge has a lot of play (E.G. the hinge has a rocking movement when closed) it may be time to replace the hinge pin. You can go to a Brompton service shop for that, it's not something that is easy to do at home

    Great ending to a great video. My bike has helicopter tape inside the aluminum clamp part. 😱 I’m doing it wrong again.

      Haha well if it works. I change mine out pretty often, but I do ride a lot of kms. I have never seen one fail but its not something I would want to have happen.
