Maybe, maybe not. They seem to recognize him fairly fast(guess the camera is a give-a-way also) since he appears regularly on the streets. Guessing they know he makes money thru RUclips & they are maybe trying to reduce their facial appeal being recorded & monetized for someone else pocket. so instead, you look at the face, but see the ad card they are holding up & go visit.
All those girls maid everywhere it's crazy, does this business work well ?

Boring as hell and totaly overpriced.
@@sonatine-on6is Its boring to you but not others that's why its popular and why there are tons of cafes trying to compete for business and maids are everywhere. People love them, not you of course but others do. As for the pricing, well yeah. Almost all cafes are all expensive. The pokemon cafe, kirby cafe, themed cafes in general. The Super Mario World in japans restaurant. If you notice the theme here is well...themed places. All of these places charge alot of money because they are selling you the experience and atmosphere. In a maid cafe its a more personal interaction with your maid, can get a picture or performance. Then with the cafes and restaurants you just get a small greet for everyone from a character like Pikachu or just look around at all the themed items and food and feel like your in that world. So the prices like that your gonna get everywhere that's themed for sure.
Of course if you got to a normal restaurant or cafe then its a normal cost. The pricing makes sense. You ever go to a movie theater in the west? How much you pay for a hot dog or one soda. You pay the same or less at a maid cafe for a full meal than snacks at a movie theater lol. But if you find maid cafes boring then its not for you and that's okay. I haven't done movie theaters in years. Recent movies are boring or horrible as hell (even sequels/prequels to good movies are horrible) and they are totally overpriced. So I get it.

Akihabara changed a lot over the past years, but still a very interesting area of Tokyo.
There wouldn't be touts everywhere if the business were not doing well and people enjoyed them. No one cares what you like.
