Thank you for hosting Mind Blow again after so many years!!! Some side notes: Where as having rapidly changing content, barebly readable subtiltes, shouting in the mic and adding sound effects, like the camera snap sound, works great on platforms like TikTok to target people with attention deficit hyperactivity, it certainly only disrupts user's attention here. Unlike meaningless, uncreative and contentless TikTok videos, your videos actually serve informative content to a audiences already highly interested in learning about new things anyways. So in this case it works the opposite, as it's highly distractive, making it hard to focus on the information shared. Furthermore, the music and content order you used to have back then was so unique, it was obvious to viewers immediately, that they were watching a Vsauce2 Mind Blow video at the moment and you could even tell how far the timeline has progressed, simply by the music used at certain timestamps, transitions spoken and amount of detail served. Please get back to the old Mind Blow style, because in this video it was hard to focus on the information. :)
I don't feel the same. I actually tend to really dislike over edited content & the like, but for a short format that quickly changes from 1 topic to the next, I find the way this video's done to be very engaging. For this, I want quick, I want edits. As a counter example, if I'm watching a documentary, I want something quite the opposite.
@@nathanpollard1223 interesting counter opinion. Exactly what you describe is what I feel in this video. It's too overedited with the camera snap sound, the extremely aggressive subtitles placed right in the middle of the screen with just a couple of words rather than a full sentence and the rather hectic overall presentation. The old videos 10 years ago weren't like that in my opinion, I even rewatched some of them to figur out whether I have changed or the content presentation has changed
I used to watch these when I was younger & in community college. I now have 2 degrees and I am going for my PhD. My subjects include Applied Mathematics, Nanotechnology & Data Science. Thank you!
The western cape is not unique due to having low rainfall. In fact many of the unique plants thrive in relatively high rainfall. It is unique because it has a different weather pattern from much of the rest of Southern Africa with most of the rain in the winter. It is true that as you go inland it gets drier and drier but that trend continues all the way to the Kalahari and is hardly unique to the western cape. A variety of soils and steep mountains providing isolated biomes also play a big part in the diversity of the plants. Fynbos, a vegetation type that covers much of the region is also unusual in the lack of trees, partly due to the weather pattern leading to summer fires and probably also related to soil, wind and water availability.
Point 2. is named phigital (phhysical + Digital) Design and is allredy in a lot oder prototypes. BMW shows this in the prototyp DEE as a virtual reality slider.
So glad you came back Mind Blow, and so sorry we didnt do more to stop you leaving. Your return is timely, we are desperate for hope now more than ever.
0:23 I'm going to turn the other cheek and say you meant to say "plants" here because left is a flower called a protea or the visuals were meant to actually be other succulents. I freaking love succulents here (South Africa) and they make good ground cover while attracting pollinators (cuz some do flower - not sure if all flower). Also succulent poaching is real so please if you are visiting be respectful to enjoy the sights but leave them alone. Some are endangered and even protected.
This has to be the most random Vsauce intro ever, or at least in the Top 10 most random. It's just so silly. "I just found out about this thing that has no medicinal or cultural use but is very popular cuz it looks like a little butt lol".
@@Goldy01 yes, but the imprinting doesn't seem to involve any needles or the need to deposit material underneath/within a surface layer...a more apt namesake would be temporary tattoo but I guess that is both misleading and doesn't have the same ring 😛 But I'd just as well they called it labeling or imprinting or some such, tattoo def seems like a stretch (and only for marketing's sake, tsk tsk...)
I'm sure most of us were thinking something else when we say the multifunctional "soft" robot. You and I both know what we were gonna do when we heard it can manipulate objects 🤤🤤🥵

The shapeshifting display reminds me of the 3D display table in the first X-Men film.
I've missed mind blow what a trip to simpler amazing times ❤️

bro revived mind blow just to end it again
Yeah I was just thinking that! Brought it back just for it to go back on ice almost immediately
would be cool if you went back to old mind blow videos/subjects/products/ideas and make a video about what's become of them
Am glad to see your still making videos. Your like a good friend.
pffff hahaha! ..I hadn't seen that "EAT PANT" tattoo in years and forgot it was a thing.
6:11 This might be the coolest building I've seen in my life!

02:00 Im sure the brown guy did everything.
And the spider would like scientists to figure out how to make silk that does not have water bead up on it.
It’s back thank you
Wow, I bet that color TV Ad was amazing back in the day. Those colors must've really popped off of your black & white tv.
Happy your doing these again was one of the best things on RUclips. Good for making you aware of things and ideas that you never knew existed.
damn it's so cool that a question made by this same channel finally got closure some 10 years later. mind blown indeed.
miss you mindblow
0:38 now that is very cool. Like the futuristic version of those pin art 3d image things!
Nine minutes of mind blow 😌
I dunno what happened this morning in my life, but I'm glad 2012 is back.

Bring Mindblow back!
Alien archeologists won't be finding HotPockets in my remains. Every time I see their price it takes a year off my life.
It's so weird there's people talking about a succulent baby bum
Should be called Bucktooth.
That first rev is crazy 🤯
PHA, named after the noise an astronomer makes when they discover a huge meteor coming close to earth.
Love the video all cool and amazing science facts but uh why did RUclips categorize this as music?
YES MIND BLOWS ARE BACK
I was hoping to see AOH1996 talked about, maybe next time
So glad you came back Mind Blow, and so sorry we didnt do more to stop you leaving.

Oh only a fraction of the video is about butts. Good thing I figured that out before wasting my time with the rest of it.

Why is this termed a tattoo rather than an implant or "device" more generally? Does it have any resemblance whatsoever to the inking process?
He called it that because it sounds cooler, I guess? It's an imprint on a soft transfer layer onto cell "skin", so it's tattoo-adjacent at best.
@@Goldy01 yes, but the imprinting doesn't seem to involve any needles or the need to deposit material underneath/within a surface layer...a more apt namesake would be temporary tattoo but I guess that is both misleading and doesn't have the same ring 😛
