Dragan Vidic :: "... a contralto sounding ..." ? This woman _is_ a Contralto ! AND a great one. Go to RUclips & hear her sing _Ulrica._ It's supernatural !
@@tristanberger8500 :: Did you hear her _Ulrica_ on YOU-TUBE ? High notes ? She's a contralto. Give her a break. Vibrato-problems ? How many great singers have had this problem ( Callas ? ). Boscolo's voice is phenomenal. No counter-tenor has a range that low, not even Fagioli. You should also hear her sing _Ombra mai fu._ but ... singers generate different feelings in different people ... you don't like her voice ... that's ok ... your personal choice ... but listen to her sing a variety of roles ... maybe you'll change your mind ?
@@tristanberger8500 :: You are not the first to make that implication about _her_ voice. It's too bad you don't understand the concept of the contralto voice & the incredible things nature can do with a _woman's_ voice. At least you listened to her, elsewhere on YOU-TUBE.
@@tristanberger8500 :: Lighten-up a little, Tristan. No singer is perfect, as you are "in the business", you are already aware of that ... as such ... being _in_ the business ... why do you criticize me for needing this beloved "genre opera" ? Obratsova had a phenomenal voice, no doubt ! ... but it was rough ... and sometimes coarse. Price also had a wonderful voice. She was the first opera-soprano who pulled me deeper into opera ... but the more I listened to other singers, the less "great" she appeared. I could mention other singers who had even better voices than Price ... but I don't want to upset you 😁 ! Boscolo still sounds like a woman with an incredible lower-register.
@@tristanberger8500 :: You are absolutely right ! The singers today are a poor example of the past. It's very unfortunate that opera has deteriorated to this level. How low does a woman have to sing before you consider her a contralto ? If she sang any lower, she would be a bass 😊 ! Is it fair to expect a contralto to have high notes ? I'm not really a fan of DiDonato ... but she does have the ability of changing the "color" of her voice, at least with a recording of one of Vivaldi's masterpieces ; unfortunately, she up-staged a tenor in Maria Stuarda ... it was very unprofessional ; no matter, I guess ... it happens ... I think you are also right about R. Opera not being a Las Vegas show ... I saw a soprano doing cartwheels on stage during a concert as she was singing ; Netrebko dancing while singing during a concert ... The microphone issue is very contentious. At least a contralto sounding voice singing this low part.
